Please Note: Road closures are very far from my property and do not affect my property in the least.

Drive up to your own privately paved and gated driveway to a home with a full 365 degree view of redwood and oak ridges. Full sun all day long. Perfect for one or two people. Arrive, relax and take a dip in the hot tub viewing the beautiful mountain ridge as birds sing and red tailed hawks circle above.

Listen to the river flow as you sun bathe all day long without a soul to bother you. The deep ultimate luxury about my property is solitude and the stars at night.
This Property Was Recently Featured In Urban Outfitters.
Queen size antique bed in adjoining yurt or queen bed in loft of home.

I now have excellent high speed internet service if you are in need of having to work while on vacation. (I hope you won't have to work but I thought I'd mention this.)

Wonderful Stay

My partner and I had the most wonderful time at Mary's place. The home was was beautifully appointed and had everything you need. The drive getting to the property was georgous and the view from the art studio balcony was spectacular. I'd highly reccomend downloading google maps offline for the area, you will not have any service. We plan to visit again when we have the chance!

Sanctuary

What a beautiful, calming, peaceful sanctuary for the body, mind, and spirit/soul. It took a while to notice there was something different and understood it was silence. I noticed I became more peaceful bathing in it. At night, I just looked at all the brilliant stars with all the lights turned off and it reminded me that we all traveled here from the cosmos. It was like coming home to my own body temple again and reminding me of who I am when I am at peace. Much gratitude to Mary...she was a wonderful host and had recommendation for what ever you can think of.

Transcendent

Where do we start? The opportunity to have moment of serenity in a world that wants to project chaos is so special and Mary provided that. From the drive to the place, to cultivating our own roots there for a brief time that we had is a moment and an opportunity that neither one of us will forget anytime soon. Thank you Mary for the moment of solace and being willing to share your beautiful space with us. It was properly honored.

Magical Property

We booked a two night stay on the property. The second day a tree fell in the road and took down the powerlines so we had no power. There was a generator and plenty of propane on the property to get us through the power outage. We loved the property so much, We stayed an additional night.The property owner Mary was fantastic and a great artist! The property is filled with love and character! We will be back for our next stay in the near future!

A cozy and private getaway with a beautiful view

Staying at Mary’s property was an absolute delight! The cozy yurt was the perfect blend of comfort and rustic charm, making for a truly unique getaway. Waking up to breathtaking views right outside the door was a highlight, and the sense of privacy made the experience feel like a secluded retreat. The outdoor fireplace was a great spot to unwind in the evenings, adding a warm and inviting touch to the whole stay. Mary was a gracious host and easy to communicate with before and during our stay. If you're looking for a peaceful escape with incredible scenery, this is the place to be!

Christmas getaway

Lovely and relaxing! Couldn’t have asked for a cuter secluded spot for a Christmas getaway. Very comfortable and functional! I couldn’t believe how well the internet worked as well. Awesome stay, hope to enjoy this place again sometime!

Dreamy setting and artfully crafted cabin

I want to start by saying that the cabin was very special. The setting was magical and the artistry of the architecture was very cool. On the other hand, the interior designer in me was dreaming of the updates and furnishings I would use to polish the place up a bit :) ... All to say it was indeed magical AND at the same time, for the price, I found it to be a bit rough around the edges/dated. I was prepared and excited for the rustic side of the experience, understanding that I would need to walk outside to get to the bathroom, that the sleeping options were a loft bed with a ladder to access it or a yurt across a path from the main space structure, but I was a little surprised by the mismatched, piecemeal furnishings and the general wear and tear, and need for some TLC. Communication was good. The cabin is well organized with all pertinent info available and left easily accessible. The drive in is windy and narrow but the pay off of the privacy and peaceful setting was well worth it to us.

