Enjoy Relaxing at Riverfront Property 4 miles from Sandstone Falls!


Peradise cottage is a riverfront property on the New River. Located in the newest national park 4 miles from the iconic tourist destination Sandstone Falls. Not only do you get the river views, but you also get the mountains and train views. Perfect get away spot for all! Fisherman, hikers, nature enthusiastsā€”all are welcome at Peradise Cottage.

Whether you love hiking, fishing, kayaking, or just love listening to trains on the back deck Peradise Cottage is the place for you! The train runs parallel to the river so the train noises are inevitable, but I find them soothing!

Hinton is the cutest town and is located less then 10 minutes away. Here you will find shopping & local restaurants! Pipesteam state park is less then 25 minutes away and has some awesome hiking spots as well as dinning! And if your into skiing or snow boarding Winterplace Ski Resort is less then 45 mins away!

This is a 2 bedroom (queen beds) and 2 full bath (no tubs) home located directly on the New River. There is also a pull out sofa in the back porch with a queen bed as wellā€”itā€™s my favorites place to sleep in the summer actually!

The views canā€™t be beat here and you will see all kinds of wildlife here on the river including eagles and even some otters! Fisherman will love all that the New River has to offer! There are multiple access points near by for your kayak and or boat! See my recommendations for places to also rent!

Please note there is NO WiFi. I have a DVD player at the house so feel free to bring any! Feel free to use your own hot spot from your phone to stream movies. T-Mobile works best here.

There is limited parking at the cottage. You have 2 parking spaces only.
One on each side of the house. Please be mindful as the other houses also follow this and need space for their cars should they be home.

Other things to note
Please respect the neighbors as everyone is pretty close to each other location wise. Please do not use the dock as that is the neighbors.

If you need firewood I can have this delivered ahead of time for an additional cost.

I have well water so there can be a smell. I have a Britta in the fridge you will have access to.

I stock up on toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, coffee, sugar, and creamerā€”powdered. I do not stock up on tea, body soap, shampoo, conditioner, ziplock bags, foil, etc.

I currently do not have a grillā€”hopefully soon! I do have Adirondack chairs on the back deck (4) for your relaxation!

This is not pet friendlyā€”No exceptions. But I must note my dog has been in the home if you are allergic to pets.

Beware of the geese as they are inevitable by the river!

We had a really nice stay here. Everything is clean and well kept. We loved going to Bridge Day, and enjoyed hiking and the fall colors. Probably something important to note is that there is no wi-fi, and about 1 bar of cell service at the property. So if you need to work or make calls, probably should plan ahead for that.

As described!! Lovely home right next to the river with an amazing view. Location was excellent to spend some days in the National Park. I would strongly recommend staying here if you are visiting the area.

Little piece of heaven

The cottage is beautiful and located just close enough to everything you need.We came for a few days to see waterfalls and had several within short driving distance. I would highly recommend this clean and quiet little slice of heaven!

Wonderful weekend

ā€œParadise Cottageā€ was such a great stay for us in Hinton as we checked off another national park! It was spotlessly clean, easy to access, and so lovely to have basic/starter supplies made available on arrival (plus the lovely welcome basket!). We enjoyed sitting on the porch looking at the river and our daughter loved the geese!! The bedrooms were both very spacious and the beds comfortable; we slept so well! It was a short drive to both Sandstone Falls and the Sandstone visitor center and. Relatively easy drive to the Canyon Rim visitor center and bridge. Alex provided all the info we needed and we enjoyed Hinton, although the one restaurant we were all excited to try was closed for the day. Maybe weā€™ll have to go back - and would definitely stay here again!

Family Visit

Was just perfect. Right location, right size, nice and comfortable, access to nature, quiet, and again, just perfect. Alex is a gracious and responsive host, and she has done a nice job with renovating and decorating. If anyone asks, we will recommend Peradise as the perfect getaway for anyone wanting easy access to The New River National Park and all the beauty this part of West Virginia has to offer.

I reside in Allentown, PA and bought a vacation home out in the mountains of WV on the river this past October. I had the entire house re-done and put so much thought and love into every decision. When I am not here relaxing I am leaving it open to guests to enjoy as well! So come stay at Peradise Cottage and fall in love with the town I love so much!
