Spectacular Log Home with Private Lake Access

WELCOME TO DEEP MOUNTAIN LODGE! This state-of-the-art log home was completely renovated in 2019. Situated on 10+ acres of forested woodland, this is a wonderful destination for one- or two-family rentals. The Lodge, which sleeps 8+ people, features a large yard with fire pit that is perfect for cookouts and gatherings. Enjoy the lovely screened porch, and a private walking path down to Deering Reservoir—one of New Hampshire's cleanest lakes. Great local restaurants and pubs, just one hour from the Massachusetts border.

Warm weather guests can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, swimming, fishing, hiking, and more. Bring your own boat! Just minutes from golfing, hiking trails, and historic sites. For winter fun, this home is just minutes from three ski mountains featuring over 100 ski trails, night skiing, terrain parks, tubing, etc. The lake and surrounding areas provide excellent cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Bring your snow machines!

Deep Mountain Lodge provides a very rich vacation experience without the commute, traffic jams, or lines of the Lakes Region and White Mountains. Seasonal rentals are also available. Please contact us for more information.

The house fit our needs perfectly! The space was very thoughtfully put together and fit 7 adults comfortably. We liked having the house further from the water as it provided a private space to enjoy the amazing firepit. The waterfront was clean and we spent most of our days in or on the water! Our hosts were communicative and very kind. We loved our stay for sure!

Incredible hospitality in this very comfortable New Hampshire home. We went in the middle of winter and every room had updated and dedicated heat sources. They even left us a little snacks and cookies in the fridge. 10 out of 10 vacation and will be going back in the spring/summer to experience the lake in the backyard.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin! As a family of 4 and one older dog, we found it even better than the photos and description. It was clean, the kitchen perfectly stocked including spices and every cooking utensil and pot/pan you could need, and the beds very comfortable. Every detail has been thoughtfully added and the layout makes it very comfortable for a family of 4 and probably even more. And we love that they use Who Gives a Crap? Toilet paper as we support the company and use that at home, too! The outdoor spaces were clean and great, too. It's a short 2-3 minute walk down to the lake and the lake itself was so beautiful - clean, the perfect temperature, with very friendly neighbors on either side (including the owners though when we were there it was just their adult children - they were so nice!). There are two canoes and two kayaks available to use, which was great because it let us explore it with our kids (one of whom is sensitive to this type of experience) without committing to a day out or renting something. And he turned out to really enjoy it! We spent one of our best 4th of July's ever on the lake, watching the fireworks show for an hour. Finally, the treats, fruits, yogurt, etc. that were waiting for us when we checked in were so incredibly nice and the kind of unexpected detail that just sets such a nice time for the start of a vacation. We would love to come back and highly recommend this cabin and owners!

Deep Mountain Lodge was just right for our family--five adults and two kids, ages 9 and 5.The cabin’s layout is comfortable and homey but also offers many modern conveniences, including a kitchen that is unusually well-equipped for a vacation rental and mini-splits with temperature controls in each room.Our grandchildren loved the access to the water and identifying beetles and burls in the surrounding woods. We all enjoyed the very nice firepit, yard, and many spaces the house has for relaxing and playing games. The hosts’ responsiveness also left a strong impression. A slight glitch we had on our first night--we couldn’t access cable service--was immediately resolved. Lisa, the property manager, contacted the hosts’ daughter and son-in-law, who patiently and efficiently reset the connection through a magical process we would never have been able to manage. Since it happened to be a night when the Red Sox were still in the midst of an amazing winning streak, Jess and Jeff were lifesavers to those of us who were eager to watch the game.One note: For anyone with mobility issue--including my husband who uses a cane and a walker--the path to the water would be a definite challenge. That didn’t matter in our case. But just something to be aware of for those with walking limitations.This was a perfect spot for our three-generation family to be able to spend time together in quiet and privacy. Thanks to our hosts for sharing it!

