Private Newly remodeled Beach Bungalow - steps to Ocean, Pet-friendly, family.

Fourteen months after Hurricane Helene damaged our little Banana Bungalow, we finally have it back—fully restored, city-approved, and completely renewed. Everything is new: appliances, beds, furniture, linens, and more.

This charming 2-bedroom single-family bungalow in Indian Shores sits just steps from both the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico. Nestled among condos and apartment buildings, it’s a peaceful ground-floor bungalow with easy beach access and plenty of Florida charm.

Bedrooms & Bath

One bedroom has a Queen bed, and its own TV.

The second bedroom includes a Full-size bed plus a single bunk bed.
(All beds are brand new.)

The bathroom features a brand-new Jacuzzi bathtub that works beautifully.

Kitchen & Living Spaces
The kitchen has a new countertop, a new sink, and all-new appliances—including the oven, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee maker. It’s fully equipped with new cookware and utensils, and there’s a cozy eat-in area perfect for breakfast.

We’ve added brand-new towels and linens, and the expanded screened-in porch provides an inviting space to work, study, relax, or enjoy family meals. A new washer and dryer are on-site for your convenience.

Parking
There are two parking spots: one parked parallel to the house, the other perpendicular beside the shed.

Family-Friendly & Pet-Friendly
Children are welcome—games and beach toys are provided.
Two bicycles are available for use.
One small dog (under 35 lbs) is allowed. No other pets are permitted.

Enjoy breathtaking moments—watch the sunrise over the Intracoastal and the sunset over the Gulf, both just steps from your home away from home. We love walks on the beach at any time of the day, swimming in the water, eating at special places around, riding bikes, and playing pickleball next door at the park, steps away from the Bungalow.

Couldn't have picked a better place. The location to the beach and surrounding entertainment is the best !! Rich & Elisa are excellent at communicating and provide a perfect bungalow to enjoy.

Perfect!

We started out our stay with Tropical Storm Debbie. The hosts were in contact with us and checking on us until the weather cleared! All was well! Check in and out was easy. Perfect location! Not only a short walk to the beach, but also to the coffee shop and delicious Salt Rock Grille restaurant! It was my husband, in-laws, 1 year old baby, and myself that visited and there was just enough space in the house for us all and a very busy toddler! Pack and play is at the house and saved us! Thank you for a great stay! We hope to be back!

Great location!

Loved how close this was to the beach and the little park. We brought our dog and was just a short drive to the dog friendly beach area in north Clearwater. We could walk right across the street to the beach during the day and the wagon was a nice touch for all our beach gear! The house was just as pictured. Homey and cute!

Great location!

Such a cute little Bunglow! We traveled with our 3 kids and it was the perfect amount of space for us. We werent there much as we spent most of our time in the beach but it was perfect. The screen room provided a great place for dinner while keeping the bugs away. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for quick dinner prep. I am pretty sure the walk to the beach was shorter then those staying in the multi level condos. The owners were quick to reply with any questions we had and made our experience fantastic! We will be back!

A Fantastic Beach Experience

This property was perfect for my group. It was clean, and had all the things in it to cook for ourselves and spend comfortable time at the beach. We loved the Trolley and were able to go many places without having to drive.

Perfect getaway!

The property is so adorable! It has everything you could possibly need. The owners are awesome, they did a wonderful job having a fully stocked kitchen and linens, definitely made meal planning and packing so much easier. The property itself is so cozy and is very well maintained. We loved the screened in porch, it was so nice to hang out on when we weren’t at the beach (which is just steps away). Others have mentioned the municipal building as a slight negative however, we found it to be a positive as it seems to keep the louder more ‘party-centric’ folks away which was perfect for our family trip. We would 100% recommend the Banana Bungalow to anyone and it will definitely be our first choice when visiting Indian Shores. Bonus: the beds were very comfortable!!

First time Indian Shores visit

Great location. Clean, comfortable, homie. Provided all the necessities needed for the beach, recreation and cooking. All the comforts of home. We would stay there again. The hosts were very personable and pleasant to correspond with. Can't say enough good things about our stay. Again, thank you very much.

Owner was very responsive

Check-in did not go well because I did not receive the information to access the bungalow. However, once I was able to contact the owner he was extremely apologetic and responsive throughout my stay. The bungalow was well-stocked and nicely furnished/decorated. The location is perfect, although noise outside the bungalow from pedestrian and vehicular traffic was less than ideal.

Spring Getaway

Our family of four and small pup stayed the first week in April. This was our first time staying in a VRBO. The Banana Bungalow was as adorable in person as it was in the pics. The location was perfect - just a quick walk over to the beach. Catching the sunsets at the beach are a must! Rich and Elisa have the bungalow fully equipped with everything that you need - from a well stocked kitchen to beach chairs, towels, and bikes. All the appliances are in perfect condition. Bed mattresses appear to be new and are comfortable. If you like pickle ball - the court is across the street and the owners have the equipment for that and tennis. We played pickle ball almost every night! Screened in porch is a great setting for drinking morning coffee - we even had dinner out there a couple of evenings. Lots of good restaurants within a short drive, we highly recommend LuLu's if you want to go out for ice cream. Overall, we would recommend this home to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in Indian Shores. Rich and Elisa are super quick to respond to any questions you have!

