On route to your temporary home you will glimpse authentic Caribbean living.
Traveling through small villages you will notice colorful chattel homes before arriving at your relaxing retreat.
Perfect for chilling.
We are confident that you will enjoy your air-conditioned bedrooms, each with a private balcony and your cozy, open plan indoor, outdoor living space.
You may choose to relax in your private plunge pool or take a 5 minute walk to the nearest beach.

We are located south of the island by the Caribbean sea where waters are generally calmer than our Atlantic sea beaches.
Weather you are looking for a relaxing holiday or a fun packed adventure, our tranquil holiday home is a great place to sit back and decide.
The home offers outdoor dining, 2 en-suite bedrooms, private parking, secure garden, a safe and is great for friends, couples or small families with older children. We provide a restaurant directory, taxi numbers and a long list of activities available on the island.
Sugar Fields Cottage is in a residential area, only minutes away from some of the best beaches on the island. Also, a 2 minute drive from Jolly Harbor, where there is a Supermarket, vacation shops, a pharmacy, a bank and restaurants. Water sports and water activities are also nearby.
Through a hire car company we can arrange for eligible drivers, to hire a vehicle at a very competitive rate. This enables you to take your time and explore the entire Island. There is also a bus service, 5 minutes walk from the residence with buses that take you into the town of St. John, where you can shop around or catch connecting buses to other parts of the island

We we were met on arrival by Tony who was very welcoming and at the end of our stay we were allowed a late check out due to a late flight which we really appreciated.The accommodation is well laid out, comfortable and had everything we needed, the pool area was ideal after a walk back from the beach.There are glorious beaches in walking distance and also eateries such as Fox House or Big Head Lobster, we ate at both and they were excellent. We also ate at Dennis's on Fryyes Beach and again it was very good.Would love to return to Antigua and if we were able we would certainly stay at Shell Cottage, Sugar Fields again.

The place we had booked unfortunately had a leak in the pool, meaning we couldn't stay there. On arrival, Alyson was very apologetic and moved us to the next door place. It was huge, and wonderful! It also had a pool and was even better! Great comms, and easy and very flexible checkin/check out. There was no basic amenities, like oil, salt, sugar, coffee or cleaning products etc, but otherwise the kitchen was well stocked with cutlery, utensils and similar. Great location, and made it easy for us to explore the island! We would highly recommend & hope to return one day

Unfortunately we ended up in the villa right next door due to a problem with the pool when we arrived.But the villa next door was of similar size & was just as lovely.Great location as close to many beaches & restaurants.Alyson (host) was very responsive to any questions we had.We all had a great time & would definitely stay in this villa (or the one next door) again.

Our stay was amazing! The cottage was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It’s conveniently located just a few minutes from the beaches, which made it perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were warm, responsive, and attentive throughout our stay. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this property!

We had the most amazing vacation! It started with Marsha greeting us at the airport, taking us grocery shopping to meeting Tony at the house! The house was amazing, we instantly felt at home! Tony always was on call for anything we needed along with Marsha who would pick us up on a moments notice! I don’t want to embellish too much because we want our 2 desired weeks each year lol

Fabulous villa, great location

We stayed here for a month. This is a great villa with a private pool, a nicely equipped house, and a great view from the upper porch for morning coffee. The house is located in the middle of the island and close to 5-7 outstanding beaches. The owners are delightful people and very responsive. They know how to operate a rental and please their guests. Fabulous place and owners!

Lovely stay

We had a great stay at this property. Communication was good with Alyson. Property was clean and inviting. The pool area was great to use and was very quiet and private. If we return to Antigua we would stay at this property again. We learnt that the property next door is also owned by the same owners so would be great if travelling with family or friends.

A Piece of Heaven

The house was immaculate, clean and safe. The house itself was located behind 2 wooden gates. Never did we not feel safe. We were worried about not having AC on the first floor but with the tropical breeze and all the fans running that worry disappeared. The place stayed cool our entire trip. The hosts were awesome. Very hospitable and nice. The house has everything you need and more. The pool was nice to have for evening wading. However, I would suggest getting at least one stair rail on the pool for safety. We did not rent a car but house not far from 4 of the beaches so we took a cab.

I like that the area was quiet and private. However at night the bathroom will have a lot of bugs. I was also charged additional for having my guest stay the night, so if you have friends or family on the island stay over you will be charged $12 US a night. I was told when I checked in if I ran low on anything reach out, I did and was told due to the price that what was given is all I will get. Like really I paid over $1200 for my stay and was given paper towel that was almost finished and the same for the cheap toilet paper. I will never stay at this place again. So guys when you’re booking, don’t be fooled by the private pool.

