With a remodeled gourmet kitchen, a great room that seats the whole crew, a deck fire pit, a pickleball court, and peek-a-boo views of Payette Lake, this is the rare property where everyone has space to spread out and still come together. Clean and comfortable house for family gatherings. Great kitchen that is well stocked with dishes, appliances, serving plates, etc. We loved the location, took many walks in the state park. We had great communication from the management company. We recommend and would stay here again.

This please is perfect.

The location was perfect, only a 3 minute walk to the beach 1 mile from town. House was clean. Deer came up to the house every night. Definitely want to stay here next year!

McCall Wedding

We would definitely stay here again! Enjoyed being so close to the lake and park. The house had everything we needed! This was our first visit to McCall and it is a beautiful area!

Good location and house

We were happy with the amount of room at this house. Good location for skiing and food close by. Deer enjoy the grounds and are almost domesticated.Only issue I have was the maintenance of entrance; we spent 3 hours chipping ice from walkway so we didn’t have anyone injured trying to walk into house.

Hi Michael, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and the home and I apologize for the condition of the walkway. We have a shovel crew that tries their best to keep up with the snow cycles, but sometimes (particularly this winter) the daily thaw and nightly freezes get ahead of them. There is typically ice-melt placed right near the front door to throw down if they haven't made it out there yet and I'll be sure we get that restocked as it sounds like perhaps it was not available for you stay. Great Stay at the Cabin

We really enjoyed our stay in the cabin. All the amenities that were advertised were included and worked properly. Bedding was comfortable and the location was great! Thanks for plowing the driveway and front entrance, there was LOTS of snow on the ground when we arrived.

Husbands 60th Birthday. 5 kids+ spouses, 9 grand children (3 under6 months.) Lovely place for all of us. Plenty of room to spread out. Nice walk to the beach.

Family vacation

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful cabin in a fantastic location. Five minute walk to a beautiful secluded beach, right next to Ponderosa State Park. Quick access to town. The cabin is lovely with all the amenities, stocked well with dishes and cookware. The downstairs dining master bedroom carpet could use a good clean but other than that the cabin was clean and wonderful places to lounge and enjoy the space. Would highly recommend this cabin.

perfect despite the odd layout upstairs!

My group repeatedly stated how they would get the same rental (and want to come back next year). We had three families with two adults and 2 children per family. Like mentioned before, we locked the middle door upstairs and used the separate stairways. The kids LOVED when the door was open to make circles in the house. The little cubby under the stairwell was loved by all. The kitchen easily held it all. The driveway was AMBLE space for vehicles and was a perfect place for the kids to play in the snow between outings (the plowed snow on the backside created the best sledding hill). Super charming and we were even visited by a fox on the deck the last night posing for all the photos! Thanks for sharing your property with us.

Disappointed and overpriced

This property has the potential to be a nice cabin. We arrived Christmas eve and had prepared food and planned to stay for the entire week. Getting up Christmas day the toilets had all stopped up on the lower level. We had to rent a hotel room to use the bathroom., a challenge for 15 people. After we contacted the property manager (who was terrific), he found a cabin close to ours and let us have it for a couple of days (the 27th). This of course meant we had to move twice and there was not room for everyone to stay at the new cabin. It also meant that as we prepared Christmas Dinner we had to limit water use and run to the nearest bathroom (new cabin or hotel). This situation could have been prevented with adequate upkeep. i.e. "it had been 4 years since septic emptied." I had tried to view the cabin ahead of time and was told there were plenty of pictures on line and there was not a window of time for us to look at it. Four of our family (three men 6'2" and one 6'4" were always ducking to get in the house and hitting their heads on the bunk wall! The downstairs hall bath was moldy and the sink was very low. On the positive side, the Christmas trees were a nice touch and appreciated; the property manager did his best to rectify the situation. Bottom line: we checked out a day early and would not rent the property again.

Jeanne, I'm sorry for the issues you incurred and as you mentioned I did as much as I could to try to remediate this bad situation. The septic had just been pumped in September and upon finally getting someone out to attempt again on Christmas Day (in McCall this is not small feat), his feedback was not that the tank was full but rather the mainline was plugged likely from a glut of food / bacon grease being put down the kitchen sink drains. We will be posting small signs by all of the kitchen sinks to not dispose of excessive food waste down the disposal, particularly greasy food but unfortunately not everyone is as respectful with vacation properties as they would be their own home.

Fabulous reunion!

I have to give a HUGE shout out to the kitchen in this VRBO. It was beyond well-stocked. It had things that I'd never had in any of my kitchens. It was amazing. For a large group (we had 14), about the only thing that could possibly be improved in the kitchen area would have been another dishwasher and perhaps another refrigerator. The dishwasher was running constantly trying to keep up - ha! The location was unbelievable - sharing a border with Ponderosa State Park. It was the very last house before entering the park. Deer and other wildlife were constantly on the back porch and outside the windows. For the hiking and boating enthusiasts in our group, it was truly second to none. Pickleball! Who knew? We played it late into the night - all ages of us. Superb. Gas grill and gas fire pit (for s'mores) worked fabulously! I will reiterate what I read in a previous review - the bedroom situation upstairs is very unusual. While there are multiple bedrooms, there is no hallway and one must go through one bedroom to get to another. We solved this problem by having half the bedroom occupants ascend stairs on one side of the house, and half on the other stairs on the other side of the house. We locked the door in the very middle so each group sort of had its own side. That way, we didn't have to have quite as much invasion of our privacy. I suggest discussing this with the host beforehand so you are aware. It was less of an issue than I thought it would be, for which I was grateful. It is clear that upgrades and updates are being made throughout the house. The decor was perfect for a cabin. Bathrooms are clean and some are obviously very new and modern. What they are doing is improving their property and doing it well. We came very prepared but almost didn't need to be. The host had coolers and thermoses and water bottles to use for hot hiking days. I feel that suggestions are taken seriously and things are added. Board games and puzzles galore, including VRBOopoly. WHAT?? Check-in was excellent and simple. Host was responsive and helpful. Overall a great time. Ages 2 months to 83 years were represented in our group and 100% (okay - maybe not the infant) said they'd return here again. Bravo!

Perfect location!

This was the perfect location for our family reunion! We wanted something close to the water but not on the water because we had 3 toddlers with us. This was the perfect distance to the water! The house was equipped with everything we needed and more, down to the huge shampoo and conditioner bottles in the showers! It’s a small detail but things like that make it feel more like a home then a hotel! We will be coming back!