Beach bungalow

Very close to everything. It was very comfortable and hosts went above and beyond providing everything you will need for the beach and at the bungalow. We even took advantage of washer and dryer. Was a nice plus! Thanks again

Banana Bungalow

Great location and accessibility to the beach. Owners are excellent to work with and answered questions quickly. Great for adults and my 3 lb Yorkie ! It is a noisy area but no problem for me.

Nice house but loud area

House was nice, owner was nice and fast to communicate. But, the location is behind a city building that has lots of loud trucks all day. They would stop outside our windows and it was very loud to were we had to quit talking and wait till they left. One of the main reasons i booked there was because if the jacuzzi and on site bicycles. The bikes were very under serviced. I could ride one but the other was too salt water corroded to get seat adjusted. I hoped to ride them. And lastly, the jacuzzi...the buttons need to be fixed. The middle button has to taken off and you force your thumb into hole and shove down as hard as you can. It hurt my thumb to do that and made me scared to put finger into that part of electric area. Major letdown. Like i mentioned, nice owners, but I felt let down to pay extra on my trip and not get full use of amenities.

I believe that my review will be in line with most of the reviews that I read prior to booking my stay. Pros: Cleanliness Proximity to beach Parking Washer and dryer Owner communication Bicycles Outdoor shower for cleanup Proximity to coffee shop Comfortable beds Comfortable living room Kitchen Screened porch Proximity to police station Cons: (By no means are these deal breakers for me. As mentioned in heading, I would definitely stay here again.) Traffic and pedestrian noise. I had seen comments about the noise. Initially, we thought that we had a window open because you could hear when pedestrians walked by talking. Once we confirmed windows were closed, we grew more accustomed to what we were hearing. Shower head. We are all around 5'5. The height of the shower head was at an awkward height for us. We tried different settings, but when combined with the height, we never got it to a real comfortable setting. Initial unlock of property. This was really just user error. But in case you stay here, maybe you can avoid my mistake. Looking back, the directions were clear. I just had not used a touch lock that required an initial touch before the number pad appeared. I'm normally tech savvy, but I spent a minute trying multiple doors and re-reading the check-in instructions. I stayed with my 11 year old son and mother in law prior to Christmas. We all really enjoyed our stay. The bungalow was very comfortable. My son loved riding the bicycles on the beach.

Great spot

Owners were helpful and pleasant to rent from. The house was in a perfect location for what we wanted, which was to be close to the beach, good restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. I would return to this property.

Great

Although the weather did not cooperate we enjoyed our stay. The beds were very comfortable and it was a cozy home. The only suggestion would be to lower the mirror in the bathroom as we are only 5'3" and we could only see the top of our heads lol. We hope to be back for that sunset!

Super clean and just steps to the beach! Perfection.

My husband and I stayed here for a “work-cation”. The house was clean and very comfortable. There aren’t too many places you can go out your door to the right and watch the sunrise and left to catch the sunset! We loved walking on the beach and hanging on the screen porch after work. There are also a ton of restaurants with in 3 miles. The homeowners were lightning fast with a question I had. We will stay here again ASAP.

Love love love the Banana Bungalow

Not only was this perfect for our group of 4 but definitely could have squeezed in a couple more family members. Just steps away from the beach and lots to do in the area. Communication was on point with Rich & Lisa. We will definitely be back. On a separate... If you bring dogs, just know that they are not allowed on the beaches at all, but there is a cute little brunch spot called Sweet Sage Cafe that not only welcomes them, but has a doggie menu.

The property is amazing and the owners are the best! They are readily available and if there is an issue they are on top of it. If I was to rate the property and owners on a scale of 1-10 I would give them 100!!

Hi! We are Rich and Elisa. We have four amazing kids who are all out of the house now. Our youngest graduated from UCF, bringing us to Florida's beautiful state. We travel a lot as we started a non-profit working in Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, and Costa Rica. We primarily work with at-risk families who live and work in the garbage dumps. We also have a home for abused and pregnant girls in Ecuador. We love the beach and have enjoyed many beaches around the world. We really love our beach here, and we hope you will, too!

We love that this place is close to the white sandy beaches. There are golf courses close by, restaurants, and other activities within walking distance. It is safe, right next to the police station. The sunrise and sunset are amazing. The banana trees and palm trees surrounding the house and the fun tin ceiling give the place a fun, "beachy" vibe while still being clean and modern. Our favorite is The luxury of walking out the door and taking a few steps to the beach.

You can go fishing in the intercostal or ocean. There is a screened-in porch to eat, do online work, have coffee, or simply enjoy the outdoors. It is right next to a public park, including playgrounds for kids, tennis courts, and pickleball courts. We love it.
