Welcome to Ouray and welcome to our historic cottage built in 1889.

Updated in 2018, this quaint 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath home is perfectly located only one block from Main Street on the south end of town near the Ice Park and Box Canyon Falls. The home has a 50" Smart TV, wireless internet, a ready to cook-in kitchen and a washer and dryer for guest use. The house also has a huge grassy yard, views in all directions, and plenty of parking for jeeps, truck and trailer combo, etc. The house has 2 bedrooms and sleeps four guests.

Please know we are taking special steps in preparing our home for your arrival including following recommendations by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for cleaning and disinfecting. In addition to our usual rigorous cleaning regimen, we are following the protocols laid out by the CDC using the EPA-approved disinfectants for hard (non-porous) surfaces, soft (porous) surfaces and electronics. Linens, towels, bed sheets, etc. are washed per manufacturers guidelines. We look forward to welcoming you to our home and hosting your stay.

We loved our stay at this home. It’s appropriately appointed with everything you need for a wonderful stay in Ouray. Arrival and departures were a breeze so we were able to maximize our fun time in this wonderful home. We will stay here again.

Location, Location, Location!

Excellent place to stay in Ouray! Everything provided along with beach towels for the hot springs. Deer bedded down in back yard. Just a short walk to main street. Perfect!

Home Away from Home

This cottage was clean, comfortable and in a great location. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. The cottage is located one block off of Main Street which makes for a great walk to window shop down Main St, stop for a cold brew or enjoy a lovely meal. As the weather was cool, we felt the heating system worked it’s magic and kept us toasty warm. We’re already planning our next trip and will be staying here.

The home was beautiful, clean, and well equipped with blankets and plenty of extra dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was located in an extremely convenient area for the town. The radiator heaters kept it the perfect warmth and they were easily adjustable! The beds were comfy and cozy. The rooms were spacious enough for two adults comfortable. Having two separate restrooms also made it really easy for all of us to get ready in adequate time for a fun day adventure! We really appreciated the thought and planning that went into the property from the property owner, by providing us with a welcome binder that contained substantial information for everything you could need around the town and state! There were also adequate instructions provided for practically everything you could have a question about. A wonderful stay and we would 100% do it again. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to experience Ouray, and to anyone who can appreciate a simplistic stay. The 360 degree views of the mountains are incredible and really amplify the feeling of being submerged into the mountain experience.
It snowed our second day there, this is the side street next to the house.

5 Stars Isn’t Enough

Everything about this place was wonderful. The hosts (Rhonda) were amazing. The cleanliness was 10 but the rating system only allows 5 stars. Location is excellent. Easy walk to Main Street. Everything you need is available if you want to bring your own groceries and cook for yourself or enjoy one of the wonderful restaurants. We really like the Goldmine personally. We’ll definitely be back.

Perfect location near town.

We loved staying at this house. Beautiful view from front side or back of house. We had deer come to visit numerous evenings. It was August so a little warm in the heat of the day in the living room but if you open the front and back door it helps a lot. The one bedroom has an a/c unit so it is great in there. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location

Charming cottage! Had everything you could need to stay and cook meals. Gas grill a great bonus. Decorated very cute. Comfortable sofas and beds. Really appreciated the ac unit in one of the bedrooms. The location in town was great for being able to walk everywhere but the downside to that was how loud it was at night trying to sleep. Vehicles and ppl all hours. Being hot summer would like to open the window to sleep but was hard enough to sleep through the noise with it closed. It would be awesome to have ac unit in both bedrooms, for sound as well as cooling. Otherwise excellent stay!!

Hi Michelle, Thank you so much for taking time to write a review for our 1889 Cottage. The location is so awesome- just one block off main. I'm so surprised Ouray was noisy during you stay. Most businesses in Ouray close at 9:00 pm at the latest and south-bound traffic out of town over Red Mountain is almost non-existent once the sun goes down. Ouray is so quiet and peaceful. Great little house

We really enjoyed this house. It was clean. It had super fast internet which was excellent and appreciated. The only problem was an invasion of tiny gnats. They were all over Ouray, so not unique to the house. It certainly was annoying to wake up to gnats swarming all over the kitchen, bathrooms etc. we were there during a heatwave, so having the one window air conditioner saved us! It would have been unbearably hot without it. You couldn’t open the windows as the gnats just came through the screens. We were so thankful for that AC! Overall a great little house.

A Nice little Cottage

Very convenient to town, by foot. Excellent scenery from the porch and a nice backyard with a picnic table. Kitchen was full of utensils and an outside grill made it easy to stay in and dine.
