The Alabama Gulf State Park and fishing pier are a stone's throw from your vacation rental in case you're looking for fun, outdoor activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, hiking, and biking. Pack your clubs and hit the links at the Craft Farms and Peninsula golf courses, or visit Waterville USA, which offers 17 water slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, Shrimp Boat Village, Wa-Wa World, and Flowrider! Waterville is also an amusement park featuring attractions like the Nascart Go-Carts, Cannonball Run roller coaster, 36 holes of miniature golf, Trampoline Thing, Fun Depot kiddie rides, the Escape House and a large arcade.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

When we got to the room , there was supposed to have been 2 towels per guest. The lamp in the guest bedroom was broken. Chloe, the property manager is an absolutely amazing young woman. She came by to check on us to make sure everything was to our liking. We told her about the towel situation. She had more than plenty sent over to us within an hour. We also let her know about the broken lamp to make sure she knew it was broken upon our arrival. We absolutely loved everything about this condo, the size of it, the view, the pool the location was perfect, there was so many things within walking distance. We will definitely stay here again.

The bed is horrible. The washer machine and dryer needs to be replaced. Just old outdated furniture.

San Carlos 1208

Loved our view from the balcony. Headboard doesn’t seem like it’s attached to bed in master bedroom and mattress wasn’t that comfortable. Every-time my husband rolled over I felt like I was on a trampoline, but other than that we enjoyed our stay and had a great time.

The condo was filthy. Spots on the counter tops. The floors were so dirty we had to either wear socks or shoes to keep our feet from being black on the bottom. The curtain rod in the guest bedroom was almost completely off the wall and curtains would not stay closed so we had to use a chair clip to keep them closed. The two twin head boards were NOT connected to the bed frame and everyone you barely moved in the bed the head boards banged up against the walls so to fix that we had to put pillows between the wall and the head boards. The dryer would not cut off so we had to set timers when we put clothes in the dryer. The whole condo had a mold smell. We had keep a candle lit whenever we were in there. The frying pans were not cleaned. They had been put away dirty. The couch and chairs were filthy along with the rug in the living room. We have been coming to Gulf Shores for 50 years and this is dirtiest place we have stayed. I will not recommend this place. I do have pictures. We will just stick with our usual places we stay and not venture out again.

First time Vacasa rental. Worst experience

I received my door code the day before through the app. Upon arrival at 1615 the door code did not work. Thankfully the customer service worker on the 3rd floor provided me with instructions and a phone number to call. I had to call customer service gain access to my room. If I had arrived a couple of hours later, I was told that customer service would not have been able to correct my door code. This unit is in dire need of repairs. The door frame is ripped at least an inch off the master bedroom wall, showing exposed nails or staples. The dryer only works on certain settings. The ceiling has serious water damage that has been half way repaired in the living room and master. The balcony doors did not lock. IF YOU ARE AWARE OF THIS, POST IT IN THE RENTAL’S DESCRIPTION. DO NOT LEAVE STICKY NOTES ABOUT IT TO THE RENTER TO FIND AFTER YOU HAVE MY MONEY. The only positive I can say about this is that the beds were made, appeared clean, and I was provided towels and limited toiletries. Overall, I’ve lost trust in the management of this property. Vacasa does not post honest listings describing the state of the condo. Don’t book it. To Vacasa- I did not contact you regarding the state of the room during my stay because there’s nothing you could’ve done for the 4 days I was there to replace or repair a dryer, fix water damage, or fix a door frame that was near ripped off the wall. I’ve seen motel 6 rooms with less damage. The consumer deserves an honest listing

Not pleased on this visit...

We love San Carlos Condos but we will stay in a different unit next time. We love the view, location, pool, and amenities.

Girls trip

This condo fit what we needed. Kitchen had all the cooking supplies and utensils. This was the first rental I have stayed in that did not have any seasonings available. Fortunately we are out for dinner so we didn’t notice too much. The view was great and the beds were comfy. Couldn’t figure out the jetted tub but still used it to soak.

