Sweet Mountain Charmer in Town - Near Telluride, Ouray - All!


Charming historic bungalow in Ridgway town center. Architectural renovation of the entire house has created a modern, comfortable, sunny mountain home that still preserves all of the historical charm and detail. Enjoy views of Courthouse from the private flagstone patio. The house allows for privacy and gathering with friends / family. Large fenced-in yard. Short walk to Ridgway restaurants, brewery, cafes, antiques, public library, grocery store, hardware, bike path and Uncompahgre River valley, beautiful town park with playground, mature cottonwood trees, and summer farmer's market.

The house is most comfortable for 4 adults, and the rates listed below are for 4 adults. We are willing to consider larger groups for an additional charge; please contact for details. We have a three-night minimum stay. Perfect for family vacations, getaways with friends, family reunions, the wedding party, or a quiet retreat.

Two bedrooms have full-sized beds with full closets. A third master bedroom has a queen bed with full closet. Master bedroom opens to private back porch. Bathrooms have radiant floor heat, tiled showers (2) and bath (1). Enclosed sunporch and two generous cushioned window seats for lounging. Tastefully designed kitchen has everything you need for cooking. High efficiency forced-water radiator system on multi-zoned system, plus gas Malm stove for chilly nights. Lots of sun, large windows, and high-efficiency insulation keeps the house cozy in winter and cool in the summer.

All that the San Juan mountains have to offer are right outside the door. Easy access to hiking, biking, skiing, walking, swimming, shopping and exploring. 30 minutes drive from Montrose, 20 minutes to Ouray, 45 minutes to Telluride, with its world-class skiing and shopping.

Nightly, weekly, and monthly rates available. Additional security deposit (refundable), cleaning fee (non-refundable) and taxes. See details below. We have a three-night minimum stay.

The location was great and we enjoyed Ridgway. The house clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well appointed. Everything was in working order and we had everything we needed for a great stay. The beds were quite comfortable, and the bedrooms were spacious with plenty of room. There is a nice outdoor area. The grill worked great. We would definitely stay again.

Such a cute, comfortable house! Loved the back porch and being able to walk from the house to the town. Awesome location for folks for folks wanting to visit Silverton, Ouray, and Telluride since we wanted to hike/run the Hardrock Course. I would definitely stay at this place again if in the area. One of the best VRBOs I’ve stayed at!

Absolutely Wonderful Ridgway Stay

We loved our stay! Amazingly well stocked and functional kitchen. Extremely clean and nicely decorated throughout. Thought the home was even nicer than the pictures. Beds were comfy as well! Would definitely recommend staying here.

Great House right in town

Loved the place. Cute little house right in town, everything was very sufficient for a short stay. Easy walk a few blocks in to town for coffee or dinner. Kitchen was well stocked with all the necessities. Comfortable beds and a great small deck and patio out back for relaxing.

Quirky and Comfortable Home

This place was great for our family of five. There was room to spread out. There’s plenty of space for parking and a yard big enough for the kids to play and run around. Just inside is a modern washer/dryer that worker flawlessly. You enter into a “sun porch” style room and the master bedroom is to the left with a bathroom and the remainder of the house is to the right. The kitchen is older, but functioned well. There’s not a lot of space to store pantry food and the pan selection is slim. There’s a modern full size fridge-freezer. Oven and stove both worked well. We even used the dishwasher and it too functioned as expected. The dining room is tight but there is seating for six. One of the bedrooms is off the dining rI’m and the other is off the living room. There’s a light/chandelier That hangs very low in the living room, So if anyone in your party is taller, mind your head. The only other thing is that the house is not airtight… It is older, Which brings charm and bugs.nothing too scary, just a lot of tree bugs. The walk in to town is quick and it is very quiet out there minus the highway noise. Overall we enjoyed our stay here.

Wonderful

We enjoyed our visit at the Solar Ranch. We enjoyed eating out on the porch. The pictures of the kitchen don’t really show how the kitchen works and it does work well. The house is a wonderful old house that has been nicely updated with energy efficient windows and binds, making this house nice a cozy. A plus is that had fun weavings and interesting art. It would be great to see solar panels on the roof. It is something we are always looking for in a rental. Thank you for a great stay.

Ouray Ice Festival Weekend

We had a great weekend staying at this property & attended the Ouray Ice Festival. Plenty of room to store our climbing gear & ample kitchen space for cooking group meals. We would definitely stay again!

Great place & so convenient!

We had a great time in Ridgway - and the house was great. The house itself had everything we needed (and more) & was so close to restaurants and shops. The house binder was really helpful in selecting places to eat - Eatery 66 was a clear winner! The property manager was helpful with our questions & getting into the house was a snap. It was perfect for our fall getaway - would definitely come back and stay again. Thanks!

Perfect Home Base

This was our second time staying a week at the Blue Cottage (2021), as we like to call it, and it's just as we remembered. One story, well-equipped--every detail is taken care of. It's a short 5 minute walk into Ridgway and its great restaurants, grocery store and coffee place, not to mention the greenway to Ridgway State Park. We love the fact that Ridgway is non-touristy and yet in close proximity to everything in the San Juan Mountains! We even drove to Montrose and Black Canyon National Park for a day. Truly a comfy stay and a magical area to visit in the fall.

A home away from home in Central Ridgway- close to Telluride and Ouray.

This was one of the best places we have ever rented. Location was a perfect 1/2 mile or less to the town square and several restaurants and market and a route that leads to a river walk. The layout was great, beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked and the fenced backyard was so perfect. Good wifi, great communication, cute touches throughout. What more could you ask for?

Perfect Stay!!

We loved this darling home. Came for a family wedding. Perfect for our family of four adults! Lots of privacy and can walk to everything. The host was very accommodating. If we go back to the area we would love to stay in the same home.

My family has been coming to Ridgway for over 40 years! We love to get-away from our cities to be in the sunlight, air and incredible mountains of the area! Sometimes we come for family time, sometimes time with friends. We wish we could be there more often...but now we can share it.

Ridgway is a perfect location : private enough to keep it a little bit secret, but close to Telluride, Ouray, Durango, Montrose and the majestic San Juan Mountains. There is hiking, biking and skiing for all levels. There are public hotsprings for families and private springs for couples. Telluride offers a film festival, music festivals and some of the best skiing in the world! My grandfather found the house in the 1960's and we've loved the area ever since!
