This second floor two bedroom two bath unit features high ceilings, hardwood floors, modern décor and an open-concept kitchen and living space. Kitchen features include imported Carrera Marble counter tops and Kitchen Aid appliances. Living room features 65” smart tv with cable and wifi so you can keep up-to-date with all your online streaming shows. Both bathrooms adjoin bedrooms, but one is a 'jack and jill' style to the common area.

Grounds overlook Jaycee Park in the National Historic Fort Screven District which includes Soccer fields, basketball courts, shuffleboard, a playground and more. Tybee's bike path is great for touring the island and runs along the east side of the park.

Enjoy a short walk to North Beach to enjoy the sand and surf or a bite to eat at the North Beach Grill.

Free off-street parking for 2 vehicles makes staying on Tybee even easier for you and your guests.

Pool Seasonality: The Barracks Pool is open year-round. It is heated on the following date range:
October 1 – December 15
March 1 – May 30
The pool is not and will not be heated from December 15 through March 1 as the air temps are too cool to maintain an adequate swimming temp.

Cleaning Precautions: After each guest checks out, we have professional housekeepers clean each vacation home from top to bottom with disinfectant, wiping down all surfaces and floors. All towels and linens are professionally laundered and individually vacuumed packed until needed. When the housekeepers are complete a member of our team inspects the home, using gloves and/or disinfectant wipes, to ensure nothing was missed and restock any cleaning supplies. We strive to provide the most comfortable environment for your stay.

The condo was perfect for three adults. The kitchen was nice and well equipped. It is a short walk to the beach. The beds and linens were good too. The rental company was responsive to email, phone calls, and texts.

Fabulous

Loved the history of staying in these beautifully renovated WWI barracks. The unit was fresh, comfortable, well-designed and came with everything we needed - even daily coffee and creamer, beach towels, and placemats. Sitting on the quiet, breezy porch each morning was a highlight. And GREAT customer service!

The Barracks Experience

Loved, loved, loved the location of this rental. Easy access to amenities such as the ocean, restaurants, and shopping. The check-in process was simple and effortless. The pool was a very comfortable temperature, and we enjoyed the afternoon sun. The unit was well stocked with the exception of an iron, but after running into a property management individual, one was delivered ... thanks! Was a very enjoyable stay and hope to return some day to fully experience Savannah and Tybee Island.

Hidden Gem

Our family really enjoyed our stay at The Barracks! The property is gorgeous and in a perfect location that is just a short walk to the beach. The only downside to this property is the amount of bugs everywhere. There are also no dressers or TV’s in the bedrooms. Overall though, it was a great experience and we will be back despite the downsides.

Loved Staying at an Old Building!

We enjoyed staying here at The Barracks! It was neat to stay at a newly-renovated building that been used during the early 1900s. The front porch was perfect for relaxing or drying swimsuits; the the views of the trees and park were pleasant. The interior was spacious and chic. We loved the old floors and the high ceilings. And our kids definitely enjoyed the swimming pool. The walk to North Beach or the lighthouse took less than ten minutes and was a safe, easy walk. When we arrived, the key code for one of the exterior doors was not working, but the office immediately sent a friendly employee to fix the lock. I do think a daily groundskeeper would be beneficial for maintaining the sidewalks and the pool area. But neither of these things put a damper on our experience here. If you want the Tybee Island experience within walking distance to the beach but you prefer a quiet place to stay, this would be the perfect place for you. We hope to be back!