Secluded getaway

This majestic spot is the perfect hideaway between Big Sur and Carmel. It’s pretty easy to find in the day time or at night. The hot tub was perfect on a chilly November night. The yurt stayed at the same cool temperature in the heat of the daytime or at night. It was cozy and fun. The loft sleeping space has a really cool skylight that will give you star views on a clear night. My partner and I cooked a few meals and found that there’s just enough space for a couple people to work in the kitchen. The surrounding woods are gorgeous and quiet. It was easy to take day trips to locations at Big Sur and Carmel. Most of the best Big Sur destinations we wanted to visit were within 45 minutes of the house.

Beautiful spot

We very much enjoyed out stay. Gorgeous beautiful location in the redwoods. Great place to enjoy the woods. The cabin and sleeping quarters are great. However, for the price charged, it is overdue for some renovation. There is no heating in the sleeping area, the heater in the pictures is only decorative.

Wonderful getaway

Mary's property is a lovely getaway, it's beautifully handcrafted and in a stunning location. Lighting the indoor fireplace in the mornings and evenings kept it cozy and the views out the skylight in the loft are perfect for stargazing.

Sweetness on the mountain top

We loved loved loved this property . The different indoor and outdoor species to hang out and even choices where to sleep. There are so many beautiful state parks and places nearby to explore ( which we did) but then we were so happy to get back to this spot and relax. The hot tub was perfect after the hikes and the indoor space with so much natural light just felt like an extension of the outdoors. So many sweet artistic touches and while I didn’t get enough time to make use of the art studio, it was another space with good light and energy. We hope to return in the future. Mary could not have been more responsive or helpful.

Beautiful Place!

Dream Home What an absolutely gorgeous and peaceful spot. The whole property is like a lovingly crafted art project. So many unique and creative touches everywhere you look. It is very quiet except for lots of bird song which we loved! I heard the calls of at least 15 different birds including the olive sided flycatcher, western flycatcher, purple finch, warbling vireo, Swainson’s thrush and Wilson’s warbler. The ktchen is pretty well equipped with a fun and unique live edge counter but I did not like the mini fridge. It was way too small for our needs. The Hot tub was clean and hot and a big plus! Things that were not great. Sleeping options either up a steep ladder to a loft or a stuffy yurt with no windows. The upstairs loft has a mattress on the floor and the ceiling is so low that you have to crawl on your hands and knees to get to the bed. The fact that the bathroom is not in the house was really problematic for me. If I have to get up in the middle of the night and go to the bathroom I have to go down to steep ladder put on my shoes go outside and into another building to go to the bathroom. Not great at all. We were here during some warm days and it was hard to cool off the house. There is only one window with a screen on it. The owner kindly dropped some fans off for us which helped immensely. There is a wide variety of things to do in the area. We really loved our hike at point Lobos and having lunch at Nepente in Big Sur.

Secluded Paradise in Carmel

My husband & I spent an amazing weekend in the middle of April to celebrate our anniversary. It was a beautiful time! Pictures don’t do this property justice, it’s on a mountain in Big Sur and totally secluded. It was raining during our stay but still so beautiful. Check-in was easy, the property was great, you can disconnect from everything while you’re there. She definitely thought of everything! The only downside would be if you didn’t have a 4wd car, the road was kinda bumpy and a long steep driveway (we have a Subaru so we were good!) super close to the ocean and some great hiking spots. Probably 5 miles or so from a lot of shops/restaurants. I can’t wait to stay there again when we go back to Big Sur! Thank you so much for having us ❤️❤️

The Treehouse Is Under-rated

Y’all! This place is so much better than the pictures give it credit! It is at the TOP of a mountain, all glass walls, whimsical and amazing! If you want a once in a lifetime experience, you need to stay at Mary’s place!

Relaxing Getaway

This Dream Home was amazing. Perfectly nestled in the hills this property was very private and just the place to getaway from the city life. The stars at night were breathtaking and we enjoyed the Big Sur coast throughout the day. Wonderful time at this property and will definitely we returning.
