Beautiful 2 BR. Lake Side home pvt entrance. Walkout to Monument Lake. Sleeps 6

2019 built home with newly completed walk out rental unit. Features include a king bedroom with memory foam mattress and nice linens. Tiles bath w/shower Studio area includes a wine bar, full stainless steel refrigerator, and mini kitchen. The relaxation room hosts a barn door entertainment center and ample seating arrangements. 2nd bedroomThe central room has a day bed which slides out to make another king size bed or two twins.
Walking in or out of this unit is covered by the deck above. Monument Lake is just out our back yard fence double gate. We have kayaks paddles and life jackets available. We live upstairs on the main level! Central A/C was installed in September 2019. Located just 1/2 mile from downtown Historic Monument and all it has to offer, plus just a 10 minute drive to Palmer Lake village, 20 minutes to Castle Rock Outlet shopping, 20 minutes to Garden of the Gods, Manatou Springs, and Old Colorado City and many other wonderful attractions . 2nd bedroom has Queen size sleeps 2. Additional daybed in central area also sleeps 2.

Perfect location for visiting USAFA, in a great neighborhood and charming town! The apartment was so much larger than we expected; excellent quality furnishings and comfortable beds…we all slept so well! Host was great with communications and responsive to our questions. And of course being lake-side was a wonderful bonus!
Sunset… Of course, I am sure you’re familiar with this view!
Perfect weather!
We finally took advantage of your fire pit our last evening.
I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard playing cards!

It was an amazing place to stay! When we arrived there were snacks and drinks sitting out to greet us. It was very nice and clean and plenty of space to move around. The back patio and scenery were the biggest highlight! Being right on the lake, it never got loud, police monitor constantly. We felt so welcomed and comfortable the entire time. Theresa and Steve were amazing host and we enjoyed great conversation with them both.

Hidden Gem

Our family of four had a wonderful stay at this property! Super cute! All the small touches that make a nice stay… a great stay… Theresa and Steve are kind, gracious hosts. Their place had comfy beds, nice linens, thick towels and quality toilet paper :) :) The kitchen is small but has everything needed for simple meal preps. The outdoor area is wonderful for relaxing and the access to the lake is great! Would absolutely recommend and will return for sure! Thanks for a wonderful Colorado get away!

Lakeview tranquility

The property has a covered porch where my bff and I spent each morning sitting with coffee, watching the early fisher persons, geese, ducks and beautiful scenery. The living quarters were just what we needed with fun snacks and coffee provided upon check in. We ate our breakfast, headed out for the day, and then fell into very comfy beds with nice linens for a restful sleep. Rinse and repeat. The perfect getaway!

Perfect 4th of July vacation

The set up is perfect. We loved the location, we did things in Colorado Springs and Denver. The lake was laid back and the patio was where we spent most of our time! Steve took my son fishing. My daughter took advantage of the kayaks they had also. If we go back to the area Ill stay there again, it was so relaxing.

Enjoyable stay!

Stayed here alone while my daughter participated in activities at USAFA. Relaxing stay overlooking Lake Monument. Perfect balance between privacy and attention from Theresa and Steve!

Wonderful property, Wonderful location - Best Owners!

This was our third visit to Theresa and Steve's property and we will continue to visit as our son is at USAFA. The location is perfect - on Monument Lake and they have kayaks, etc. for the family to enjoy the lake. Waking up every morning to the lakeview was relaxing. Best of all, Theresa and Steve are wonderfully kind and generous and we enjoyed spending time with them as well on our trip!

This view was breathtaking.

This was my family's first trip to Colorado. I searched several listings from Denver and the surrounding area until I found Theresa and Steve's listing and seeing their lake view, the mountian and the kayaks along with all the inside amenities won me over. Theresa thought of everything to help enhance your stay. Steve and Theresa were so easy to work with and gave us lots of valuable information for our first trip and I just want to say thank you for taking the time to steer us in the right directions. The house felt like a home while we were visiting and we will definitely be back soon to finish the sightseeing we didn't have time for. We highly recommend Steve and Theresa's home for vacation. Colorado did not disappoint. The JeanCrew

Best Vrbo experience - not to be missed!

