Romantic Retreat for 2 RIGHT ON the Beach. Let the waves lull you to sleep and watch the sunrise over the ocean from your bed. This self standing studio cottage is at the oceans edge. Panoramic ocean views, and seven miles of white sand on Moody beach in Wells, Maine. Moody Beach is a private beach for homeowners only! It connects to Oqunquit Beach which has been names one of the top 15 beaches in the world by Trip Advisor! Enjoy miles of beach walking!! Walk to Oqunquit by way of the beach and enjoy lunch! Cottage has been fully renovated with new interior. Enjoy a little luxury on the beach. Perfect for a couple! Full kitchen with Corian countertops, bath with tiled, dual walk-in shower, sliding glass doors looking out onto the beach. Great waves for surfing, boogie boarding and feeling like a kid again! Our cottage comes fully stocked with everything you could need including; high quality linens, incredibly comfortable bed with mattress pad and high quality linens, beach towels and bath towels, flat screen tv/dvd, beach chairs, and more. Property is non-smoking, no pets as required by the association. You will love this studio cottage!


Parking for one vehicle is available. Parking is tight so a small vehicle is best. There is room only for two in this cottage. We love to bring our bikes! There are boat rides, sailboat charters, whale watching, golf courses, miniture golf, nature walks, surfing lessons, the Ogunquit play house..... all near by!

It was perfect for what I was looking for. Can't get much better than being on the beach, steps from the waters edge.

Spectacular Location

This lovely little one room cottage is perfect for a get away for 2. My husband and I had a wonderful time walking Moody beach that runs into Ogunquit beach. Having the beach right at your feet in a few steps when you walk outside is wonderful. The cottage is nicely decorated and the perfect size for 2. It has everything you need. Thank you for letting us share your paradise!

Absolutely perfect

Cathy was so helpful prior to my arrival, prompt responses and answering all of my questions. The cottage was clean, charming and perfect for a getaway. Fell asleep listening to the waves every night. For such a small cottage, nothing was left to be desired. Plenty of kitchen supplies, even beach towels and chairs. What a wonderful time I had. I will definitely be back!

A slice of Heaven on a beautiful beach

If you like looking out the window and seeing the waves on the shore this could be the right place for you. We have stayed here two years in a row and we look forward to it all year long. The location is perfect, you are literally 10 feet from the beach. The cottage is nicely decorated with a small kitchen area, a stove top with a toaster oven, a small refrigerator which stores more than you think. You have a queen size bed and a full bathroom, it is just perfect for the beach get away, you can enjoy your morning coffee with a front row seat to the changing tides, a great way to start the day. We used the gas grill twice during our stay, I have a new appreciation for grilling while watching the activity on the beach, I recommend this cottage whole heartedly and look forward to our next stay here.

Cute bungalow on the beach at Moody Beach

I really did enjoy my time in Moody Beach in the bungalow but I would suggest an easy chair for reading or watching tv. I did think the price was high for what you got, thank God I got the best of the lot

Shabby and Disappointing

My husband had booked this weekend as a surprise getaway for our anniversary. First, we were met at the door by a dirty plastic basin, once inside there was a used tissue on the floor, a broken chair (not same chair as pictured) on the bed were 3 pillows that were strewn about and looked slept on, behind those pillows was hair and dust with no headboard. In the bathroom was a dirty towel hanging on the hook. Needless to say we had to find another place to stay not to mention the inconvenience and expense. We paid for 3 nights at a place we didn't use. When I called the owner to let her know we would not be staying she said she was 45 minutes away and could come and clean it but that there was no refund. It was an expensive lesson, and we would be very reluctant to use this site again.

This is the first time in the 10 years we have been renting this property we have had less than a fabulous review. I received a phone call from the guest and I offered to immediately drive to the cottage and take care of anything that was unsatisfactory - that offer was refused. I immediately went down and checked the unit. There was a small stain (it had just been washed so it was clean... but there was a small stain) on one towel that was hanging up and I immediately replaced it. The plastic bin outside the door is for dipping sandy feet in before you enter. It is kept outside for that reason. The unit had just been professionally cleaned by the same cleaner we have used for 10 years. It was clean. The weekend forecast was rain and cold. I am certain that had everything to do with the change in the guest plans. There was no broken chair.....

perfect little cottage

Lovely little cottage right on the water. I especially liked the serenity and quiet. With such a small space, it was nice to have little baskets under the bed to store a few things.

Great Beach Getaway

This cottage has just what you need for a stay at the beach; comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen and outdoor grill to prepare meals, great shower in the bathroom. It is right on the beach, so you are only steps away from relaxing, sunbathing, swimming, or walking. Private beach is beautiful and not at all crowded. Would definitely recommend this property for couples looking to get away for a great beach vacation.

Excellent oceanfront stay

My husband and I had an amazing stay in this sweet cottage. We needed a relaxing getaway and we could not have asked for a more perfect spot. The cottage sits RIGHT on the water, within a few easy steps you’re walking on the sandy beach or sitting in the beachside chairs provided. The beach itself was never crowded, but enough people walking by if you enjoy some “people watching”. The cottage itself is well maintained, with modern updates, a nautical décor to give that true seaside vacation feel, and the essentials you need to feel comfortable. The kitchen allowed us easy access to snacks, drinks, cooking and grilling (no need to haul a cooler or bags of gear to the beach!). If you don’t want to cook, there are an assortment of great restaurants just a few minutes away and a grocery store about 10 minutes away (driving). My favorite element of the weekend was being able to see and hear the ocean from bed. Open the sliding glass/screen door and you are practically sleeping on the beach (The bed was very comfortable too!). If you need to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle, I highly recommend coming to this Wells getaway.
