Welcome to our ocean paradise at the Kahana Outrigger. We take great pride in our island home and want to ensure you have everything you need for a very enjoyable and comfortable holiday. Our best advertising is the feedback from our guests - please do check out our "Traveler Reviews" on this site.

You won't believe how close to the ocean our condo is. You literally can throw a stone from the Lanai and hit the ocean. The pool is just as close the other way. You can sit on the Lanai enjoying the spectacular and unobstructed view. Our unit is older and has not had a recent major renovation (kitchen and bathrooms) inside. If you like a classic, well cared for unit close to the ocean this condo is for you. If you're looking for a modern renovation this is probably not the condo for you.

We continue to do minor upgrades to the condo each year during our stays. Improvements on our last trip included a new TV in the living room (internet enabled for NetFlix and Amazon), tile repairs, more new chairs for the dining room and lanai, and new boogie boards. All the appliances and mattresses are less than 5 years old. All the other furniture is the condo is less than 10 years old.

We just finished a thorough fall cleaning and maintenance of the unit including bleaching all the kitchen drawers and cupboards, washing all the dishes, cleaning under all the beds, washing all the baseboards, and more.

Here is a list of our favorite things about the condo:

1. The condo is right on the ocean with stunning, unobstructed views of the ocean and the neighbouring islands of Lanai and Molokai.

2. We are on the ground level with easy access to the beach and the pool. We are only a seashell's throw from the water.

3. The condo is over 1,450 sq. ft. - big enough to give everyone their own space.

4. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms - great for multiple families, extended families, and friend get-aways.

5. In addition to the very private beach at your door step, you have your pick of some of the best beaches on Maui. Kahana Beach is just one block from our front door and offers great swimming for the entire family. Napili Bay Beach is just a few minutes north and has some of the best snorkeling conditions on the west side. Just beyond Napili is the famous Kapalua Bay Beach which has been rated the #1 Beach in American twice! Also minutes away are Flemings Beach, great for surfing and boogie boarding, and Honolua Bay, a natural marine life sanctuary.

6. Our Maui home is part of a low-rise, low density condo development with 4 buildings each containing 4 units (5 steps up). We are situated on a quiet street and are only minutes away from all the best island attractions, shopping, restaurants, and world class beaches!

7. It is not uncommon to wake up to morning rainbows over the water, witness visiting humpback whales breaching through the water (in season), or spot resident sea turtles lazily floating out in front of our grassy knoll all from the comfort of our lanai.

Unfortunately do past bad experiences we do not rent to residents of Maui or large groups renting multiple units at the Kahana Outrigger.

Peaceful location! Saw whales daily from the lanai and many fish while snorkeling. Having a bathroom per couple was the best. Make sure to go to Costco before heading over. We save so much money not eating out everyday.Expect long drive times if you want to see Hana, Haleakala, or go scuba diving.

This was hands down my favorite condo I have ever stayed in. The AC units worked amazing. Having 3 bathrooms helped so much. And having access to a washer and dryer made for an extremely smooth trip. The views were breathtaking. The beds were comfortable. Everything needed for an infant was already in the condo. The kitchen was used multiple times and was perfectly stocked. The views from the lanai were that of a painting. We cannot wait to come back with my parents. Thanks for an amazing stay.

Our family loved staying in this condo, the location can not be beat! We appreciated that each bedroom had its own air conditioner and bathroom.The covered patio was a wonderful place for meals & enjoying the beautiful ocean views. Great location and view!

The location was perfect for us. Centrally located to our favorite snorkeling spots, shopping, and restaurants. The unit is a little dated, as they clearly advertise in the description but it was perfect for us and it has everything you need. Kitchen fully equipped with lots of dishes, pots, pans, bowls, storage containers. Pool area was so nice and well kept up. BBQ grills worked great. The view from the patio is amazing and we enjoyed the sunsets from there. Would definitely book it again.

Forever greateful. GREAT location!

A late review, but.. I want to tell people about the person that helped save my vacation at this time last year. His name is Randy and I'm not sure if he is the owner of this unit, host, or both, but I am forever grateful for his caring attitude and his willingness to help work out a problem not of his making. At this time last year my son & his wife found out their 4th child was on the way -they already had 3 little ones (oldest being 4 yrs.) My wife & I realized they could really use a vacation so we surprised them with a trip to Maui. We had paid for a property on the water near Napili Shores. The NIGHT BEFORE the kids were flying in I got a voicemail telling me that the unit was flooded from the one above it & that they were cancelling our stay. No apologies. No help. No scrambling to help us find something. Nothing. With no notice they blew up our paid for vacation & couldn't care less. The twist? There was no unit above the one we rented. So I scrambled to find ANYTHING that was available that would come close to what we had. I was finding nothing & starting to panic when somehow I found this perfectly located property & Randy. He jumped in, took charge, got the maids to come early, quickly checked us in and helped arrange the payment situation as VRBO does not allow same day bookings. The guy was kind, empathetic & just awesome. We are forever grateful. Wonderful location, large & clean condo, plenty of A/C. Good beds. A little/lot dated, but the location balances out.

