Fully renovated barn on a relaxing pastoral lakeview property

Shepherd’s Hill Farm highlights the natural beauty of rural Southern Minnesota with thoughtfully designed gardens, a fully renovated barn and sweeping lawns to provide the ideal setting for your weekend getaway. We work cooperatively with local farmers to raise grass-fed beef as well as clover honey. In the spring, summer, and fall, the farm’s 75 acres are dotted with grazing cattle.

Perfect for our guys weekend

Good location and setting for our guys weekend - hosts were helpful to direct us to nearby fishing lakes and a local supply store for bait. Enjoyed fire pit, large kitchen and lots of sleeping options. We were there on a cool weekend so the lack of air wasn’t an issue for us.

Get together for wedding to come!

What a great stay we had! It was a perfect, quiet property to have a large group together. The owners were greeted us and were very responsive if we had any questions. Would love to stay again some time!

We had a large group of family staying for our sons wedding. The barn space was perfect! Plenty of room and thankful for the two bathrooms!! The setting was beautiful!!

Perfect Spot

This was the perfect location for a bunch of college friends to get together and reminisce. Big kitchen, good seating areas and a ping pong table! Only sadness was it was too windy to use the outdoor fire pit. Maybe next time!

Perfect get-away for ladies weekend

This renovated barn was absolutely stunning inside and out! The pictures don’t do it justice, it’s just like a magnolia homes barn and is situated on a gorgeous property! The owners greeted us upon our arrival and were friendly and accommodating. This was the perfect venue for our ladies weekend away! Would definitely love to stay again sometime!

Weekend Golf Getaway

Stayed here for a weekend with a group of guys for a golf getaway weekend and it was a perfect property for us. Tons of space and beds for everyone. Plenty of space for yard games, and inside there is a huge area where you can play ping pong, cards, or bean bag toss. This was a perfect setup for us, and we plan to return if we come back to this area in coming years.

Wonderful Stay

Beautiful property impeccably maintained and fully equipped to host any sized gathering! Our group of 12 stayed to celebrate a graduation- just 25 minutes from Northfield so we could host friends and family for the afternoon following the graduation. The peaceful setting provided respite from the activities and out of state guests loved the surroundings. Thank you for helping us celebrate our graduate and enjoy very special time together!

Wedding party retreat

Our stay at SHF was nothing short of amazing. We stayed there with our wedding party two days before our wedding, and the property was perfect. The hosts were extremely accommodating, and they were always quick to respond. Our two night stay was filled with laughter, love, and us all living our best life. Beautiful refurbished barn

Wonderful property. Great facility for a family stay or a small gathering. We had a graduation party for our daughter there. We’re from out of town so we’re not sure what to expect but everything we needed was already there. Chairs, tables, beverage dispensers etc There is not a fire pit but we didn’t need it Owner was very responsive and brought over matches when we forgot to get them Everyone had a great time and commented and what a nice place it was

Fantastic retreat from the pace of daily life

Our family had a wonderful day full of joy, laughter, and serenity. Sunset walks with pasture views, feeding apples to the cows, piano playing, board games, ping pong and just catching up in an amazing converted barn. THANK YOU!

Fun night getaway!

We booked the barn for a fun overnight stay with 3 other couples. It was such an awesome night! The boys went pheasant hunting at Caribou gun club in the morning and we all met up at the barn to hang out. The barn had everything you need! Would definitely recommend this barn to friends and family!

Really unique and incredible

We found this place for a larger group and it was absolutely perfect. There was more than enough space for everyone and an incredible experience. Everyone loved the location and the memories made are invaluable. Anything we could think of that we needed was already there. Definitely recommend for anyone who's looking for beautiful scenery, lots of space, and a perfect spot to host lots of people! I would absolutely come back here again!

Fantastic spot for a big group

We threw a bachelor party for my buddy and the place was perfect for what we needed. Tons of space, lots of beds (and room for air mattresses). We golfed and played paintball nearby. Only risk is temperature. Without AC a hot weekend is a risk but they supplied lots of fans and we were able to keep it reasonably cool. Great value. Would recommend.

Great space for a bachelor party.

Our stay at Shepard’s Hill Farms Barn was perfect for our group. Both Steve and Cindy we're very welcoming and offered to help with anything we needed. It's was a hot weekend but the barn stayed cool on the lower level. At night with the windows open the barn was very comfortable for sleeping. The location is close to Montgomery, MN but secluded enough for a getaway for the hustle and bustle of the Twin Cities. Would recommend the Barn to anyone interested in hosting larger group gatherings.

Everything we expected

Had 14 guys staying the weekend for a bachelor party. The lean-to area was great for several cornhole tourneys and ping pong matches. Not able to get outside or have a fire but plenty of room if good weather. Was everything we expected.

Beautiful rural Minnesota, Land of 10,000 Lakes.

Very relaxing. Nice to walk around the property with my dog. I saw eagles, pheasants, a crane, a turkey and a skunk! The 2 lakes around the property were beautiful. The barn was very comfortable. Nice shower. We played ping pong and cornhole games. Full kitchen. The owners were very relaxed and fun to talk to. Nice way to experience rural Minnesota!

Steve and Cindy have owned Shepherd's Hill Farm since 1993. The Barn at Shepherd's Hill hosts small weddings, family reunions, retreats and gatherings. It has also hosted a concert series and has served as the location for an album recording and a movie. A convenient short drive from the Twin Cities, it has become a very popular rural retreat. It would be our pleasure to talk with you about your next visit to our unique property.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The Barn@Shepherd's Hill Farm is comfortable during the four seasons of Minnesota weather. In-floor ground source heating makes the barn cozy during cold weather while the the earth sheltered lower level is comfortable during warmer weather. The barn is not airconditioned but we have box fans if needed.
