A shared private harbor next to the home offers protection for your boat from rough waters. Spend your days swimming, searching for lake glass or Lake Superior agates, fishing, playing yard games, or simply relaxing on the sandy beach. Unwind on the deck, or on rainy days, cozy up in the three-season porch or spacious family room.

Explore the area by boat with a ride to local waterfront restaurants, or take a short drive to charming attractions—including turtle races, boutique shopping, a local winery and brewery, an ice cream shop, a cozy coffee spot, and the scenic Chippewa National Forest trails. A public boat launch is just one mile away for added convenience.

Please note: The lake beach conditions change daily, and you may spot geese, ducks, turtles nesting, snails, crayfish, and other small lake creatures enjoying the shore.

Another wonderful stay. Big house with a great kitchen for food prep and shared meals. A perfect place for extended families with kids. You won’t find a better beach and swimming area.

Great relaxing family vacation! Beautiful views!!

Views were breath taking so relaxing while canoeing and kayaking around. Enjoyed so much family time by the camp fire, playing cards, fishing, boating, kids playing in water, and etc.. Excellent place to relax.

Great property and host

This was our 3rd time staying at this property with our extended family. The property is so nice and the host has made beautiful improvements to the house. Sonja is so responsive and takes such great care of the house and property. We feel blessed that we have had the opportunity to spend such fun family times together here! Thank you Sonja!

Family fun up north

Beautiful!

We had an amazing time staying here. The house comfortably fit 3 families & had everything we needed. Sonja was easy to work with & quick to respond if we had a question. The best part was being able to walk right out the door to the beach! The sunsets were absolutely beautiful. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing & enjoyable lake vacation.

Cool waves

There were 11 of us and plenty of room for the most part. We would have liked more porch space for playing games and puzzling. Loved, loved, loved the waves and breeze! The kids,7,10 and 12 loved the beach, fishing off the dock and collecting crayfish! A very relaxing place! Highly recommend!

Just what we were looking for!

The beach was the highlight of our stay-the kids just loved the water looking for stones and shells. Sand castles, water toys, kayaks and floaters. Walleyes were biting! The house has space and anything one might need. Sonja was very responsive. Would rent again.

Great Property

The property had a great layout with nice accommodations for our large group of grandparents and entire family. We like to fish and the protected bay with dock was great for our 2 boats. We enjoyed the Adirondack chairs along the beach and enjoyed beautiful sunsets. The beds were comfortable. The downstairs bedrooms were quiet even when some people wanted to stay up later and play a rowdy game of cards. This was our second time stayin here and we would definitely come back again. Sonja was super responsive and we had a great time.

A hidden gem

This lake home has all the amenities of home plus so much more. We were in comfort during a recent power outage because of a back up generator in place. No worries as the storm passed through. This lake home is fully equipped for a stress free vacation. The sunsets and hummingbirds were delightful!

Home away from home

The house was very home like, had all the necessities that we needed less our personal things. Beautiful views, were able to see the northern lights the first night we were there. A couple of things were that we had to clean up the yard from goose droppings and the beach area from the dead crawfish, but after that we had no issues with either the rest of our stay, the other was that a couple of us would have preferred a softer bed. The kids enjoyed fishing off the dock and the swim area. Overall our family enjoyed our stay and would come back again.ItwithistayBedharOveralvtrailer.

Family Vacation

The property is perfect for family vacations with a large flat yard for games; fIre pit, beautiful beach and stunning sunsets. The home easily slept our family of 13 adults and was very comfortable. The kitchen had a great serving island and great appliances. The owner is very cordial and accommodating and provided good information about the area and some interesting antidotes. One more thing - fishing was excellent so we had a great fish fry and all three families had limits to take home. A great time was had by all!

Great!

The property was wonderful! Clean, so many rooms to spread out in, lots of space to sleep! As a mom of 3, the room darkening curtains in the bedrooms were awesome! I usually have to put up sheets for nap time and at this place that was not needed! Huge bonus! The amount of extra supplies and little things we didn’t think of before coming was also great. For example, the kitchen has so many things you can use to cook! So helpful! The beach is great! So perfect for kids to play. Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect for my family!

Wonderful place for our family, everything we needed and more! I don't think I would change a thing. The Rac Retreat had something for everyone. Fishing, bird watching, turtles, crawdad catching, and if it was a little warmer all of those other great summer activities like swimming. Grab a cup of something and sit in the upstairs great room area looking out over the water. Guaranteed to melt away all the stress. We didn't want to leave! Check in and Check out super simple and if something comes up the owners reply quickly. They have a great booklet full of ideas and help. We would go back!

Highly Recommend

Highly recommend it! The house and property were amazing. The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating. Sonja was very quick to respond to any questions. We stayed with our children, their spouses, and our grandchildren (total of 10) for a “week at the lake”. The layout worked great for our families. We appreciated the well-equipped kitchen with its large center island and the empty pantry cupboard. Also, the beautiful view, the sand beach, the dock in the protected channel, the screened porch, etc. Unfortunately, we did not catch many fish. We considered, and regret not, making arrangements with a fishing guide months before our stay.

Three generation family reunion

We were a group of 11; grandparents, four adult children/spouses, and five grandkids ages 6-14. The house was a great size for all of us to have enough bedrooms, lounging space, and make/eat all our meals together. We loved the big sandy beach and the sand toys for the kids. The canoe and kayaks were used every day! A few kid-sized life jackets would be a great addition to the adult ones that are provided. The kids caught tons of tiny fish off the dock, but fishing out in the lake was not as successful for us--one giant muskie, one walleye, and a couple of rock bass. Guess it wasn't our week for fish! We had some issues with the kitchen appliances, and Sonja was responsive to our texts and provided an appropriate refund for the inconveniences. This is a great house for a large group with excellent indoor and outdoor spaces and amenities to make lots of memories!

Think twice, think mice

Overall an ok place to stay. Complaints would be the driveway was not plowed when we arrived! Host lied and said she was there earlier that day and it was clear. She sent a picture from the property cam and it only showed the sidewalk that appeared to be clear from snow. That was not the case, one of our vehicles got stuck. Waited half hour for a plow to come. Water stinks, mice droppings in the home, Lipton and nestle cocoa canisters had mice bites on the covers. Mice poop on counters. Was told to use the key provided in drawer to put trash in shed. The key didn’t fit so we were told to put trash on the deck. Eerie sounds from the basement.

Beautiful home and location on Leech Lake, well stocked with supplies, and comfortable beds.

Enjoyed our time there very much. It was easy to get in touch with Sonja. The property is well taken care of and decorated nicely. We will be booking there again!

Jim and I are busy professionals that travel often. I travel Internationally and have stayed at many vacation rentals in Europe. I've loved all of my experiences and knew that some day I wanted to be a host for a vacation rental. I have been looking for years to make that come true and knew I wanted that wonderful piece of property to be on Leech Lake. We are so happy that we found the perfect property!
Jim and I have four beautiful children and four grandchildren. They are all so excited to drop their bags at the door and hit the beach. We hope you will want to do the same and have the best time ever at our beach home.

The home has 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a well appointed kitchen, the large galley style kitchen with center island, granite counter-tops, oven, microwave, toaster/pizza oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee center to make it your way includes Moka pot, French Press, Keurig, traditional coffee maker, electric tea kettle, a few tea and coffee samples. Your family will love the open concept kitchen/dining/living room.