Perfect place for a fall weekend getaway! The kids went fishing on the dock, we played boardgames, and we used the corn hole set outside. The fire pit looked great even though we couldn't use it this time (statewide fire ban due to a drought). The hosts left everything we needed for breakfast the next day as well as some drinks - such a great surprise. Already thinking about booking our stay for next year!

Memorial weekend getaway

The property was great! Very clean and had everything we needed to cook meals and just relax. Lake was nice but it was a little chilly over the weekend. The hosts left some muffins, cookies, fruit and some beverages which was we though was a nice touch.

Cabin in the New Hampshire Woods

We loved our stay at this property. Cabin was perfect for us. Kitchen was fabulous, air conditioning in each room, so comfortable. Outdoor area with fire pit and picnic tables was great. Host was super responsive to our needs.

Great getaway

Wonderful well kept home with a lovely screened in porch. Great for morning coffee and relaxing! Nice backyard with a fire pit, picnic table and games. A short walk to the water, which was awesome! The lake was clean and refreshing! We made use of the kayaks and saw many loons with their young! Definitely recommend this place!

Beautiful house with Lake access .

Wonderful 3 night stay in this beautiful log home. Access to the lake, dock and kayaks was a bonus. We had a blast on the lake and did a good amount of fishing. We will definitely be back!

Family get away

Lovely log cabin home in the woods, with a quick little walk to the lake to our own dock. We loved having use of kayaks and swimming out to the floating dock. Loved the loons.

Delightful Stay in Deering

The cabin was absolutely gorgeous and well equipped! My adult children loved playing in the lake, and I had a great time cooking for all. The goodies left in the fridge were a really nice touch. We’d love to come again, if our schedules all can accommodate another visit!

My friends and I meet up every year for our college reunion, and this place was hands down the best we’ve stayed at! We thoroughly enjoyed our return trip to this Log Home in Deering! It proved to be another amazing week which started off with the goodies left in the fridge and on the counter by these most thoughtful owners! Breakfast would have been all set for us with their thoughtful purchases. With comfortable beds, incredible neighbors, amazing firepit, easy accessible waterfront, and all the amenities you could want, this home is perfect for getways with your family! We can't speak highly enough about our stay here! Thank you, and we cannot wait to come back!

Great fishing!

My husband and boys absolutely loved the bass fishing on this lake. The neighbors were super friendly and let us plug in our boat for the week so we didn’t have to use portable power for the trolling motor.

Meet Tom and Patty Byrne! Our family has been on Deering Lake since the 1950s. Tom runs an education company, while Patty works for a consulting firm. We have two adult daughters: Lindsay, who operates The Wet Nose Project—a dog walking and boarding company with the mission of saving shelter animals; and Jessica, a medical laboratory scientist. We also have two very friendly Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs, named Scout and Blue. We purchased the Deep Mountain property in 2018 and have fully renovated the log house, providing private lake access through our undeveloped lakefront lot just across the way.

This property abuts our family's land so, when we learned it was listed for sale in mid-2018, we made the decision to purchase the property to ensure it was not developed or subdivided. The property included a log home, which we gutted and fully renovated for use as a vacation rental. This project was completed in July 2019, and the house is now ready for guests! We've also added a wooded path that leads to your own private dock and the pristine 323-acre Deering Lake (also known as Deering Reservoir, or by its native American name of Lake Piscataquog—the headwaters of the Piscataquog River).

Deep Mountain Lodge delivers the best of both worlds—complete privacy on 10+ acres of forested woodland, and lakefront access featuring your own private dock on Deering Lake. Use our canoes, kayaks, and small runabout (boating license required), or bring your own boat! The home has been fully renovated inside and out. Enjoy our high-end kitchen, three bedrooms (all with air conditioning), lovely screened porch, large flat screen TVs with hundreds of FIOS channels and Netflix, a large yard with fire pit and a brand new Weber grill that is great for hosting cookouts or gatherings. On the lake, you'll find endless opportunities for fun and relaxation exploring miles of shorefront, or boating and swimming in the crystal-clear waters of Deering Lake. Or, bring your mountain bikes or hiking boots and hit our local trails or miles of quiet country roads.