Below Average Unit and Stay

Upon arrival, the ceiling paint was flaking off and there was ceiling plaster in the floor in the kitchen/dining room and master bedroom. There was a sticky note stating repairs were scheduled that looked like it had been there for months. We never received any heads up or notice about the ceiling issues until we arrived. The rug in the living room was nasty and had clearly been there for years. All the furniture was old and worn out. The decor was out of style and walls had damage to most of the paint. I would recommend some major upgrades/repairs to this rental. San Carlos is a very nice condo but this was by far the worst rental we’ve stayed in at this property.

Gorgeous View

Ideal place to relax and enjoy the gulf. We had an issue with the balcony door and Liz was helpful and friendly. It was our oversight. There was plenty of room inside and on the balcony.

Great condo

I loved the 12th floor views. They were great. My only complaint isn't with the condo, but other renters in the building. The Marijuana smoke at night on the balcony was so strong, you can't stay outside very long. This was the 2nd year in a row I've dealt with it.

The perfect getaway

We absolutely love this place. Blew out expectations out of the water. Located in a great area with things within walking distance and the access to the beach was perfect with us and our kids. Would 10/10 recommend.

View from the 12 th floor. Was lovely

Great view. The unit was a bit dated. Needs some TLC. The San Carlos is located within a cluster of high rise condos. Off season beach area was pleasantly sparse. Would be nice to provide a beach chair area to leave Sandy chairs and towels.

I have stayed here multiple times; could use some refreshing & more comfortable chairs. On arrival, I received a text asking about any issues with condo. I had a few & most were addressed ASAP. A representative was sent and EJ was friendly & helpful. Very pleased with service. I will stay here again! Please report issues or they can’t be fixed!

Very enjoyable stay!

The condo had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. LOVED the views from the balcony (brought our binoculars and used them a ton)! Beach access and location doesn't get better than this!

We have stayed in 1208 before. Great condo but needs a little TLC. Would stay again.

Why pay Mid range prices for low-end accommodations. Positives and Negatives

We all say we don't spend that much time in the condo, but I still want to know I'm getting the value I'm paying for... Management Company: Vacasa needs to go. I've never had to provide personal information to the Management Company to get access to a condo. I've used VRBO several times now, and once paid, all has been good. Vacasa said they needed to know who was going to be in their property. Well, just because I can tell you where I lived in 1974, doesn't mean I'm the one going to your property. Too invasive for no good reason. Building: Pool and rest rooms are nice. Elevators are fast and hardly had to wait for them. Poorly insulated. Nothing done to mute noises from condo above. Whenever anyone flushes a toilet, you can hear it through the walls. Reminiscent of old hotels. Condo Positives: Great location - very convenient Excellent view from balcony Master bed is firm but comfy Shower water pressure and temp are very good Condo Opportunities ( I have pics but can't upload to review): Serious need of TLC Microwave has sign - do not use. They do have a new one on the counter as a substitute. Kitchen ceiling tray has extensive dust balls Floor tiles (as mentioned on another review) are loose. Carpets and area rug are filthy. I wouldn't walk in bare feet. Tile grout in high traffic areas is dark black versus light gray in areas of non use. Master bedroom light cover missing, but the lightbulbs work. The many artificial plants are old, dusty and really just need to go. The master bedroom shower door does not close all the way. Furniture in kitchen/living room not comfy. My husband sat in the accent chair and his bottom nearly hit the floor. Pantry door paint by handle is worn to the bare wood. The Condo needs a deep clean, repairs and updating.

Outdated property

We loved the condo Building San Carlos Condos. Our unit 1208 for the price needs major update. The Carpet in the bedrooms are nasty. Full of stains. Master bed mattress is uncomfortable. Furniture in living room is worn out and uncomfortable. The decor is very outdated along with the colors for the price it’s being rented. . I would not rent this unit again but I would rent a more satisfying unit at San Carlos.