More than I even imagined

I'm leaving this review because I am always the traveler that reads hundreds of reviews before I get the nerve to book a place. If you're like me, don't hesitate one bit! I ended up choosing the Barraks for a getaway with my teenage sons and my 75 year old mom. I Spoke directly with the managers/owners before booking, and Kolin and Cory answered all of my questions and were extremely helpful with things in the area such as bike rentals, restaurants and beach info. We arrived late at night on a Sunday, the place was well lit and no problem getting into the unit. Pulling into that driveway and seeing this beautiful piece of history was magical. I come from a line of military grandfathers and my dad is retired from the Army after 30+ years so the history of not only this building, but the island itself was so cool! It was a unique history lesson for myself as well as my sons. We literally slept in spaces where American soldiers from WWI stayed. This building and these units were preserved and restored to their original glory, but with modern amenities, high end appliances, marble countertops and gorgeous bathrooms. Every room is clean, spacious, comfortable and the mattressesare the best I've ever had!. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning on the upper balcony, overlooking the beautiful park and had a wonderful breeze from the extra tall windows. The units do have central air, but the April breeze was what we wanted. The brand new heated pool and lounge chairs were perfect, it's a quiet area and the property itself is secluded but also right around the corner from everything. My sons enjoyed the game room in the basement, we rode bikes to the beach, different shops, the Lighthouse is a 5 minute walk and so many restaurants to choose from. You can walk to the golf cart rental place and little convenient store in 5 min. We didn't want to leave Tybee after this wonderful first time experience but we will definitely be back with the rest of our family. Unfortunately, when it was time for us to leave, our scheduled Lyft driver canceled last minute and the next driver would not have gotten us to the airport in time for our flight. I quickly asked Kolin (one of the managers/part owners) if he could suggest a taxi service or anyone else to get us there in time. He called a few places and when nobody was available, Kolin offered to drive us to the airport himself in his personal vehicle, and HE DID!!! I can't say enough about our experience here.

Family Beach Trip

We had a wonderful time staying at the barracks. perfect location to walk to the beach/park/restaurants but also felt very secluded where we had plenty of privacy.

Perfect for our first time on Tybee

Our stay at the Barracks was great - we really enjoyed staying in such a beautifully renovated peace of history on the island. There was a minor hiccup during our late check-in where our code didn’t work, but Kollin from Rendevous quickly rectified the situation over the phone. We’ll definitely be considering The Barracks for some extended family getaways!

Wonderful Accommodations

We loved the apartment! It was spacious and was great for entertaining given we had family over for dinner one evening. The beds were comfy, it was well appointed with furnishings and it was quiet. The balcony on the front porch was perfect for morning coffee. As history buffs we loved learning about Tybee Island. I only wish I could have found more before the renovation info on the building. We spent a day in Savannah, it was great to be so close. Thank you for sharing this beautiful building with us.

Perfect Spring Break Getaway!

This was an ideal spot for a Spring Break trip with my daughter (college junior). Clean, modern, and comfortable accommodations, and the view at sunset from our 2nd story porch (in rocking chairs), which overlooked an adjacent park with walking trails, was a great way to wind down from the day. This condo truly allowed us to experience the best of both locales - relaxing beach & bustling city. We were able to soak in the sun at Tybee Island North Beach, yet it was only a 30 minute drive to the sites of Savannah. This is the perfect time of year to stroll the historic neighborhoods & gorgeous parks (azaleas in full bloom!) & visit a variety of shops & restuarants in the city & along the river (before the crowds arrive for St. Patrick's Day). TIP: Be sure to download the ParkTyB app on your phone before heading out to explore Tybee Island (the parking kiosks at the beach and throughout the island don't work/ almost no free parking on the island). We had no issue finding parking in Savannah this time of year either, but it is all paid parking as well. Already planning to return to Tybee Island/Savannah with my husband!

Beautiful condo and great location

We enjoyed our stay at the Barracks. The condo was beautiful, comfortable and well stocked. The property management was very responsive as well. Only feedback I have is if you are staying on the side that overlooks the pool, people tend to swim late, late night and you can hear them. This happened twice during our stay and the management company was very responsive when we reported the first one. The second time wasn't as late and they didn't stay as long so we just let it go.

Beautiful condo!

We'll be back. This place is hip and modern, roomy and comfortable. Great location, wonderful porch with rocking chairs. Everything is as pictured. Love it.
