Come Stay And Play At The Lazy Dolphin

The Lazy Dolphin is the perfect place to relax and unwind, sit on the lanai with a cup of coffee and watch the dolphins who like to hang out right at the shores edge! They have been known to make trips to this area several times a day for feeding, thus came the name, The Lazy Dolphin! This 2 bedroom, 2 bath home has everything you need! The kitchen is fully stocked from a crock pot, griddle, blender, french coffee press, to pots and pans and bakeware. The master bedroom has a king size bed with ensuite bathroom and the guest bedroom has a queen size bed, both with cozy furnishings. The second bathroom is off of the kitchen. The master bedroom and living room both have cable T.V. while the guest room has Roku T.V. so you can stream all your favorite shows on Netflix, Hulu, & more. There are also several movies and board games for when Mother Nature is not being cooperative. The screened in lanai has a BBQ grill and plenty of seating for the whole family. Directly in front of the driveway is a walk over mini bridge for beach access at your own little private beach! In the fenced in backyard there is a outdoor shower for easy clean up after the beach. Come have some fun in the sun at The Lazy Dolphin!! Our new addition to the rental market, The Lazy Dolphin II can also be rented for extra space or by other guests. A pet is welcome depending on size and breed, please inquire.

Excellent Stay

This is the second time we've stayed at the lazy dolphin and will absolutely be back. Its a great house, private beach, well stocked kitchen, always clean, and the kayaks are always fun. Thank you for providing it to us. See you next time!

Great little place

We had so much fun and the property is very nice. The beach across street was full of hermit crabs and sea life for the kids to explore. The kayaks were great to take out and so nice of owners to have those for us to use. St. George is just a short 15 minute drive and we beached at the state park where the water was gorgeous! The owners had all you needed for a great vacation

Relaxing

Lovely beachfront getaway. Loved the natural setting and no crowds. The property is nice and has been updated well. The kitchen is well stocked. Plenty of outdoor fun to be had. Beach chairs, PFDs, kayaks, grill on site. The backyard could use a little attention, but all in all good experience.

Wonderful place with dolphins across the street!

This was an excellent place to stay. It is right on a small beach frequented by playful dolphins! We really enjoyed watching them in the mornings when the water is calm. The property is close to larger beaches and shopping and eating areas. We loved being close to Carrabelle, Apalachicola, Port St. Joe, Mexico Beach, and Crawfordville. The opening to beach access directly across the street is overgrown and would be easier to see and enjoy if it were incuded in the lawn service. The porch would be more enjoyable if the chairs were cleaner and the decor more inviting. The seating areas would be better if the furniture were updated. Overall this was a great place to stay and enjoy the area.

The property was nice but had a moldy smell. There were a few things we thought would be at the house based on the description that were not there like beach towels. We had to purchase when would have just brought from home.

Beach Getaway

The house is cute and relatively clean. The house was equipped with everything you might need and a fenced in backyard for our dogs to use. The king size bed was comfortable. The screened-in Lanai allowed us to enjoy the sounds of the waves. Dolphin sightings almost daily. The "private beach" is difficult to use. There are tree stumps & debris all over the beach. However, the public beach is a very short walk & there are hermit crabs to explore that live on the tree stumps and rocks on the beach. The only issue that we encountered was after a storm and the electric had flashed our thermostat seemed to keep resetting itself to a higher temperature. All night I was fighting with this thermostat and the next day I got a call from Patty, who asked me to keep the thermostat at 68. I have a disability and I suffer from heat intolerance so it was hard for me to be comfortable at this temperature but I was trying to compromise. The next night I woke up sick because someone had reset the temp to 70Ā°. I reached out to the rental company and found the owner had been resetting my thermostat. After I explained to them that my need for the lower temp was a medical condition, they obliged and we did not have another issue. I was a bit perturbed at this because there was nothing in the rental agreement or house rules that gave a limitation on house temperatures. All in all, we would stay again just with the understanding that I need the house a little bit cooler than the average person.

Beautiful view

Great house and view! We really had a wonderful time. Very dog friendly. The beach is not very big and the bay water wasnā€™t very clear. We went over to St. George for a bigger beach on the gulf - only 30 minute drive. But having water right across the street was wonderful. I would definitely go back.

Awesome weekend getaway!

