I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love Sleepy Hollow and have stayed in two other units which were great. We would not stay in 14B again. The unit was clean but outdated and not kept up. Mini blinds bent and broken, walls need repainting, furniture is mismatched old and beaten up, kitchen appliances were ok but contents of drawers and cabinets need to be cleared out and redone they are cluttered and ill equipped. Thereā€™s no pleasing beach decor like weā€™ve seen in the other units. The back deck is enclosed by old bushes so thereā€™s no view and itā€™s not nice to sit on. The landscaping needs to be redone, itā€™s not up to the standards of the other units. Location is fine. Overall, needs a facelift.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sleepy Hollow is our favorite family vacation destination in Michigan. We had 18 in our group and we rented 5 cottages. Everyone elseā€™s cottages were clean, cute and updated. 14B is the opposite. Old, dingy, dirty, gross. Mishmash of old stained furniture, double beds had no bed skirts looked like prison, kitchen is a mess stocked with unorganized utensils, every drawer is a junk drawer full of ā€œstuffā€ piled on top of each other. . It was a disappointment. We paid as much as others in our family and I feel like we got taken.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cottage had everything that we could want, it was very comfortable and the sunroom was perfect! We enjoyed having our meals out there. We did have some issues with our front door lock getting stuck, but maintenance came out to fix right away. He did mention the locks are older and can have issues. It was inconvenient that there was not a path to the front door from the sidewalk, we had to walk through the grass to get to it, we ended up using the patio door as we went in and out. We also had a problem with the string on a set of blinds breaking on our second day leaving the blinds in the bedroom where my kids were sleeping gaping open. Unfortunately, this was not looked at or fixed. We were told there was not anyone from maintenance there that day or the next. We ended up hanging a blanket up. Despite these issues, it was lovely having access to the beach/lake so close by and once the pool opened, that was also fantastic.

My only bugaboo was that the furniture in the family room was very dirty and could use a deep cleaning. The property is lovely and management is quick to address any concern you have. The pool was out of service during most of our stay, but management addressed this by offering day passes to a neighboring property and offering a partial refund! Well done. We would definitely recommend Sleepy Hollow and will be back in the future!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sleepy Hollow is a great small resort that looks like the perfect place for a quick summer vacation. We spent a weekend as we had a football game on that side of the state in the fall. The weather was horrible, but the trip was great. We had a stormy beach to walk along, a fire place for warming our toes, and all of the necessary kitchen gadgets to make a few meals. The only reason we will not give it a 5 is the floors were not very clean. Besides sand which is a given at the beach, you could tell they had not been scrubbed with soap and water before our stay.

Privacy hedge around the dining deck, breezes off Lake Michigan, beautifully landscaped grounds. Contactless entry. Canā€™t think of any way to improve the experience. Fortunately we had great weather, too!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely loved the resort! The location was perfect, the layout was great - wonderful playground that small toddlers could use as well. The pool is very nice - the hours were only 9-2, but advertised as 9-9. This was disappointing because we partly picked the resort for pool access since the lake is so cold and we have a young toddler. Also, the furnishings in 14B are not the best. Very outdated, the dresser had sticker residue and sadly, the queen bed in the master was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. I actually had physical pain when I woke up each day. It just seems like the picked items up from garage sales and put them in the cottage. There also were no bikes available in working condition ever. But I cannot complain about the location and vibe of the resort.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the amenities and can not say enough about how clean the grounds were. BUT, the condo we rented was extremely outdated, old furniture, the tv did not work (maintenance could not fix it), and the floors were filthy. Several of the closets/cabinets were filled/cluttered with the owners personal items. Overall, we loved the grounds and location, but for the price that we paid I expected a nicer/cleaner condo- the condo needs a DEEP cleaning and updating!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 5 of us shared 14B for three nights. It was the third time two had shared that cottage. They noticed it has not been very well maintained. The shower curtains were quite dirty, We had to wash the dishes before we could use them. We had to borrow glasses from the kitchen because there were so few in 14B. The sliding door lock mechanism broke. On the plus side, it is a very light and pleasant cottage.

Reviewer Comments: Sleepy hollow is marvelous and we always have a wonderful wonderful time! 14 B did not have the nicest/newest trimmings or appliances and he deck is in the sun in the evening so it is hard to eat outdoors. The staff on the property has all turned over which is too bad. The art projects continue to be great for the kids though the counselors canceled the Friday night beach party for no good reason. The lake is glruous and there is plenty of space in spite of the smaller beach (due to water levels).
