It may say STUDIO, but it's so much more.... We are located in the Coastal zone of Manhattan Beach. Short term rentals are permitted in our area. We welcome guests for stays of 3 days or more.

Welcome to The Surf Room! Come and live and play like a local in our coastal inspired guest apartment, in the highly desirable Sand Section just steps from the famous white sand of Manhattan Beach, California. This large 700 square foot studio apartment has a private entrance, parking for one car, and everything that you need to experience beach life at it's best. It's walking distance to the Pier and the downtown area, the heart of the city (as well as Hermosa Beach) which is filled with casual to fine dining restaurants, boutique shops and retailers.

The Surf Room is conveniently located on one of Manhattan Beach's famed walkstreets, a short walk to the sand and bike path in the popular south end.

The Surf Room is our large beach-oriented studio apartment. It has plenty of room for relaxing, as well as ample storage (hooks for hanging beach paraphernalia, towels and beach bags, cubbies for storage). It has a separate bathroom area with a walk in shower, a bar area for morning coffee and/or afternoon drinks and snacks, lots of seating for just hanging out. You will also have access to a private outdoor area with views of our lovely beach, use of bikes, and beach supplies that you may need during your visit. And parking for one car right outside your door! Our family enjoys it, and we'd love to share it with you.

The unit is set up to accommodate two people. A maximum of 2 people are allowed to stay overnight in the Surf Room. Any adjustment to this must be OK'ed by us at time of booking.

Our unit is in a prime location, steps to the sand, walk to downtown Manhattan Beach with shops and restaurants, also a 20-minute walk or short bike ride to Hermosa Beach with it's restaurants and nightlife. *Please note* our home is located in a lovely residential neighborhood, so large groups, excessive noise, and late nights are discouraged. Absolutely no smoking or vaping (or use of any type of illegal drugs) allowed on the property, including on the patio.

**FYI** In order to make your vacation as enjoyable as possible, we cannot accept last minute reservations. We require at least 3 days notice. The Surf Room is a private studio located on the lower level of our home, and we live here full time. We like to have time to prepare the unit to provide you with the best experience possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Wonderful spot in Manhattan Beach

This is a great place from which to explore Manhattan Beach. Only a block from the beach and an easy walk to all the great restaurants. We especially enjoyed sitting on the patio looking out over the waves. The hosts were very welcoming and provided great communication.

Manhattan Beach Surf Room

I had a wonderful experience staying at Phil and Micaā€™s Surf Room. I traveled by myself, and I found the accommodations and location perfect for my weekend in Manhattan Beach. I was able to walk to all the nearby restaurants and bars. The room was very spacious and had all the amenities I needed. Phil and Mica were excellent hosts, and I would happily stay at their place again.

Perfect Stay by the Strand

It felt like it is was our own little bungalow by the beach! If you enjoy being by the ocean, walking to cute coffee/breakfast bars in the morning and biking on the strand then this is THE place to stay! Total surfer vibe throughout the place! Phil and Mica are great hosts to work with and very responsive if any needs come up! Would stay here every time!!!

Excellent location

Phil and Mica were very accommodating. They didnā€™t hesitate to let our son stay and visit with us there for a couple of days. Place is very quaint and comfortable. Enjoyed relaxing on the patio area. Absolutely loved being able to walk to the beach every day.

MB Stay

Loved this little gem of a place. Same price or less than a hotel room and much much roomier. It was extremely clean and the owners were so personable and responsive. The neighborhood is perfect and quiet and the studio is a block from the beach. Weā€™ll definitely be back in the future!

Stayed for 3 nights in mid January and had a great time. Location is perfect and walking distance to downtown MB. If you are trying to work remotely, may want to bring your own hot spot as WiFi is somewhat spotty. Otherwise, highly recommend!

This place was perfect. The owners are lovely! They communicated was excellent! They had bikes we could use, the house is clean and decorated so cute! The patio has an ocean view. We loved everything about our stay! We hope to go back soon.

A Lovely Stay in The Surf Room

I had a lovely five-night stay in The Surf Room and highly recommend it for anyone looking to stay in Manhattan Beach. Everything about the property was wonderful - the location, the decor, how it was equipped, etc. In addition, Phil and Mica were great hosts. I have no suggestions regarding anything that could be improved.

Perfect All Around

We stayed at Phil & Micaā€™s Surf Room for our daughterā€™s graduation and they made us feel welcome from our very first communication! The space is thoughtfully arranged & furnished while the location is ideal. We especially enjoyed early morning coffee on the terrace.. Friendly neighborhood, easy walking distance to everything. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful experience

My daughter and I stayed here for Easter. It was a great and comfortable space. The unit is on the bottom floor, and the owners live directly above the rented area. They are very helpful and attentive to the renterā€™s needs.

Wonderful stay!!

This spot is in the perfect location. Just a block away from the beach, and 10 mins from all the restaurants and shops! The room was spacious and clean, nice little kitchen area, comfy bed, and the outdoor area was nice to enjoy! The owners are very communicative, they live right above in case you need anything. You may hear their elevator and cat meowing but other than that it was pretty quiet!! We would stay again!

Lovely basement Surf Room

Great location to beach. Nice outdoor area and beautiful flowers surrounding. There was no dishwasher or stove if you were staying for a long time. Refrigerator didnā€™t have a freezer. Nice place for a short stay however.

We have furnished the apartment in a comfortable beach oriented decor. We will also supply our visitors with everything needed for the perfect vacation at the beach. We have moved three times within Manhattan Beach since first moving here in 1977, finally getting to where we wanted to be, just steps from the beach and the Pacific ocean. We built this house from the ground up, incorporating everything that we ever wanted in a beach home. Our property is located in the highly desirable south end of the Sand Section. It is in a residential area, so you will definitely experience "living like a local". Everything is within short walking and biking distances (both Manhattan and Hermosa beach cities).

O que faz essa propriedade ser Ćŗnica?

Our rental may say "Studio", but it's much much more. We built it for our own four children and their families to use when they visit (as they all live out of state now), to have place to put their stuff, shower, and relax after a day in the sun and sand with their children. In other words, their own private space to relax and enjoy. The unit includes a large sitting area, bar with small refrigerator and microwave, large walk-in shower, lots of storage, Queen-size bed. Unlike most studios, you will sleep in a regular bed and still have a large sitting area to eat and relax in. You will also have access to a private outdoor area overlooking the beach to sit and sip your morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine! Also, parking for one car is right outside the door!!!
