The Retreat at Hempstead is nestled on five acres in quiet Hempstead, Texas. The property includes a beautiful newly renovated 4900 sq. ft. country home - THE RETREAT HOUSE and a 2160 sq. ft. event venue - THE BARN @ THE RETREAT (requires separate event fees). Whether you are looking for a girl's weekend getaway, family vacation or reunion, birthday or graduation celebration, weddings and anniversaries, scouting weekend or small group/corporate day or night retreat, we have the location just for you!

The Retreat House has 6 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and kids/teen sleeping and lounge room. Accommodates 24 people (up to 28 with sofa beds and futons). Large game room includes bar with seating for 4, living room area, dining table seats 14, breakfast room seats 6, and kitchen bar seating. The multi-purpose room with mounted flat screen television is ideal for meetings and presentations, wellness and yoga, arts and crafts.
Enjoy the outdoors bug free on the 2000 sq. ft. screened in patio. Sip and Soak in the Hot Tub and Bar area. Lounge by the fireplace, cook on the grill, dine al fresco or just relax with a good book or take in a sunrise/sunset.

Take a walk on the nature trail, cast your luck in the stocked catch and release pond, take an afternoon nap in one of the hammocks, and end the night with a campfire under the stars.

Plenty of outdoor games and activities for all ages. Basketball, ping pong, volleyball, badminton, archery, horseshoes, corn-hole and more!

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the sights and sounds of the outdoors. Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway with family and friends or planning that special event, come see why moments become memories at The Retreat at Hempstead.

THE BARN EVENT SPACE rental fee includes 60" round tables, chairs, cocktail tables, cake table, gift table, bar, arbor, linens, centerpieces and sound system.

This was the absolute best location for my husbands camp themed birthday party, we had 18 guests and plenty of room for games activities and no shortage of places to sleep. Thank you so much!

Wonderful Retreat for the Weekend!

This property was an incredible spot for a ladies retreat weekend, and Jennifer and Tracy were such attentive and helpful hosts! The house was spacious and clean as described, but we especially loved the large screened back porch, hammocks, fire pit, and hot tub areas. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend it!

Great get-together for my dad's birthday

Definitely a retreat

If you are looking for a quiet, secluded getaway this is it. A peaceful property with lots of good old fashioned fun (hammocking, board games, hot tub, ping pong, fireplace and bond fire, etc.). Plenty of room to spread out and relax.

Simply amazing!

This house is beautiful and cozy! There are plenty of activities to do and enjoy with friends and family. Kudos for Jennifer and Tracy who are awesome hosts. They were always in close communication and made us feel very comfortable.

We have enjoyed this home & property as well as the communication from the owners that we chose to return for a THIRD time - and it did not disappoint! It doesn't get any better

The Retreat at Hempstead is an amazing place to get together. The location, accommodations, and property manager were all 1st class. We enjoyed the privacy of the house, the proximity to College Station (went to Bush Library, and A&M Football game), and all the house had to offer: game room, fishing, hot tub, firepit. Highly recommend it.

Amazing Vacation

Our stay was amazing! The property was beautiful and comfortably accommodated all our guest. Check in was a breeze. any problems we encountered were addressed promptly and we were given direction on how to resolve the. My family thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The only regret we have is that there had been no rain and the pond was low, but the children and adults still enjoyed the fishing experience. Some of the kids were able to catch their first fish. I will definitely recommend this property to my friends and colleagues as well as my family to theirs.

2024 sales Meeting kickoff

We used the property to host a sales meeting. The living room space worked great for our meeting with the big TV and plenty of room to be comfortable. Lots of activities available like ping pong, horse shoes, corn hole, shuffle board and lots more. Setting was quite and peaceful. Fire pit was great! Best of the Best

I was blown away by this property and communication. The place was FULLY stocked (unlike so many places that will welcome you to bring 30 people for 2 nights and provide 4 rolls of toilet paper and one paper towel). Condiments, spices, paper products....TONS of outdoor games. 2 great grills, fishing supplies. Netflix, great internet...tons of space. I can't wait to take my group back!!

Family Gathering

This was the perfect place for our large family to get together! This was the first time our family was all together since our mother passed away in October. It was the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying family! The property was so spacious that you never felt like you were sitting on top of each other. The large screened in porch was perfect for hanging out (and keeping the little ones contained). There was equipment available for many activities to enjoy as well. You felt like you were way out in the country somewhere even though there are neighbors. The owners responded quickly to questions we had as well. Our family is already talking about staying here again later in the year.

Wonderful Christmas at The Retreat!

My family had a wonderful Christmas celebration at The Retreat at Hempstead. The house is beautiful and nicely decorated for Christmas. It fit our family very well. We especially appreciated being able to all fit around the dining table (with the breakfast chairs on the corners), The house is so well supplied; we even found nice serving dishes for our Christmas dinner! The weather reduced our time outside, but it cleared enough for us to enjoy the patio fireplace. We even talked about returning in the summer so that we can enjoy the outside activities. The Monkey House is full of fun outdoor toys! We also appreciate how well managed the property is -- from the details you supplied prior to our trip, to the Welcome Book and all the helpful signage in the house and on the property. THANK YOU!!

Perfect place for wedding festivities and Thanksgiving.

My family totally enjoyed our stay here. My daughter got married nearby. Out-of-town guests stayed overnight, and in-town guests joined us for her shower the day before her wedding and a Thanksgiving meal the day after her wedding. We used the lovely long dining room table for the shower, the great big "empty room" with four round tables for our Thanksgiving meal, and the Fire Pit circle by the lake for our "three-legged black pot meal". The space was perfect for us. On top of that, the house had almost everything we needed - the only thing we needed to bring was a roaster for our turkey, a sharp knife for carving it and a few extra crockpots (along with the two provided) to keep warm our mashed potatoes, dressing, corn, squash, etc.....!!! Our hostess answered all my emails immediately as we prepared for our stay and let me go snoop around the kitchen a week ahead (thanks!) to see what was there. She also let us know on her own initiative that the house was ready for us early on our arrival date (VERY much appreciated as we got to have a relaxing afternoon before getting dinner prepared). I have two more daughters who may get married some day - this is where I would want our family to gather again.

Our family purchased this property in July 2019 and underwent a three-month renovation. We wanted to be able to share our beautiful retreat we created, hence our name The Retreat at Hempstead, with family and friends. But we didn't stop there and opened our dream getaway to other vacationers and even created an event space, THE BARN at The Retreat, for weddings, rehearsal dinners, family reunions, birthdays and more.

The Retreat at Hempstead is our mini resort with so much to do. Soak your worries away in the hot tub or sip your cares away at the outdoor bar. Fishing, horseshoes, archery, ping pong, cornhole, ladder ball, basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard, air hockey, poker, and games galore. Relax on the 2000 sq ft screened in patio, nap or read a good book in the hammock zone, see the stars and enjoy s'mores at the 625 sq ft flagstone fire pit, listen to the sounds of the lighted fountain or fish for largemouth bass off the floating dock in the 1/2 acre stocked pond.
