Sobre o anfitrião
Anfitrião: John and Bridget Ries
John and Bridget Ries and our two kids, Taylor and Jack, moved from Saint Louis to Colorado in the summer of 2013 to change their life and style. Having raised the children on all of Missouri's beautiful rivers, we were finally ready to move on to white water.
Taylor is a highly trained raft guide and certified in outdoor survival skills. She worked with Colorado Mesa University's Outdoor Program guiding peers off the grid to the back-country, paying her own way through university!
Jack works hard, is also excellent on the river and loves the outdoors and is critical to the running of this home. Jack commands the mountains on his board. His Mother cannot imagine the things she hears he does~like 40 foot jumps or "drops"?! She takes a breath when he heads for the mountains for he goes where she never did and will never be able to! The coolest job Jack has had thus far was training in as a dog-musher up in Aspen! How cool is that?!
Bridget left the corporate world and is back in hospitality where she belongs and thrives. John loves driving for the local valley-transit (RFTA) and the valley got safer once he signed on years ago! John is RFTA's 2019 Driver of the Year! He used to be a general contractor running his own business and says this is the 'easiest job I ever had! I have a window office with changing 360 degree views!" Moving to Colorado was one of the best decisions this family ever made!
WELCOME!
Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade
We chose this location for its obvious epic beauty and because we wouldn't have a neighbor ten feet away on either side of us.
O que faz essa propriedade ser única?
'The Stone House' out back, originally a livery serving the mining camp just east in South Canyon, , was built in the 1800's and still stands (without a roof)! Kids will love it because the raspberry bush back there is massive and it's like a "secret garden" or a fort~depends on the kid! (It is not at all landscaped! And it's awesome!)
24-hour security camera captures every approach to property from over 100 yards away
Excellent natural light, the open kitchen/dining/living layout and flow of the first floor encouraging communal gathering, the large kitchen and abundant counter/cabinet space, we even love the original cabinets in the kitchen! We love the water rights and we love when we can open the 'ditch' and let that water come down through the fall at the top of the back yard (water flows seasonally and at owners' discretion and as often as possible for guests, but it's not 24/7 at this time, necessarily) and flow down through the front yard. We love the bird songs and all the natural flowers and the landscaped ones too!
We love that you can get lost from others on this property. Everyone can be here and yet you may wonder where they are wandering?!
Three massive evergreens out back ranging from 150 to 300 years old. Two of them tower over the upper waterfall alongside the yard and have lounge chairs you can recline on under the pines and along that little brook! Read a book, escape your crowd, enjoy a smoke or your favorite beverage.
