The river house in the fields

The house is located one kilometer away of the main road in the upper fields of the Orleans island, in St-Laurent. It is surrounded by cultivated fields and its numerous windows and long front gallery allow you to contemplate the splendid panoramic view of the St. Lawrence River all seasons long. Those looking for a peaceful place, large green spaces and seasonal changes of scenery will be pampered. All this tranquility and bucolic landscapes are minutes away from the tourist activities and services offered on the Orleans island and only 20 minutes from downtown Quebec City.

The house is a piece by piece made construction. Its apparent frame is made of massive wood beams which bring a countryside and warm atmosphere. For the observers, you will notice the works of a blacksmith here and there in the house, as well as the traces of the passage of a colonel who inhabited this residence. The favorite piece is unequivocally the summer kitchen at the East which serves as a dining room. It is fully fenestrated and this is where you can contemplate the breathtaking view of the majestic St. Lawrence River and su If you are lucky, you will be able to witness the seed or harvest of fields which are typical rural scenes. In addition, during the summer season, our laying hens (Chicken and Omelette) will provide you with 2 fresh eggs a day if they are courteous to you. On cold winter days, you'll enjoy warming up by the wood fire with a nice cup of tea or hot chocolate after a dog sled ride or just snowshoeing in the fields.

While, staying at the the river house in the fields, you will have access to the bedrooms, a bathroom, a restrooms, shower towels, a wood stove, a summer kitchen, washer and dryer, a kitchen fully equipped with dishwasher, a living room, cleaning products, an outdoor fireplace, an outdoor terrace with awning (in summer), a BBQ and tourist informations.
