From your private boardwalk, you are just a few steps away from the white sands of Holden Beach where you and your family will relax and unwind. Imagine reading lazily on your oceanside covered porch after you have the tan lines you came for. Four bedrooms with their own private baths offer comfort and privacy for everyone. This home is located in the heart of the west end of the beach making the pier and general store within walking distance. Take in all the bounty - sights, sounds and seafood! A slower pace vacation always rejuvenates the soul - this is the place - "It's All Good"!

Pet Friendly: $250 Non-refundable pet fee is required and is limited to a single dog up to 50 pounds. An additional dog(s) may be allowed provided that they are pre-approved by PROACTIVE Vacations. Additional Fees will apply for more than one dog. Guests must crate pets when they are left in the home unattended.

Fabulous Vacay

Love the porch with the rocking chairs overlooking the ocean. Having a bathroom in each bedroom-perfect. Kitchen has everything you need. Will be back!

Great home in a great location

Great home on the beach and across from the intracoastal waterway. Very well appointed with lots of seating and well supplied kitchen. Great floor plan. Would definitely rent again. Felix

Old beach cottage

That location was perfect. The cottage is very dated. And needs a good cleaning. You couldn’t see the beautiful oceanfront because the windows were so dirty.Layers of dust on all the fixtures look like it hadn’t been cleaning very long time. That being said nice to have 4 bedrooms each with own bath

The house was nice but could use ceiling fans in bedrooms and TV. Well equipped kitchen.

Overall very good. Lowest level was very musty. Well-stocked kitchen, nice laundry and porch chairs. I feel hesitant to critique beach houses when I don’t own one! Love dealing with Proactive.

Location was great, House, not so much

The pictures online were taken at just the right angle to not be untruthful but are definitely misleading. We went for a four day, three night stay over Spring Break. My biggest issue with this property is the condition of appliances, furniture, deck. We learned to wear shoes to walk on decking to get to beach or get splinters, not to touch outdoor tables because they are covered in very sharp rust and falling apart, dishwasher is on last leg, every time we opened the door we were afraid it was going to fall off completely, microwave has rust on INSIDE of it, The eyes on the stove are all crooked and slanted so it is difficult to cook on it and impossible to get an even cook. Our biggest complaint, issue was the hot water. I'm going to assume it is a very small water heater because only one or two people can shower before it is out of hot water. With that many beds, sleeping arrangements it should have a bigger better solution for hot water. Lastly, there is not foot wash or any access to water to rinse sand off outside before entering into home on the back side. The rules are borderline scary about leaving sand, lotion, sunblock, makeup on any surface inside so it is concerning there is no way to wash off outside. Linens were provided for us and the paperwork that came with that was also borderline threatening. "The large plastic bag these linens arrive in is NOT to be used as a garbage bag..." Because it was so intense, we ended up NOT using several of the linen packs. We just used the blankets and pillows we traveled with from our vehicles. Wouldn't want to be charged for a smudge or dirt spot on sheets. I would not go back to this place unless 1, They update ALL appliances, 2, Get a larger hot water heater or tankless, 3, repair ALL outdoor furniture or replace, 4, repair back decking and railing. They are building a house next door. Hammering, impact tools, delivery of wood, truck traffic, crane use all started at 7am sharp and goes all day. This I would not hold against them except it was never mentioned anywhere so a head's up would have been nice. We are early risers but the two children were woke every morning by the construction. Good things would be LOCATION, large family/gathering space and spacious table we could all sit at and eat/enjoy each others company. Kitchen is large and easy to work in. This home is all one level so living spaces are in middle and the bedrooms flank that. It is close to everything!

Great location, but house let's you down.

We loved the location and the layout of the house. Loved the easy access to the beach. The house needed to be cleaner, the cooling system would have worked better had the filters and vents been cleaned. Adding ceiling fans throughout would help. Very disappointed by the dust on shelves, the mold on vents and bathroom ceiling. They did send out someone to change out the main air filter, but not sure why it had to be asked. The filter was so gross and built up. For what is charged things need updated. The large sectional needs cleaned or replaced. Headboards to the beds were not even connected, no idea why. We enjoyed our time together as a family and much needed vacation, but we won't use this house again. Hopefully they can put the money they are getting each week for it back into it.

Our Return to Holden Beach

After 2020 brought the loss of my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law, I wanted to have a family vacation. When my kids were little, we spent several weeks at Holden Beach so it was an easy decision to go there this year. I had to get a house that would suit all of us and this house fit the bill. Thanks again for a wonderful time.

Property Needs Work

Overall this property is old and in need of repair. Most of the items were just irritations but there were a lot of them. Starting with Kitchen, no light in stove hood so hard to see when cooking on stove top. Numerous pots and pans but all were old and many needed to be replaced. Ice machine in freezer did not work at all. Carpets all dirty and stained . Light bulbs burned out and not replaced. Televisions were small and poor quality and small in bedrooms. The grills in the basement were totally full of mold. In the main great room the large mirror in the dinning room had a broken piece that was missing and not repaired. The air conditioning and heating ducts were rusted and dirty. All the TVs required 2 remote controls to work. The second week we were there, roaches appeared in many parts of the house. Lastly it took three days for Proactive to return my call trying to report these issues. I never reached them when I used their system for answering until I hit the reservation key. After leaving messages on the two house keeping and maintenance line as requested on answering message I finally hit their reservations key and got someone, this is very irritating. I started calling on the Monday after arriving on Saturday , left 3 messages , I finally reached someone. Some one did come out and at least cleaned the grills so we could use one but no other issue was fixed. He constantly was explaining he could do nothing until the owner was emailed and gave permission nothing else got fixed. We never got a call or visit after that about the other issues. On a positive note the beds were good and the internet wi fi system worked well. The damage parts of the rental contract are a joke for the renter because the house has so many smal damages.

Needs a new HVAC

The temperature in the house never got lower than 76 degrees no matter what time of day. The owners need to strongly consider a new HVAC system, or at the very least, put stand alone fans in each bedroom. There was also a vertical piling missing from the deck and an exposed electrical outlet in the dining room making it hazardous for the young children in the house. These things should be addressed before every visit. Don’t bother asking for early check-in as the rental company is not going to budge. We were able to get a late check out but had to pay almost the full cost of an extra night even though we could tell no one was coming that day or the next. The location and view cannot be beat and the ease of access to the beach was great.

Thank you for choosing this property for your stay. When we know that there are any type of problems at any of our properties, we respond. Once we learned about the problem with the AC on Sunday when you were checking out, the AC had a temporary repair and then the entire system was replaced. There was no piling missing, it was a deck rail picket that was noticed after your check out along with a broken rocking chair that was then repaired. No exposed electrical outlet could be found. At times we are able to accommodate early check-ins but rarely late check outs at any of our properties. In this particular case the owner had planned to use the property for themselves after you checked out. The owner did make an exception and provided a discounted fee to allow you to stay much later than the typical 2 hour late check out if and when available. The fee was not close to a full night stay rate.
