The Allanbreck Hideaway - sleeps 2 guests in 1 bedroom

Our Allanbreck Hideaway was the first studio we converted for guests and is located adjacent to our home with magnificent views over the Loch and Morvern Mountains.

Compact but beautifully formed, this Hideaway has some of our favourite little touches that have been honed and perfected over the years.

Step inside through double French doors into the open plan living space with its comfy seating in front of a jaw dropping statement gas fire. The small kitchenette is to the right and the kingsize. bed is in a partitioned off area of the main living space.

The bathroom has all the hallmarks of our luxury Hideaways; gorgeous freestanding two person bath with claw feet, walk in monsoon shower, fluffy towels and luxury toiletries.

The Allenbreck Hideaway is truly an extraordinary place.From the well appointed rooms with so many special touches to the outdoor area with manicured landscaping and stunning views.The hosts were both friendly and engaging during our entire stay.Upon our return to this area we would not stay anywhere else but here, it’s that wonderful.

OMG Mairi and Tony are the best hosts ! So welcoming and helpful and hilarious and awesome. Mairi runs the place and Tony is her right hand man ( wimpy and doesn’t like to go up ladders …) but Edward their handy man insists Tony is full of BS and just ascertains a fear of heights to avoid painting eaves. Mairi has a passion for her home and a wealth od knowledge of the area to share . Every suggestion was spot on! Loved them and would so stay there again. Plus the Esther was lovely . Methinks Scots lie !!!

Beautifully appointed studio apartment

Gorgeous grounds, front door overlooks a loch, birds abound, welcome snacks, chocolate treats everywhere! Big comfy bed, claw foot tub and spacious shower.

If you have the chance, this is a must!

The room is both cozy and luxe. The views and location are stunning. Mairi is kind and accommodating as they come. I only wish we had stayed longer. Book this property! You will be blown away.

Perfect Glencoe Stay

We loved our stay at the Allenbreck Hideaway. It was a perfect location to explore Glencoe and offered so many comforts. Mairi is a lovely host meeting us upon arrival and showing us about the unit as well as offering so many great recommendations. We were given an upgrade due to a plumming issue, and it only added to the wonderful experience. The unit was very well equipped and very comfortable with a fabulous bathroom! We could not have asked for a better stay in the area.

Loved this place if you don’t zoom past it

We were kind of surprised to find a one hr window was suggested for check in which heads up limited check in hrs or add on costs can be a thing in west area of Scotland. The road there is not for sissy’s or rookie drivers but the place is amazing and view is great. Tony was great They need to revamp directions and give you idea of miles or you’ll zip by it in on a road hard to turn around on.

Great location horrible service

The studio overlooks the lovely Loch Leven and is very comfortable and beautifully furnished. Upon arrival Mairi greeted me kindly and made me feel welcome. During the first two nights the upstairs guests made lots of noise and woke me up several times in the middle of the nights. I wrote a polite note to Mairi and her husband Tony. Instead of addressing my concern, they accused me of being noisy myself and cancelled my reservation. They forced me to move out of the studio during the high tourists season when hotels nearby are all booked. It is most disappointing that the management is so unprofessional. They could have simply asked the other guests to be quiet and that would be the end of their responsiblity. Instead they choose this hostile attitude. I have stayed in many vacation rentals and this is the first time I have this type of experience. Most disappointed.

Due to the nature of this review we feel that a response is necessary however, we do wish to maintain our professionalism. This guest was asked to vacate our property as we could not tolerate her behaviour and the reasons were provided in full to the booking agent prior to the guest being asked to leave. However, for clarification no other guests were resident and noise was not the issue. The Studio - Allanbreck is a self contained apartment within a larger property. Only two other people reside in the larger premises - myself and my husband. We endeavour to ensure that our establishment maintains the highest possible standards in order for our guests have a relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable stay. Furthermore we are more than happy to address any difficulties that our guests may experience with the accommodation. Generally, all our patrons discover that we provide genuine "highland hospitality" and that the accommodation is peaceful and exactly as described.

Excellent Stay

The property itself was wonderful. The hosts communicated well to help us find the place, and they were very friendly/helpful upon our arrival. The fireplace and freestanding tub were highlights. We had a wonderful time, very pleased with our stay.

Gorgeous private suite

This is a beautiful property, really well located to see all of Glencoe, with terrific views and very comfortable to come back to each evening. Mairi and Tony are terrific hosts and we really enjoyed our stay in their lovely apartment.

Highland hideaway

An amazing property in an outstanding area! Views were incredible in rain or shine and couldn’t have asked for a lovelier host ! Will definitely be back when we come back to Scotland

Fabulous West Highlands studio

Lovely comfortable accommodation. Very friendly owners. Great views over the loch and an easy walk along the tarmac covered trail to the Hollytree hotel for dinner. We would happily stay here again.

Perfect location

This was one of our finest stays. The location was great for exploring the highlands. The room was great, bed comfortable, quiet at night. The area is magnificent and we would love to return to stay longer.

Top Spot in Scotland

Mairi's beautiful studio apartment was definitely one of the best of our Scotland/Ireland trip. We would recommend staying there unconditionally! The loch view was unbelievable and the apartment itself very lovely. We enjoyed a walk along a safe and scenic walkway to nearby restaurants and Mairi's friendly hospitality was greatly appreciated! Everyone should take a drive to the nearby Highlands in Glencoe. Literally breathtaking!

Wonderful Studio with Gorgeous View

We loved our stay in Appin. The studio had everything we needed and more! We could sit on the porch and stare at the loch, or sit in front the fireplace and enjoy a glass of wine or a cuppa. The bathtub was the highlight of the bathroom. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming! I highly recommend this lovely and well-appointed apartment.

A Perfect Place to Stay!

The pictures and reviews tell the truth...well partially..it is even better in person. Every detail in this sweet studio has been attended to. The location is perfect and very easy to find. The only thing missing for us was at least one more night there as it was so quiet and comfortable!

Charming and Comfortable Studio

We loved coming to this beautiful studio after a hard and wet day of hiking! Our host had started a fire for us and there were so many thoughtful and welcome touches—it felt like we were staying in a five star hotel. The location is beautiful, the hosts very welcoming and helpful, and the room was so beautiful and comfortable. We had a wonderful stay.

Boutique accommodation

We were met by Tony, a delightful host, who showed us to The Studio. Oh my, why didn’t i book in for a week. The Studio exudes luxury. It has been very well designed and furnished beautifully. There are lots of little personal touches. The best part is the wonderful view of the Loch. We walked along the old railway line to the Hollytree Hotel for dinner.

Sehr edel eingerichtetes 1Zimmerapartment mit Gaskamin und einem schicken Bad mit Badewanne. Toaster, Kühlschrank, Nespressomaschine und Wasserkocher inkl vieler kleiner Snacks und Süßigkeiten ergeben fast eine kleine Küche. Wenn es nicht regnet, hat man von der Terrasse einen schönen Blick aufs Loch.

Highlight of our trip!

Mairi was a fabulous hostess, and the Studio was perfect for our needs and then some! It is immaculately clean, stylish and high-end with an amazing bathtub and fireplace. We felt like royalty staying there and it will definitely be the highlight of our trip!
