Casa de Acebuche / Natural Park / Tarifa

La Casa del Acebuche is a cozy holiday home located in the southern part of Los Alcornocales Nature Reserve, in the municipality of Tarifa. The house, tastefully renovated in 2015 in a modern style accommodates a couple. Guests have access to their own private terrace as well as to a shared swimming pool. La Casa del Acebuche is a great destination to relax and enjoy nature, while at the same time a convenient base from where to enjoy the town of Tarifa and its beaches.

La casa del Acebuche offers a privileged location in an unspoiled natural environment combining the traditional construction style typical of the region with a modern and comfortable interior design.



The accommodation consists of a living room divided in two spaces, with sofa, armchairs and chimney on the one side, and kitchen and dining table on the other; bathroom and bedroom with double bed and a desk. If required, a folding bed can be arranged for a third person.



The bedroom has direct access to a private terrace with a table and chairs to rest outdoors in a quiet and secluded place. The guests have at their disposal a shared swimming pool and other common spaces of the 2000m2 parcel such as the patio at the entrance and fruit trees scattered around the space (custard apple, pear, fig trees, …). All over the parcel there are great views with the Strait of Gibraltar in the background and of splendid sunsets.



La Casa del Acebuche is surrounded by wooded meadow in a part of the Alcornocales Natural Reserve known to locals as “La Ahumada”, full of cork oaks, holm oaks and many other Mediterranean species, which is public land and thus open for our guests to explore freely.

We put at the disposal of our guests up to three bikes at no additional cost, subject to availability. Please let us know in advance the date in which you would like to use them.



During the winter season we provide firewood for the chimney.



The swimming pool is shared with the other two houses located in the estate and is open during the summer season.

La casa del Acebuche is located in a parcel of land that includes a second vacation house and a ceramic workshop, and on which we sometimes undertake the necessary gardening and maintenance works to keep the estate in good conditions.



In another part of the estate we are fostering a few cats, which you may encounter in the common facilities and the private terrace. The house is in a rural setting, therefore in the public land outside of the estate you may encounter livestock (in all certainty goats, but perhaps also the occasional cow, pig, donkey or horse)

.

Our holiday house is pet friendly.

The wooded meadow of La Ahumada, the land around our vacation house, is located within the boundaries of the municipality of Tarifa, in the southern part of Los Alcornocales Natural Reserve near the Mediterranean Sea. Its landscape is characterised by hills with groves of cork oaks, Portuguese oaks, Pyrenean oaks, olive trees and brushwood such as heathers and rockroses.



The area is well known for its avifauna, both resident (for example the griffon vulture) and migrating during the autumn and spring seasons (short-toed snake eagle, black stork, booted eagle, sparrowhawk, European kestrel, and many others).
La Ahumada is home to plenty of trails for walking and bike riding across scenic landscapes and distinctive native habitats.



La casa del Acebuche is located about 3 km along a rural road from the national highway N-340 leading to Tarifa and its beaches.

La casa del Acebuche cannot be reached by public means of transportation, therefore a private car is required. Many of our guests rent the car directly upon landing in the airport. Alternatively, the closest location to rent a car is in the city of Algeciras.



The distance between La casa del Acebuche and the town of Tarifa is about 10km - the first three km, still within the Natural Reserve, along the rural road CA-2215, and the remaining seven km along the national highway N-340.
