In accordance with the Town of Kiawah Island Short Term Rental Ordinance, all guests understand that the approved number of bedrooms is 1, the maximum allowed occupancy is 4, and the maximum allowed number of vehicles is 2.

This second-floor Kiawah Island oceanfront vacation rental is a relaxing retreat. The main living area is a comfortable open space and offers cozy seating and a large window that lets in the views and ocean breezes. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room.

Every item you'll need to make a gourmet meal is available in the fully equipped kitchen with black and stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and custom tile work. Enjoy the ocean views while preparing meals for family or friends. There is rich ceramic flooring in the kitchen for easy clean-up. Your meals can be enjoyed on the beachfront balcony or feasted at the dining table with seating for four.

The king bedroom is beautifully appointed and has a chair for reading, a TV, and sliding glass doors that lead to a private oceanfront balcony. The bathroom has a spacious tile/glass shower.

The villa is equipped with wireless internet. Community washers and dryers and an elevator are provided within the building.

Guest reservations of 3 to 21 nights come with a valuable credit to use towards bike rentals during your stay! The credit amount for this property is $150. Please note: Within the Shipwatch community, this credit is only valid for bike rentals.

During your stay on Kiawah Island, be sure to enjoy biking on the 30 miles of flat bike trails, golfing on one of five world-class courses, playing tennis, crabbing, fishing, swimming, and boating. Many families also enjoy the kids’ camp and nature programs at Night Heron Park.

Kiawah Island is about 40 minutes from historic Charleston, famous for incredible shopping, galleries, antique stores, museums, the South Carolina Aquarium, horse-drawn carriage rides, historic landmarks, and sumptuous dining.

Very good location, close to beach and golf. Kitchen is well stocked and clean Condo is somewhat dated and needs some TLC, brackets falling off, water marks on ceilings and the mattress topper is way too soft. You sink into it and it is difficult to turn. Management offered to fix the brackets but why didn’t they take care if it to begin with.

The kitchen is old and not kept well. The unit had a horrible odor, The bed had 2 valleys as deep as the Atlantic. There were 2 usable pillows and we requested 2 more from Akers. Ellis. These arrived the day before our last night in the unit. Overall, the unit was not good. The ocean view, beach and building exterior were all very good. Would not ever return to this unit but would consider another in the building.

We enjoyed a really excellent time at beach with this condo, perfect for a couple. It was clean and nicely appointed, and with good kitchen equipment. There are quite a few good dining options reasonably close. The view of the woods and beach is beautiful and relaxing. Thank you, hope to come again.

Disappointing

Furniture (especially bed) extremely uncomfortable. Drapes badly ripped and difficult to slide. Several things broken (no hook on bathroom door, hall ceiling light broken). Poor lighting, especially bathroom. Smells old. Sticky spots on floor. Several electrical outlets too loose to use. Refrigerator must have fallen off truck. Beautiful view of landscaping and ocean.

Everything was great and we had a wonderful time. Small suggestions would be that it would have been convenient to have a couple of starter coffee maker filters and/or coffee packets for arrival, a bar of soap in the bathroom for first day. Beach chairs would be a nice standard amenity. Someone left a couple of broken ones behind which was ok. Laundry room was directly across from unit which was very convenient. Thought facility did a great job cleaning up grounds immediately after Helene..!!

Beautiful and will be coming back!

Beautiful condo/beach stay! Will be coming back. All the gardens on island are immaculate. Spanish moss trees over hang the road as we drove onto island made it look like a Nicolas Sparks book. Condo was perfect size for just the 2 of us.

Great stay at Kiawah Shipwatch

The 1 bedroom condo was in great shape, very nice and had a nice view of the ocean from the second floor. It had everything I needed for my stay. Elevator, laundry room, 2 TVs, WiFi, fully equipped kitchen, king size bed, great shower, etc...

I should have read the reviews

As the title said I should have read the reviews. We have been visiting this resort for nearly fifteen years, initially with children and more recently as a couple. We are familiar with the location and chose West Beach for its quiet and proximity to the nature preserve. The location is wonderful and the view from the balcony lovely. The condo itself leaves much to be desired and is in need of some upgrades so that it is on a par with that offered elsewhere throughout the resort. The sagging mattress supported by dorm bed risers was a particular disappointment . Overall dingy, drab and a bit dirty. We will return to the resort but not to this condo.

Vacation BUST

Management called 2hrs before my check-in time to let me know of the very unfortunate circumstance awaiting me. They told me they just that morning they found out about some renovations that just started but it would be around the corner from my unit but it would be very noisey and gave me 25% off my stay. So first day ok but very loud. The second day the workers put scaffolding right past my balcony between my room and the ocean view I paid for not only that but I felt like the balcony turned into a hard hat zone and was very dangerous so I called and complained and they gave a full refund. Honestly that was the bare minimum that could be done. Never offered alternative of any kind just here your money back I could stay or I could they didn't care that it was completely unsafe to stay there any longer. The lock on the sliding glass door looked as if it had been broken for years and then they build a stairway straight to the balcony. Terrible way to treat your guest.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend. The location was excellent and it was easy to access the room. It was not terribly clean, which was disappointing. It was an average accommodation. I would probably stay somewhere else in the future.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Really enjoyed our first time to Kiawah Island & the location of this rental was perfect for us. Beautiful view of the beach & beach access were most important to us. This hit the target on both counts. Comfortable bed & working AC were also critical with an August stay. The property is older & showing its age a bit but no complaints.

Views of the beach/ocean and overall location were great! The unit itself was fine. Previous reviewers stated that the unit needs updates. I think aesthetically it is up to date, but may require some maintenance (ex: kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors have some interference fits). Each time I walked in, it seemed to me to smell damp, but my wife, who has a keen sense of smell thought it was fine. Also, when we arrived, ALL of the dishes were dirty (i.e. visible dried coffee left in the mugs). We washed all of the dishes and they cleaned up just fine, so they weren't stains. All-in-all a great stay!

Reviewer Comments: Great response and customer service from the staff replacing a broken toaster . Also mentioned to them battery needed for thermostat and TV remote. The condo as a whole needs a total refresh, furniture, paint, drapes etc to brighten it up. Appeared no one stayed there for awhile. Needs a deep cleaning. Top of drapes and furniture were dusty. Patio door dirty. The Cougar Point Players Pub has excellent food and in walking distance. Would stay here again if updated. Love Kiawah. Third time to the island.

Perfect location, uncomfortable furniture

The pictures of this place truly don’t do the location justice. The condo building has a private board walk to the beach that is 25 steps away from your door. West beach is beautiful and quiet too. This place is also located very close to the bike path and close to freshfields which made it so easy to stay there. The view from the balcony is beautiful as well. Although the location is superb, The only reason I’m giving it four stars is the actual condo itself. The furniture is very old and frankly very uncomfortable. The mattress, living room furniture, and deck furniture has definitely all seen it’s day. This place is probably more suitable for a quick weekend stay where you don’t care about being in the actual condo that much. We stayed for two weeks and the uncomfortable furniture was starting to get to us by then end. All in all though, this location is unbeatable and I would definitely recommend the west beach area to any first time kiawah visitors.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Perfect location!! Helpful rental staff. Quick response to a TV issue. Able to check in a bit early without problems. Clean villa. Kitchen needed a few more items, like a can opener. I was concerned with the lack of cell service. Phone land line was "searching for service". My cell carrier was spotty. Thankfully we didn't need to contact EMS. Shipwatch is such a great place to rent. Very safe, clean, inviting.
