Welcome to Mermaid Sea Cottage! A coastal style single family home in Ocean View, Delaware. Location, location, location, our home is nearby many different Delaware beaches, boardwalk, fishing opportunities, golfing and vineyards. Three bedroom, two and a half bath thoughtfully fully furnished home to give you full relaxation during your stay. Amenities to include fully stocked kitchen, free Wifi, many TV streaming services, board games galore, and a front porch with sunset views. Recommendations of local dining options, boardwalk, shopping all listed below!

We are located just 5 minutes to the heart of Bethany Beach - with the Beach, Boardwalk, Shops, Restaurants and 15 minutes or less from Delaware Seashore State Park home of fishing, surfing, swimming, and dining!

James Farm Ecological Preserve is a quick bike ride or walk, (or free parking) with Walking/Running Trails, and where a quick contact to Ecobay Rentals will allow you access to Stand Up Paddle Boarding and Kayaks. You could hike for several hours of well maintained paths.

Hickman Road trail offers a 3-mile loop perfect to explore the park, and a 0.3 mile side trail that leads to a view of the Indian River Bay. Trail users can observe forest succession as they travel through meadow habitat that was once a farm. Be on the lookout for wild turkeys and other grassland birds. The trail is grass or packed sand and is open for hiking, bicycling, and seasonal horseback riding.

Holts Landing Trail or the Sea Hawk Trail meanders through mixed hardwood and conifer forest, crosses a meadow, then follows the shoreline of the Indian River Bay. Birding and other wildlife viewing opportunities abound as you experience the coastal bays environment along the trail.

Great stay minutes from beaches and boardwalk. Quiet neighborhood great to bring bikes or scooters for kids. Minutes from the purple trail and a few others with nice look out point (pictured).

Great Ocean View Gem

This property is not to be slept on, but definitely slept in. Great location, clean open floor concept, tons of included amenities, and within walking distance of plenty of local food and drink. If you want to be close to Bethany Beach, be in a small community setting, and have an enough room to both feel at home and host a party, this is the place for you. Highly recommended.

Great Ocean View Location

Lovely house in a quiet neighborhood. Easy access to Route 1, the beach, restaurants and shopping. Check-in process seamless. House well stocked with beach gear and all other necessities.

Home away from home

This property was well appointed with all necessary things for a relaxing stay and then some. The beds were made when we arrived and the owners even provided some personal care times in the bathroom. Towels were available and laundry was convenient. The location of the house was amazing for heading to towers beach and the smaller fishing beaches. Being in between rehoboth and ocean city was a very convenient spot to explore both cities. There was a lovely nature reserve just a short drive away that our kids really enjoyed as when it was low tide (around 12,1pm ish) you could walk so far out into the bay and explore the floor of the bay and the life it had to offer. Overall a really lovely stay in a beautiful home.

Off the Beaten Path

Nice rental away from alot of the hustle and bustle but a quick drive to the beach. Living room/kitchen/dining space seemed a little tight but we spent most of our time at the beach.

Wonderful home

Property is well maintained, clean, stocked kitchen, beds were already made upon arrival. Check-in process was a smooth, no issues. They even had beach chairs and umbrella for us to use which was a nice bonus. House had everything we needed! Great location as its a quick 5 min drive to Bethany Beach and a 1 min drive to the nature preserve. Would absolutely stay here again!

Great location. Quality Tommy Bahama beach chairs. Useful to know the house sways from time to time depending on wind conditions, being on stilts. Ample parking.

All the comforts of home

The home was great, very clean, well-stocked kitchen, lots of towels, nice furnishings, etc., basically everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Close to hiking which was wonderful for runners, cylists, nature lovers. It is a developing area a little outside of Bethany Beach. Weekend driving to Bethany can be a bear because of traffic and parking so we opted for the state and national beaches (Delaware and Assateague) which were far superior, in our opinion. Samantha was very responsive to our questions and needs and that was a huge plus! One suggestion I would make would be to install blinds or shades on both the side kitchen windows and the kitchen door for privacy. It felt a little exposed especially when the neighbors were sitting out on their deck watching us prepare dinner or breakfast. Otherwise a great value.

Clean and new - Lots to do

Nice property in good condition. Responsive owner. Located near land preserve with nice walking/biking trails. Also kayak or standup board tours. Bethany beach/boardwalk/shops 10 min away at most. We liked quieter beaches north of bethany but all beaches are beautiful there. Good golf at Bear Trap Dunes also 10 min away. No grill (unless u bring ur own propane) so be aware if thats important to you. We had a great time there.

Home was nicely decorated and about 7 mins from the beach via car. House does sway a bit since it’s on stilts. We had a nice time.

Beautiful and spacious home for a family trip!

Brett’s home was beautiful and spacious for our weeklong family vacation. We also appreciated the home was pet friendly. Everything was clean and new. Highly recomment Brett’s place when visiting Delaware’s beaches!

Brand new property exceeded all expectations!!

Brett was an incredible host. Everything was brand new and had all the kitchen essentials plus more. Since we were there for over a week it was great to have the ninja blender, juicer and all the modern kitchen ammenities one could ask for. Spacious rooms and extremely cozy when our small group wanted to get together for game nights. It was nice having the outside area where we could grill and play cornhole ( all included). It was better than expected and if Brett will have us again we would love to come back! Thanks Brett!!