Location is key

Best location with steps to the beach, turtles swimming by, whales breaching and no afternoon sun. We had a great time. Yes, the place could use updating but you can’t beat the location. The host was amazing as well- great communication and helped us with a late check out when our flight changed.

Overall ok

We were very happy with the location but had a few problems. The house was very old and a lot was not working within the house when we visit (fridge, house lights-we swapped light bulbs with no luck, and dishwasher). The house also had no air mattress which was on the listing and only 4 beach towels. Overall the condo was fine but we were disappointed in the quality.

Great location, owner communication needs improvement.

The description of the condo was accurate in terms of the condition. It does need new flooring, counter tops in kitchen and bathrooms, and some tlc with sliding screen door as well as windows. But considering how close it is to the ocean, I bet it’s hard to keep up with the corrosion caused by salt water. However, the beds and bedding were comfortable, lots of dishes and silverware, great selection of pots and pans, good set of knives, a good coffee maker and dishwasher. Laundry facilities were welcomed. The view from the lanai did not disappoint and the condo was large enough for our party. When we arrived, I texted the owner as he had said that was the best way to contact him, because we could not find beach towels, bedding for the porta crib, and there was only one beach chair. Also there was no stroller. There were 5 boogie boards, 3 pool noodles and 3 woven mats. We did find the towels, they were decoratively folded up on the beds. The owner did not answer.We noticed the refrigerator was taking a long time to cool to the correct temperature, and by Christmas Eve, it was warm. I called the number provided by the owner for mechanical problems and since he hadn’t responded to the text, I messaged him through vrbo to let him know about the refrigerator and that we were calling the number for repair. They never answered and we got a full voice mail all 4 times we called. The owner

Family Thanksgiving in Maui

Our family of five adults plus one infant had an amazing vacation in Maui for 10 days over Thanksgiving. The property location was wonderful and very convenient to Lahaina and other West Maui towns. This worked out well for attending the Maui Invitational college basketball tournament held at the Lahaina Civic Center. The condo is only a few steps from the ocean seawall and a nice private, sandy beach is just around the corner. The pool and tropical grounds of this small complex is meticulously kept. Sunsets from the lanai were beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked although the freezer lacked an ice maker. The property in general is somewhat dated and could use a refurbishment however it was comfortable. Overall, this was a wonderful stay!

Good, but…

Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. We came with a large group and overall we rented 4 units in the complex. This unit is very spacious and you can’t complain about being literally 20 feet from the ocean. The lanai is wonderful and the overall set up of the unit is very good. However, you need to come to the place with the understanding that the accommodations aren’t going to be confused for the Ritz. When we arrived, everything was clean and the couches and beds very comfortable. However, there seems to be minimal effort to keep maintenance up. Tiles were cracked, screen doors didn’t close, there was exactly one kitchen towel for us to use, etc. We aren’t a high maintenance family so these things didn’t bother us, but I can certainly see them bothering other families. A little more effort by the management company would raise the enjoyment of the place exponentially. The ocean access is great, bring snorkel gear as my kids saw turtles every day. The location is great as Maui Brewing and some other stores are walkable. Overall this unit is a wonderful unit and the small complex and pool are very nice, just go into it with eyes wide open.

Vacation in paradise

Home was exactly as described in the listing. Offering its almost private beach and pool. Everything within reach. The house was well apportioned and comfortably slept 5 of us each with their own bedroom and bathrooms. Kitchen had everything we needed to stay for a week. Communication and check-in process was simple and the communication often and clear. We have a wonderful time and hope to be back before too long. This is a definite return visit destination and stay location.

Great Location - Horrible Customer Service

Stay here if you can be completely self sufficient. Don't rely on any of the amenities or perks provided by the host. Not enough dish soap or detergent. Only enough coffee for one day. Showers have low flow and mystery cracks that are probably causing more damage. Cracked tiles and uneven floors. Unsealed grout throughout - particularly the kitchen counters. GROSS! The list goes on. The inside needs a full refresh. When I asked about the missing stroller that was listed on the description the host responded with "cancel the remainder of your stay and move somewhere else". Get a proper map for directions before you arrive. The directions given were unclear. Two different pool access codes listed. Great view of the ocean and the HOA/Strata amenities are awesome. Parking, Pool, beach access.

Amazing Location

The condo is in a beautiful location with a beach and pool. While older and not renovated, it vas very clean, comfortable, and had such an amazing view. The owner was very kind to work with us as our family got separated due to the fires. This is a gem of a place to stay.

On the Ocean in Maui

Beautiful location, right on the ocean, beach right off the lanai. Great location to also explore other beaches in the area and close to Lahaina. Enjoyed the Old Lahaina Luau, best one on the islands. Plenty of room for our six adults and one infant to spread out.
