Cape Calm is a spacious four bedroom, gulf front, pet-friendly home completed September 2019 and located just north of the Stumphole and minutes from the Cape Trading Post and Scallop Cove. This house is rental perfection with its open floor plan and panoramic 360 degree views from every window. With two large, covered decks facing the ocean-side and two small balconies facing the bayside, Cape Calm is the ultimate retreat to relax and enjoy the spectacular sunsets that Cape San Blas is known for.

Cape Calm offers a beautiful, well-appointed kitchen with custom cabinets, quartz countertops, and stainless steel appliances. A huge center island is the perfect place to prepare delicious meals while enjoying amazing views from every direction. The open floor plan allows interaction with the entire family and the oversized sectional sofa in the living area makes relaxing a delight. To stay connected there is a flat screen, smart TV and wireless high speed internet access. There is a large dining table that seats eight surrounded by windows that offer a beautiful backdrop to enjoy every meal. Youā€™ll find an Ikea highchair in closet to ensure that even the smallest guests can enjoy dinner at the table. A cozy nook with additional seating is the perfect place to curl up and read a book or enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the views. Off the living area is a 26x10 covered deck complete with Polywood Adirondack chairs and a dining table to enjoy meals overlooking the ocean. There is a private, beautifully decorated bedroom with a plush queen bed, a balcony overlooking the bay, tons of natural sunlight and its own ensuite bathroom on the main floor.

Upstairs youā€™ll find a twin bunk room and ample storage. Another queen bedroom upstairs shares a jack and jill bath with the bunk room. The master bedroom is on the top floor as well, and boasts a huge, private deck overlooking the gulf and a lush king bed with beautiful plush bedding. A luxury master bath offers a custom tile shower, a separate soaking tub, double vanity, and a private water closet. The washer and dryer are also upstairs for your convenience.

Cape Calm is equipped with everything you should need. All bed and bath linens are supplied as well as Calphalon cookware and plenty of dinnerware and glassware. The kitchen also has a Keurig, toaster, mixer and all the essential spices and tools to make dinner prep a breeze. Downstairs under the covered carport is a gas grill and an outdoor shower with direct access to the pristine beach. Youā€™ll also find beach chairs, beach toys and boogie boards to make the day even more fun.

Canā€™t say enough great things about this wonderful place! The home is STUNNING! And there is nothing better than just walking down the back steps and being on the beach! This made things so easy being able to take chairs (which are provided!) and other items. We take a beach trip every year with our now adult kids and this was one of our favorite places from the past 24 years! The host is wonderful and has thought of everything you would need to feel right at home. We canā€™t wait to stay here again! FIVE STARS across the board!

Spring Break

We loved our stay. This was one of the cleanest houses we have ever stayed in. We loved getting to walk out the door and be right at the beach! There was a problem with the AC prior to us arriving and the owners were phenomenal about communication with us and keeping us up-to-date on the situation. We will definitely be back!

The perfect stay!

We absolutely loved everything about staying at Cape Calm! My husband is not a beach lover but absolutely lit up when he saw we were directly on the beach and he wouldnā€™t have to lug everything super far! I have to mention the incredible closet full of all of the necessities, it was absolutely amazing and made life so easy! The shower conveniently placed at the top of the stairs was a great addition as well! We loved everything about the inside of the home and found everything we could possibly need conveniently placed! There was an issue with the master toilet and Haylea had someone out there within the hour to fix it for us! We will be staying here every time we visit the Cape from here on out! We couldnā€™t recommend this house enough!

Great location

Everything about Cape Calm was perfect. The house is beautiful and just as it was described. When we arrived everything was neat and clean. The beach is so nice and so private. Its location is perfect on the Cape, close to stores and close to traveling to near by cities. Haylee was great to work with and was a quick responder. We would definitely stay again.

Sunset spectacular

Had a great week. The house was beautiful. There were a few stumps in the water that were a bit concerning, but that didnā€™t keep us from enjoying the water. We caught fish, we swam and saw a beautiful sunset from the beach every night! They had great beach chairs and water tubes to enjoy. Games and books to enjoy! If youā€™re into puzzles the sea turtle puzzle is missing 3 pieces :) Overall a perfect week!

Excellent rental property

This was without a doubt the cleanest best organized house we have rented through VERBO. We enjoyed all the house had to offer. The only negatives I could see is the beach at this location is in bad need of clean up and dune restoration. We had a bad storm with high surf the week we were there which further eroded the beach. Also if there is availability of high speed internet that would be a plus. We found the internet to be very slow when it was working

Beautiful!

The house was beautiful and super clean! The beach right out the back door was great for ourselves and our 2 golden retrievers. The house was stocked with just about everything you could need, and if you forget anything, the general store down the road serves in a pinch. We went over Christmas during the big freeze and water pressure was a bit of a problem with the cold temps, but we still had a marvelous, relaxing time! Communication with Haylea, the owner was super, even though it was during a holiday! Would absolutely stay her again! 10 out of ten STARS!

Excellent Stay!!!!!!

The house is just as listed. EXCELLENT LOCATION. Right on the beach. They had EVERYTHING you could possibly want inside and out. Plenty of beach equipment, chairs, umbrellas, toys, etc. A MAJOR PLUS! No issues with the house. The master bed is a bit worn and sunk down on one side. Probably time for an upgrade, but it was fine. House also designed for an elevator, but not installed. This would have helped tremendously. We usually travel with my elderly mother and this amazing place would not accommodate us in the future without an elevator. Would also recommend using UNSENTED Tide/laundry detergent for those with allergies. Overall, GRAT HOME, GREAT LOCATION!!!!!!! WOULD STAY AGAIN....

Beautiful and Comfortable Home- Disappointing Beach

Cape Calm is a great house for families- has a great floor plan, very clean, comfy furniture, kitchen was well supplied and there were lots of sand chairs and toys for the beach. The beach however was badly eroded so that what appeared to be old mangrove stumps and roots were exposed directly in front of the house. It was unsightly as well as dangerous because the stumps were hidden when the tide came in and they were sharp to bump into or step on. There were exposed stumps like these in the water all up and down the beach so they were almost impossible to avoid. The children with us were too young to be in the water alone or to want to use boogie boards so it wasn't a disaster but the adults that wanted to swim were disappointed. The beach was quite narrow- There were several big storms while we were there in June which might have affected the tides but the beach was so narrow that sometimes there wasn't even enough beach to set a tent up on in front of the house. We were able to carry the tent down the beach to a wider area but that was not ideal or convenient. There was very little "soft" dry sand for the kids to dig in - just a narrow strip close to the dunes. We really enjoyed the huge porch for the gorgeous sunsets. Also the primary bedroom and bath is a wonderful space with its own large porch that I took advantage of for a most peaceful yoga retreat. Haylea is a great host- very responsive and easy to communicate with. Check in and out process was seamless.
