The house was absolutely fantastic. So much space and tons of old charm. The beds were comfortable and everything was immaculately clean. The kitchen was stocked really well and the washer/dryer came in handy. We really enjoyed our stay while visiting Winterplace, which was about 20 minutes away. Would definitely recommend.

The house had plenty of room for my entire family. The best were very comfortable, and the parking was ample for multiple vehicles. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The customer service was absolutely superior. Will definately be booking again!

The house is an older one but it fit our needs perfectly. The ideal ā€œteamā€ house. Was only 6 miles from Beckley PD Gun Range!!!

Adorable and Spacious in Beaver

Cute and sizeable home with plenty of room for a larger group. Convenient to Beckley and some of the best recreational activities in WV. Although on the main road through Beaver, it is quiet and safe. We definitely would stay here again!

Cozy Mountain Home

This is our second time staying here at this property while our families go skiing at Winterplace. Its a perfect location that is convenient to the slopes and restaurants. We will be back again thanks to this great home and host.

This place was perfect for our needs. My husband, son, and his girlfriend and dog stayed here for a week while house hunting in the area. It was clean, very spacious, and the location was perfect. Having a well stocked kitchen was perfect, we only ate out once! If you walk to the end of the col-de-sac, there is a little stream. So much better than renting 2 hotel rooms. We were very happy with our choice. And my son and his girlfriend were so happy they could bring their dog.

Our group of 5 adults really enjoyed our stay. Centrally located for the sites we wanted to see, restaurants, convenience store, gas, all right there. The 5th bedroom advertised only had a crib but we made due. 3 story house, plenty of stairs obviously, railings could use some tlc but that's about it. Property was spotless and comfortable; our group would definitely stay here again.

Quaint Place

Such a cool old house with PLENTY of towels, room and space to enjoy. The kitchen was well equipped (better than most I've been to), and there were so many towels! Fun games for my kids and books to read too. Plus didn't have a lot of breakables, which made it really easy to let them play and not worry. Thank you!

Huge House

This house worked very well for a 3-generation trip to the New River Gorge. The house was clean and easy to access and just a stone's throw from Beckley. We enjoyed a day rafting on the lower gorge, a visit to Little Beaver State Park to hike with the dogs, and canoeing on the middle gorge. We went across the street to the country store and enjoyed their produce. The house is really interesting and MUCH bigger than it looks from the outside. Beautiful hardwood floors and spacious rooms. This is a great deal for a family if you're visiting the New River Gorge.

Great little home close to Winterplace

Rebecca was a great owner and helped us with some sticky situations (getting locked out; we had to bring our small dog) and was there to answer our questions. The house was big enough for our family (4 adults and two children, and we still had a bedroom left over) and to spread out and have our own space. The home is older and quaint, but Rebecca keeps it very clean. This house sits on the main highway through Beaver, and we found it convenient to come out the back driveway and get on the road that took us directly to Winterplace (15 minutes away), but some people might not want this. We were always parking in the second row of Winterplace's parking lot. This home is also close to gas stations (one is next door), Kroger and other conveniences you might need.

Huge house in great location

We are a family of five plus a dog and have a lot of different interests. We spent time at Winterplace, Lewisburg, and The Greenbrier Resort. The house was perfectly situated for everything we wanted to do. We appreciated the fenced in front yard for our dog. It is on a busy street in between a gas station and an auto mechanic. That was not a problem for us at all. The house had everything that we needed to fix meals etc. We used it as a landing pad for all of our activities. It's on the same road as Winterplace and very close to both 77 and 64. We had also considered going to Fayetteville but ran out of time. The owner was very responsive and answered every question we had very quickly. No issues at all! ā¤ļø The house is also very close to a lot of restaurants ranging from fancy to fast food and everything in between. We will definitely stay again!

Long ski weekend

Firstly Rebecca was a great communicator. We didnt have any issues but I perceived she was eager to help if needed. Check in was smooth but first impression was definitely impacted by the neighborhood. Pulling in late at night there was loud music coming from a dilapidated auto repair shop just feet away from the back steps. This music played late into the evening each of the 3 nights we stayed. The other side of the house backs up to a gas station. A lot of traffic noise and no blackout curtains made for some difficulty staying asleep. There was nothing in the property description or photos that would have helped me expect this setting. Regardless, the house is quite roomy and the location was convenient to Winter Place. I could tell the owner took pride in hosting and had nice touches like snacks in the kitchen.

Double booked - verify dates before you book - location is on main road & in between buildings

FYI: the dates VRBO has for our stay are a day off. We booked Friday Dec 22-Wednesday Dec 27. Long review but worth the read. *had to select a rating for cleanliness even though we didnā€™t stay there* I booked the property in late November. I emailed 2 weeks prior to our stay (Dec 22-27) asking for specifics of the area and pet rules. I never got a reply. 10-15 minutes prior to our arrival, I contacted the property manager about the check in process as VRBO didnā€™t email specifics. The property manager replied ā€˜thereā€™s a scheduling conflictā€™ & ā€˜when will you arrive?ā€™ I said weā€™d be there in 5 minutes. She couldnā€™t call me to discuss the issue as she was at the doctor but explained the place was booked by someone else the 22nd-24th and we could have the house in 2 days. She didnā€™t know how it was double booked and had never had it happen to her; neither have I yet I will now verify with the owner or property manager for future vacation rentals. We requested a full refund which was processed and credited to our credit card immediately. We drove past the property while in town for our ski trip. The house is in between 2 buildings - VERY CLOSE. I didnā€™t see an entrance from the main road; must be behind the house It is across the street from Kroger, fast food, El Mariachi Mexican restaurant (turn at the stoplight of 307) and 10-15 minutes to Winterplace for skiing.

The property was well furnished, clean and roomy. The front yard, while fronting a busy highway was great for our group's 4 dogs, and as we always seemed to have had someone outside, worked out well. There were more than enough towels, and the bedrooms were very comfortable. The gas grill was a very good addition, as we ate in every night. The house was pretty much as advertised.A couple of points I need to make here: The youngest person in our group was 64, with the average age being 70, with all of us being in reasonably good shape for our age. Initial access is via a steep set of 11 stairs to the back entrance. And unless you park on the main road (NOT recommended), access to the front of the house is via a less steep set of 3/4 stairs with a chain-link gate.Wi-Fi handled all of our devices easilyneeds

Love this house

This was the second time we have rented this house.We have loved our stay both times.It close to everything plus has a gas station and arbys next door.The owners are nice and answer any questions in a timely manner.We will stay again if available for our next trip to West Virginia.

I didnā€™t realize it was as big as it was until we got there. A ton of space! The only thing I was disappointed about was not knowing there wasnā€™t a door to the room with a crib!

Snow Skiing with Grandkids

Had a great experience renting this property from planning to arrival to departure. The house was very spacious, comfortable, and clean for our family of five. Loved the back entry room for storing skis, boots, and equipment. A full kitchen allowed for preparing some of our meals and excellent restaurants were nearby. Rebecca, the owner, was extremely helpful and easy to work with.

Very roomy for everybody to spread out and store the gear. Exept for the yard a lot smaller then I asumed. In town and very convenient to get around. We enjoyed it very much
