Trout Cove Cabin - Fish, Hike & Relax all in one setting just North of Decorah

Come enjoy great trout fishing right outside of this remodeled and modernized cabin!

The cabin boasts a brand new full bathroom and brand new private bedroom on the main floor. In addition, brand new central heating and cooling was installed to keep you comfortable year round. The new main bedroom includes a queen bed and dresser. The second bedroom is a large loft that includes 3 single beds and one full bed. The living room includes a leather, pull-out couch that can sleep additional guests. The brand new full bathroom includes a walk-in shower, washer & dryer, vanity, and toilet. The kitchen is fully stocked and includes everything you need to cook any meal. There is also an enclosed three-season porch to enjoy views of the valley. Lastly, the cabin includes two TVs with a DVD player if the weather doesn't cooperate. Wifi along with a roku stick for the TV is also provided.

Outside, the cabin includes a nice covered deck (gas grill and patio set for use) overlooking the Canoe Creek Valley. There is a carport next to the cabin for 2 vehicles to be parked under and out of the elements. Firewood is also provided to enjoy peaceful bonfires outside.

The property includes mowed creek frontage with many deep fishing holes as well as various wildlife and wildflowers scattered throughout the 24 acres. In 2023, major stream bank and trout habitat improvements were made on this property in partnership with the Natural Resource Conservation. Annually, the DNR stocks over 1,700 rainbow trout in this stream. The stream also includes wild brown trout. You will have access to this entire 24 acre parcel along with adjoining public fishing properties. Mushroom hunting can also be great on this property. Seed Savers Exchange is less than 2 miles away!

Perfect getaway for fishing

We had a wonderful time at this cabin. It’s located in the perfect spot for fly fishing and was quiet and secluded. The property was beautiful and the inside of the cabin was cozy. We would highly recommend and will stay here again!

Luther Graduation

The cabin fit our needs perfectly. We got up and went for a long walk on the trails in the morning and sat outside on the covered deck and played cards in the afternoon. Plenty of room for everyone to meet up and spend quality family time together between events.

Trout Cabin

The cabin was great, perfect size for the four of us. Good distance from other trout streams and good food/drink. The cabin overall was good, clean, and comfortable! Would recommend staying there.

Beautiful views

The cabin was perfect for our fishing trip. We enjoyed watching the turkey and deer as we watched the sunset on the covered deck.

Location was perfect for fishing the Upper Iowa

Very good stay. Location was great- within 15 minutes of all our fishing stops. The house suited four of us well. NIce large bathroom with plenty of hot water.

Great visit!

This is our third visit and we will be back. Cabin is not fancy, but has everything we needed. Spent time trout fishing and just enjoying nature. I highly suggest this cabin if you are looking for a getaway away from it all!

A very quiet and clean get away

The cabin was very cozy, clean, and quiet. A wonderful setting with all the comforts needed to relax and get away. Brendon was very responsive and helpful. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent location for trout fishing! Communication was handled promptly.So, we new how to meal prep

Love the location and distance from town to do activities with our family. Was above and be on handle cook a meal as a family. And love that all the items with cookware was at this location. That’s a plus, with a family. The accommodations were above our expectations! Great getaway if you love nature.

Family Getaway

The property was exactly what we were looking for---private and peaceful with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for our family of 3. The host Brendon was very responsive and provided detailed instructions for the check-in and check-out process. The cabin is fully equipped with everything you need and the carport was nice to protect our vehicle from the elements.

Great get away!

This was our second visit, but not last. This property is perfect for those wanting to be in nature. Clean, comfortable house, with plenty of wildlife to watch! Great trout streams nearby. Hosts are responsive to questions. Great place to stay!

Adorable clear cabin

Nothing fancy about it, which is exactly what we wanted. A simple place that had running water, electricity and a bed at night. Streams that are on the property were well maintained. Lots of wildlife around. We will definitely be staying here again!

Cabin with Trout Stream

We enjoyed our stay immensely.. The inside of the house was very nice, though somewhat dated. A lot of the outside was a little bit unkept and needed some work. It is a very nice location and convenient to many local attractions. Plus fishing in the creek was pretty good.

Great get away!

We had a great time at this cabin. We walked down to the trout stream and caught a couple trout! We drove to close by streams and caught trout. Sitting on the porch was so relaxing even though it was hot during our stay, the breeze kept it comfortable. The cabin is well stocked and very comfortable. We will definitively be back.

Fishing trip

Absolutely wonderful. Very peaceful quiet place, close to Canoe creek for fishing. I will be back. Went with son in law and he stated he will bring his family up there. Loved the fact that it was a dark area so stars at night were amazing. Lots of wildlife to see, even got to meet neighbors dog, which we named Ralph, very well trained and friendly.

Awesome second time around

This was our second start here First one in November of 2021!!! It was awesome then and we just did 4th of July 2023 and it was just as awesome!!! Caught a bunch of trout, enjoyed the views of the property and spent time in town swimming at Trout Run Park
