Blom by the river mountain house

Retreat into nature and come home: Bloom by the River is our three bedroom, one-and-a-half bathroom home with expansive deck in the hamlet of Westbrookville, New York. Listen to the soothing sound of the river from nearly every room in the house.

Nestled between the Shawangunk and Catskill Mountain Ranges on an acre of forested land, our home feels like a private retreat just for you, your family, or closest friends. All you see (and hear) are trees, the river, and the sun. Nearly every piece of furniture been handcrafted or gathered by family and friends, creating a soul-filled unique home loved by all.
Glide through the antique french doors, into the main living space (first floor) complete with art bar, yoga mats, indoor movie theatre, and games. Play some tunes on the record player and chill out on the midcentury, daybed couches. We love having dinner at the handmade, oak bar as we watch some of our classic flicks. Indoor, electric fireplace (no need for firewood). Head outside and enjoy the stars as you sit on the adirondack chairs by the crackling fire (yes, wood).

Listen to the flowing river as you enjoy your morning coffee and watch the sunlight sparkle on the water. Quaint stone steps lead down to the riverside chairs.

Hike up the mountain onto our private land and meditate on the giant, glacier rocks. Make breakfast as the sunlight breaks through the trees and into the kitchen. Stroll along the river. Fish. Hike. Relax. Be free.

River bedroom: Queen bed with river views and t.v.
Birch bedroom: Queen bed with lush green wall and t.v.
Wildflower bedroom: Antique double bed with artist desk (no t.v.)
*Two additional sleeping spaces on the mid-century daybed couches.

Our mountain home is just five miles from the quaint town of Wurtsboro with many restaurants, organic grocery, yoga studio, diner, and artisanal shops. Only five minutes away is the Bashakill Nature preserve, vinyard; wonderful for fishing, hiking, and snowshoeing.

House Guidelines:

All linens, towels, shampoo/soaps, cofffee, tea, and breakfast cereals are provided.
Washer/Dryer is available for guests staying 4+ nights.
No pets.
No smoking inside.
Large barn and small garden shed are not for guest usage.
Our home is along a winding road with minimal, local traffic.
