Rod and Shelly are lifelong residents of the New Prague area with some of Rod's closest friends calling him Mr. New Prague! Rod is a Real Estate Broker and operates his business from the lower level of the property. Shelly works as an Office Manager at a local business. Rod's energetic personality combined with Shelly's attention to detail make them your perfect local hosts to enjoy the greater New Prague area. The Ballinger Suite offers comfortable accommodations that will be stress free.

The Ballinger Suite was originally the private residence of Julis Ballinger an entrepreneur who built the home in 1940 next door to his dairy known as The New Prague Dairy which latter became Ballinger Dairy. From the mid 1920’s to 1964 the dairy processed milk, butter and ice cream delivering the products by horse and buggy and latter by trucks to the New Prague area.. There was also a retail counter to purchase ice cream treats. The business was sold to Clover Leaf in 1964 and moved operations in the 1990’s. The original diary building sits directly east of the Ballinger Suite and has been converted into street level offices and upper-level apartments. During your stay you will discover a mini museum of pictures and artifacts of the dairy creating an iconic presentation to a small town business that was located in a self sufficient town of other businesses that provided nearly everything for the residents.

Rod and Shelly travel frequently and understand the requirements of a "quality stay" in a lodging adventure. Their goal is to deliver guests a relaxing "quality stay experience" that starts from booking through checkout. Upon opening the door you will discover an updated upper level suite that was formerly a 1940's home with local history. You will be on main street New Prague with easy walks to restaurants, taverns, the brewery, coffee shops, bakeries, public golf course, trails and parks. Each room has a lockable door, closet, sofa and 43" smart TV to accommodate up to two adults in each room. A 3/4 bath with tile shower is convenient to the sleeping rooms. The unit is flexible in that the living room adjoins a lightly equipped kitchenette with a sink, full fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hot plate, and slow cooker. A deck with a privacy fence offers outdoor seating and a gas grill. The property is ideal for a romantic getaway, a family vacation or a couple’s adventure. There is private parking with space to accommodate two cars plus a boat or golf cart trailer.