Lovely property. Immaculate. Location is by 2 of most beautiful beaches on Antigua. Alyson was attentive and correspondence and check in/out was flawless. We will be back!

Comfortable with all you need and 5 min walk to Valley Church

This is a fairly new house with two generous bedrooms, both en-suite. Very well provided with everything needed. A compact and well stocked kitchen including a washing machine. Outside is a sun-trap patio with plunge pool and loungers. We have really enjoyed our stay and it was great to just walk across the road to the excellent Vally Church beach (although we did venture further). A few minutes drive is Jolly Harbour supermarket and there are several good restarts on this stretch of Caribbean coast. Alyson was a very good host and attentive to any needs.it was easy to keep each other informed of travel/arrival plans. A happy 9 days, thanks.

9 night stay January 2024

We stayed for 9 nights at this delightful villa, which is within walking distance of wonderful beaches and has some great views from the upstairs balconies. The hosts Alyson and Tony were on hand for advice and checked in on us to ensure all was ok. The villa itself was perfect for the two of us, although would easily take four people. We found everything we needed including an abundance of towels and extra linen, ice and some snacks. The Epicurean is only 5 minutes away and had most things we wanted. We rented a car for the duration of our stay and went beach hopping and enjoyed them all. The plunge pool was great for our return late afternoon and evening and private. We would not hesitate to recommend, in fact we have already booked for next year! Thank you Alyson and Tony.

Little gem

I’m loathe to post a positive review because then everyone will book this great villa and I won’t get chance again! Just back from a week in Antigua.. 2 friends shared the house very comfortably and will definitely be staying again (assuming it is available!) great comms with Alyson who met us at the Villa to check in and show us around. This place is modern, clean, has all the things you would need (including modern, effective fans downstairs and AC/ fans in both bedrooms upstairs. Pool was perfect for us to chill around… not for swimming but great for cooling off. Great location, feels very private but easy to access local beaches/ supermarket and restaurants. Hurricane Tammy threatened whilst we were on island and despite being away herself, Alyson checked in on us, shared weather updates and advised what to do. Also made sure to reassure us of safety of the house which was comforting. Tammy luckily passed us by, and whilst it rained plenty… no leaks, no drama, and we cosied up at home until given the all clear. So, I do want to be selfish but won’t and I highly recommend this villa, the owner and everything about it.

Lovely place in paradise to spend a few days… We had so much fun in the beaches and then coming back to the cozy pool at night was just the cherry on top for all of us. Alison is an awesome host and told us how to get to the best spots in town THANK YOU so much for all the tips and the info you gave us, besides letting us stay at you amazing place in paradise. Ps. We have just returned from an extended stay at Surgarfields and have nothing but good memories and things to say about the accommodation and it’s owners!! Tony and Alyson were fantastic hosts. Wonderful, well equipped property

Alyson and Tony seemed determined to make our stay as comfortable as possible. There were lots of thoughtful touches in the house - hairdryer, sun tan lotion, lovely sheets, lots of towels - and the WiFi was good enough that we could work easily from the apartment. Gorgeous plunge pool and outdoor space too. Restaurants walking distance from the property and the lovely Valley Church beach nearby. We’ll be back.

Its quiet, clean and secluded...getting to the location is a kind of a turn off, due to the dirt road, and if having company over there's no parking for them...Also i prefer my cleaning fee to be included in my cost, and ive never been any where else where theres a deposit paid on site also, then you musy wait on site for them to get to you before you can check out...everything else is good had fun, the place has everything you would require other than food.

Beautiful home nestled in the countryside

Visiting Antigua was a dream and it was made better by staying at this property. The owners are extremely nice and had the property in excellent shape. The location is away from the resorts but still close to everything. We had a rental car and were able to buy groceries and cook breakfast every morning. The pool was a nice added touch and was used at night. The bedrooms have AC and cooled the nights off very well. When we return to the island we will absolutely book the property today. Thanks so much!

Nice house, pool dirty or certainly green at the bottom.Not inviting at all, umbrella broken .

I think certain things have to be looked at , and checked properly before new clients arrive. Fans very dirty, weather really hot needed umbrellas. If everything was checked and working correctly, then it’s a nice little house

meravigliosa Antigua

La casa è bellissima e molto comoda. Spaziose le camere con bagno annesso e con aria condizionata silenziosissima. Soggiorno grande e ben strutturato con cucina annessa bene attrezzata. Piccola ma gradevole la piscina. Pulizia ineccepibile. Simpatica Tracy che ci ha accolti calorosamente. Alyson, nonostante fosse assente, è sempre stata in contatto con noi. Ottima la posizione per raggiungere in pochi minuti Jolly Harbour, una delle spiagge più belle dell'isola e altre meravigliose spiagge. Torneremo!