We had so much fun spending the weekend at the lazy dolphin! We had been wanting to take our dog to the beach and we knew our time was limited because heā€™s getting old and thankfully I had a friend recommend this place, so I figured Iā€™d check it out. It is a perfect setup. The backyard is nice and secure and the screened in porch area is a great way to sit out front to watch the view while also still having your dogs with you and the comfort of being secure. We loved having the private beach, especially since we had our dogs. It was perfect and we will also recommend to our friends/family.

We saw dolphins with our coffee every morning!

The perfect space for 3 or 4 people! Very dog friendly as well! The fenced in yard was a plus for our pups! We were not able to use the shower off of the kitchen due to a back up of dirty water when turned on but thankfully had the shower in the back of the house for all of us. I called to discuss the shower and was told they would send someone out during our visit but that never happenedā€¦Besides that, it was a very pleasant stay. I loved the screened room for evening hanging out and grilling!

Great, clean, affordable family vacation spot!

We had a few days to escape during our kids' spring break, and we wanted a laid back spot away from the crowds where we could just enjoy some quiet time without all the regular distractions of school, work, and activities. The kids enjoy kayaking, so the included water sports equipment was a huge plus in choosing this property. It is beautifully decorated and smelled great when we arrived. The washer and dryer was super convenient! All the amenities we needed were provided. We love supporting small local businesses, so we ate at a few small local restaurants and enjoyed chatting with our servers and owners. Every meal was awesome! The kitchen allowed us to eat in when we didn't want to venture out. We picked a DVD from the large selection of movies and had a wonderful movie night! The lanai seemed to be everyone's favorite spot to gather and enjoy the sunrise and coffee and feel the breeze off the gulf in the mornings before heading out. The private beach was definitely private! We encountered very few other people and were able to enjoy each other's company. I would note that it is across the road from the house, something that might be more important for parents of young children or elderly guests. The house is split into 2 rentals under the same roof, but we never heard the other people who where next door aside from an occasional cough. It was still very peaceful. It was exactly the vacation we wanted! Many thanks to the host for sharing with us!

Enjoyed it

The house had everything we needed. Everything was thought of; kitchen was stocked with kitchen essentials, bathrooms had body wash shampoo and conditioners, grill for BBQ and a bag of charcoal, beach chairs and beach supplies, kayaks, bikes. We enjoyed our stay. Patty(from the management company) is very nice when we skope to her. Very happy we picked this property, we enjoyed our stay! Thank you so much. We stayed at Lazy Dolphin 1. Preferred it over the property next to it especially because of the wide class windows that allowed us to have an unobstructed ocean view and the interior decor. Communication was very good as well when booking. Keep up the good work in providing amazing accommodations. Will recommend!

The Lazy Dolphin was an amazing stay! Itā€™s updated, clean, and so comfy.

We could see dolphins swimming from the porch. It was so amazing to see them up close. It was the perfect vacation getaway for our family. The Lazy Dolphin was a great place to stay with all the comforts of home and more. The only downfall was the brown water in the Gulf due to the seaweed and nearby river delta. It was our first but not last time in Carrabelle.

Birthday trip

The stay at the Lazy Dolphin was very nice except for the 1st night there were these small black bugs with wings that came out in the house, like they hatched out or something. All over the house drawn to the lights. Then the next nights they were gone. A lot of them that first night came out of nowhere. Really weird! Other than that, the stay was very nice.

Celebration of Birthdays

Mother and I decided to celebrate our Birthdays in the sleepy area we lived in almost 50 years ago. The location is perfectly between panacea and Apalachicola. The drive here is easy. The sunrise and sunsets are beautifully majestic. If you do not mind a little road noise becUse it right across from the scenic Hwy 98 it is just perfect. The coastline is different in that there are ancient cedar knots in the sand which make it even more special. I absolutely treasured this trip.

Overall great vacay

Great location with private beach across the road. Be prepared for a different beach experience with beautiful cypress stumps and lots of seaweed. We loved it though and day tripped to St. George Island State Park a few times when we wanted white "typical" beach. Apalachicola was close as well so we took advantage of the cute shops there. There was a snafu with the AC in our unit for the first couple of days but the property manager/rental company was great with communication and we were able to stay in the adjoining unit until the AC was fixed. Rental was really cute and comfortable with lots of beach items to borrow, kayaks, bikes, toys, etc. We had a great time.

Comfortable stay right across from the beach

Clean house with lots of extras to make your stay comfortable. We loved having all the beach equipment available to use. The kitchen is well stocked. We prepared most of our meals at home. The location is perfect! Few steps to a PRIVATE beach area and just minutes to the town. We did a day trip St. George Island also, Thank your for making our family trip so relaxing and enjoyable!