Theresa and Steve are excellent hosts. Their Vrbo unit is wonderful and a perfect fit for our family. We love the decor and ease of their home. Their backyard is right on Monument Lake and they have multiple kayaks, etc so one can go out daily and fish or play in the lake easily. Their home is thoughtfully supplied with books, movies, games for families. It is exceptionally clean and well managed. We have stayed there twice when visiting our son at USAFA and will be there again in late August. I recommend their home highly. Plus Theresa and Steve are lovely people and attentive and we really enjoyed getting to know them during our visit! You will love their Vrbo unit and them!

Excellent Stay

Theresa and her husband had our rental cleaned and stocked before arrival. This is a great area on the edge of the wilderness! We all used the kayaks that are on the premises to get out on Monument Lake which is literally right out the backyard gate. One son loves fishing and spent his days on the water and caught his first Pike! He caught multiple pike and was ecstatic! The unit is fashionably decorated and super clean! We will be back as one son is in USAFA! Thank you!

Monument Lake View & Local Attractions

We greatly enjoyed our 5-night stay. Theresa and Steve were extremely hospitable and kind. The property was very clean, nicely decorated, well equipped with kitchen and bathroom supplies, and had comfortable bedding. There were even beverages and snacks waiting for us when we arrived! They had kayaks, life jackets, a Jon boat, a paddle boat, fishing gear, pickle ball paddles and ball, and a corn hole/bags set available for outdoor activities. They also shared recommendations for other family activities. There are wonderful restaurants options in Monument and nearby Castle Rock, Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City, and Manitou Springs. Monument Rock, Garden of the Gods, Red Rock Canyon Open Space, and many other hiking trails and natural attractions are close by. The Air Force Academy is also just a short distance away. Lastly, we enjoyed the view of Monument Lake each morning as we ate breakfast outside and each evening when watching the sun set.

Wonderful stay

The house is the lower floor of the hosts' home. The setting is beautiful right on the lake and we used the kayaks and boat available every day. It was so relaxing and fun for the kids. Steven and Theresa were the most truly wonderful hosts - bringing us breakfast and other food on our arrival and offering to do washing. The house was spacious enough for our family of 4. The kids slept on the sofa bed and the lounge area is bigger than it looks in the photos. The kitchen is small, but there is also a gas BBQ outside which we used for cooking. The kids also loved the firepit and Theresa and Steven provided the smores ingredients. I can't recommend this home enough. The hosts are such welcoming people.

Best time ever

We had an amazing time. Been to the Denver area at least 8 times and this was the best stay all because of this place. It felt like home. Very comfortable, clean and super friendly! Amazing views and lots of fun things to do.

Steve and Theresa were great hosts! They even had some toys ready for our kids when we first arrived. The area was nice and clean and backed up right to the lake. Would highly reccomend.

Amazed by the Hospitality!

Theresa and Steve were absolutely wonderful people to meet. In this strange pandemic time both my mom and I were very comfortable with our little spot on the lake. The home was extremely clean with all the amenities perfect for our stay! (Even experienced Theresa's Fresh Baked Banana Nut Muffins :~] ) We were allowed the use of the Kayak’s which was greatly appreciated! An adventure all in its own! Sunrises and sunsets did not disappoint, nor did the wildlife! Would not hesitate to stay here again if ever in the area!

Theresa is a Retired Real Estate Broker and has bought, sold, and lived in many places. Born and raised in South Texas and enjoys the outdoors!
Steve's degree is in Urban Forest Biology and he enjoyed a career in his field then worked for an Insurance reporting service before his retirement in 2015. He lived in Alaska for 3 years and was a facilities manager for the town of Galena and while in Alaska, he was a fishing and hunting guide too!
In the Summer of 2018, we were living in Castle Rock. We ventured down to Monument Lake for an afternoon of fishing around the banks. We had such a good time and the beauty was outstanding so we decided to have our "Retirement home built"!
We love the small town yet close proximity to larger. Every day seems to be a new adventure! Or, we can just sit on our deck and see Bald Eagles, Deer, Otters, Elk, Coyotes, or watch the fish jump and /or take off in the lake and go fishing for awhile.
Also, there is a fire pit set down by the lake for roasting whatever your hearts desire!
