Ocean-Front Beach Cottage with 2 Bedrooms, 2 bath, Full Kitchen and shared deck

The single-story Cottage is a charming, quaint & relaxing Ocean-Front unit with white-water views, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, sleeps 6, with a full kitchen, 70”Smart TV, and "Gigablast" cable internet.

The Cottage has ocean white water views with no other property between you and the ocean! Watch the waves, surfers, dolphins, whales, boats and gorgeous sunsets (look for a "green flash"). The deck is shared with one other attached unit, which is also available on VRBO. Both units can be rented together for a total of 4 bedrooms (check the calendar for availability).

There is close beach access, down 109 stairs to the beach/beach trail or a quarter-mile drive to North Beach. The pier is a short one-mile walk. There is surfing directly in front of the house ("204s" on surfing maps, other surfing spots are a short drive). Beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and sand toys for children are available for free to our guests.

Disclaimer: There was a hill slide behind the property in early 2023. The property has been cleared by a geological engineer as safe. There is a safety fence, but the pool & spa are non-operational; all photos of the property are current and accurate. Prices have been reduced accordingly. Video camera monitoring the hill. ( absolutely no public space is monitored)

Free parking for two cars in the uncovered carport.

The property is completely Non-Smoking, including inside the apartment or on the deck or driveway. Smoking on the property or in the Cottage will result in a fee of $250.

No pets allowed. $250 fine if a animal is found on the property during your stay. *We keep our units pet free for the future guest and their possible allergy concerns. If a dog is bought to the unit we have to have the carpets clean and the unit complete sanitized so we can offer a pet environment. Which also takes an extra day to prepare again for the next guests. Thus this is why the $250 pet fee is charged.

No gatherings or parties are allowed. The booking guest must be 25 years old to rent the property.

Amazing ocean view

Convenient to nearby dining and shopping. Cool breeze from the ocean, access a few steps away! Host very responsive, plenty of space for a family. Loved it!

Very nice and plenty of room. Both sets of stairs to the beach were closed due to landslide (but that's totally not the owners fault). Had fun!

Beautiful View

We had a very relaxing time. It was a great view and plenty of room. The house itself is dated and the beach below isn’t really a beach unless you walk down quite a ways. But on the whole it was a great place to stay and you can’t beat being able to hear the ocean at night and open the doors and feel the breeze during the day.

Thanks for choosing to stay at our cottage. Sitting on sand in front of our place all depends on the tides. A short little walk to North Beach is possible where there is plenty of sand, bathrooms, parking and a life guard during the summer. The city is currently refurbishing the beaches with sand.

Our Stay

While the views were amazing, the condo was very tired and needs a thorough deep cleaning, new paint and new carpet. The condo was very dark inside, dust everywhere and mold in the showers. I would only recommend staying here if you want T to be close to the beach and don’t care about your living conditions.

Can’t please everyone all the time. We try. The unit was clean. Although we refunded her money to be nice and leave. Then she decided to stay. Guess it wasn’t as bad as she described. The cottage is quant, cute and vintage. Photos are current and accurate of what it looks like.

That view!!

We rented the cottage for elderly relatives who traveled from Colorado for Christmas. They loved it! The view, of course, the kitchen, the lovely bedroom, the comfy couch, and, perhaps above all, the 100% responsive and friendly host. I’ll add from my own perspective that I was disappointed with the dull, tired furnishings and decor. It could use some sprucing up! Regardless, thanks for giving our family a memorable week in our beautiful little town.

Lovely!

We loved our stay! Opening the doors in the morning and hearing the surf was incredibly restorative. The kitchen was perfect for us. We were able to cook lovely meals. The place is close to shopping and the beach. It’s quiet too. The host was great and communicative. Overall wonderful stay. Our only issue was that the bed in the first bedroom was small and my husband had to sleep on the couch for comfort. We would love a bigger bed in there. Still though, great place. Amazing views and highly, highly recommended.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes it is so relaxing to hear the waves. Just to clarify. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has a double bed and a twin And there’s a couch in the living room (queen size hide a bed).

Quick weekend getaway

In San Clemente from Canada for brother's 50th birthday and the property was a great location for us. We spent most of our time visiting family or shopping (cringe). It was unseasonably cold so the beach was touch and go. It was a very good thing that we had the wall heaters because the nights were cold. Fantastic view from the deck to the beach and ocean. Impressive washout of the cliff behind the property. Very good and prompt communication with the owner and we had no issues with the checkin or leaving. Our plane was delayed on departure and the owner gave us some grace for late checkout that was much appreciated. Good seaside home in a great location.

Ocean-Front Beach Cottage with 2 bedrooms,2 bath, Full Kitchen and shared deck

I wanted to escape Chicago’s winter and searched for ocean front property. Kim’s place was the most affordable place I could find. Not only did I get the ocean view, but the constant sound of ocean waves and the ocean breeze made for an excellent 3-week escape. Kim is an amazing host. She’s a text away if you have any questions. The cottage had an excellent smart TV, coffee maker, comfortable bed, great hot water, and the kitchen was equipped with all that I needed. Thank you, Kim, for making your home an inviting retreat for us snowbirds that need a retreat!

Amazing views!

My girlfriend and I stayed for 6 days. The view and ambiance outside at the pool was wonderful- we spent most of our time there. The inside was not sparkling clean, but passable. The furniture was old and and unit itself was dated. There were a few quirky things- could not get the dishwasher to close, but the owner was very responsive and told me the "trick"to getting it closed. We shared the pool and hot tub with the next door unit neighbors but it is a big area so we did have ample privacy. We walked on the beach everyday which was just steps down the hill. Overall we had a great stay.

Guests stay at our cottage for the views of the ocean from the deck with the pool. New wood flooring was installed this last spring to the cottage, along with new carpet in the bedrooms. The whole property was recently painted outside. We call it a cottage as it was built mid century. It’s charming not old. Look at my photos and decide for yourself.

Sunshine Getaway in a perfect location!

This charming, vintage beach cottage was a wonderful place to soak up some sun for a few days. Home owner (Kim) was delightful and checked in multiple times during our stay. On-site manager (Madison) was warm and welcoming and helped us with the keyless entry. We we were out and about most of the day as there is a lot to enjoy. We enjoyed being steps from a beach access and the Beach Trail. Had lunch at Fisherman’s on San Clemente Pier after walking the trail end to end. (Saw a pod of dolphin and a whale!) We loved breakfast at the snack shack -West Toast Cafe. Location is ideal, we took in Dana Point and San Juan Capistrano both an easy drive from the cottage. Views from the patio are breathtaking, especially at sunset. Although we did not use the pool, it was beautiful. Hope to Be back again!

Perfect place for relaxing weekend.

This was my second time staying at this property and it won’t be the last. This rental is everything advertised and more. The location, views, pool and deck are incredible. Waking up and walking outside to see the beautiful ocean view is breathtaking.

Awesome getaway at the beach!

It's as good as it looks. In fact, the outdoor area exceeded all expectations. Feels like staying at a private resort. The property was well kept and had everything we needed. Kim was super responsive and easy to communicate with. We rented both cottages so we had the entire property to ourselves, but can see how it would work well with 2 separate reservations. A gazebo on each side of the property give enough room to lounge and not interact if you don't want to. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen well-equipped and plenty of room to eat and spread out. Would definitely stay again!

Fantastic property to rest and relax

An amazing view. A perfect place to unwind as you watch the surfers below. You can kick back on a lounger to catch some rays or red a book. The property manager and owner work in tandem to make sure your stay is perfect. 10 out of 10! Worth every penny!!!
