Lovely, roomy apartment in a quiet location, yet close to Kirkcudbright with it's shops and eating places.The kitchen is well equipped and the bedrooms spacious, with very comfortable beds.The woodburning fire in the lounge was a real bonus.

This is a fantastic place to stay, excellent amenities and close to a lot of amazing local activities. The space is large, huge bedrooms and bathroom. Super clean and comfortable, loved staying here. Hosts were excellent and gave us amazing recommendations. Definitely worth staying!

This is the perfect get-away - a beautifully furnished wing (really it's a house) in an idyllic pastoral landscape - and Fleet Bay on the horizon. You can really chill and unwind here. The kitchen has all you need to live well - and the hot tub awakens your inner Viking. The hosts were charming - altogether highly recommended.

A wonderful cosy house great for families!! The house was clean, comfortable and well-equipped, and the hot tub was just fabulous-plenty of wood provided! Lovely owners and lovely pigs!! Would definitely come again!

What a wonderful week we have just spent here. A spacious, comfortable, beautifully decorated accommodation with everything we needed. Peaceful, lovely walks, near to some lovely beaches. Lots of wildlife to be seen. We saw Kytes, fox, rabbits, pigs and sheep. Met our hosts, Martin and Sue. A lovely helpful couple happy to help any way they could. We were even blessed with a week of sunny warm weather. Beautiful part of the Scotland. We hope to return to Auchenhay House again.

Lovely peace and quiet.

Accommodation very clean and comfortable. Lovely beds and hot showers. Friendly and informative hosts . We really enjoyed feeding the pigs. Would love to return in the future. Highly recommended.

We have just enjoyed a fantastic week in this beautiful property, it was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The hosts, Martin and Sue, made us feel very welcome and let us know they were on hand if there was anything we needed.The property is ideally situated for exploring lots of what Dumfries and Galloway have to offer, many places of interest, beautiful coastline, historic sites, castles & gardens. We absolutely loved meeting and feeding (spoiling) the pigs and also sitting in the garden watching red kites, foxes, a deer, sheep and lots of rabbits!I would not hesitate in recommending The Duchy to anyone and really hope to be able to return one day.Thank you for helping us have such a lovely holiday (and who said you can’t get a sun tan in Scotland ), the weather was perfect

A lovely stay

A lovely property a few minutes drive from Kirkcudbright. Very spacious and comfortable. My only minor criticism is that there was no kitchen roll or washing-up liquid! I regard these as essentials. Otherwise well equipped. Owners on hand if you needed them but not intrusive.

What a wonderful place

We needed an upscale, comfortable place with two separate bedrooms for my wife and I and her parents while visiting my mum in Dalbeattie. The Duchy Manor wing was perfect. Nicely appointed and clean. Everything upgraded and modernized. Beautiful location with view of the ocean. It worked out perfectly for us. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we're in the area. Martin and Sue are wonderful hosts. - We also fell in love with the pot bellied pigs !

Lording it for the week.

Lovely spacious accomodation with views over farmland to the sea in the distance. Owners were very friendly, greeting us when we arrived. the accomodation had every thing you would need to make your stay comfortable. unfortunately we had to cut our stay short due to a medical emercency. The owners were very sympathetic and offered us a discount if we were to book again in the future. This was very generous because this was no fault of their own and they would still have to make the property good for their next visitors.

Scenic quiet spot, perfect

Fabulous clean accommodation with everything you need. Quiet seclusion with lovely views, perfect for a nice relaxing break. Swedish hot tub a plus. Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic luxurious accommodation in lovely surroundings with fine views

Booking process clear & straightforward. Communication good. Hosts very friendly and accommodating. Personal touches very nice and welcoming. Loved the log fired hot tub and outdoor pod. Plenty of logs provided for this and the indoor log burner. We all loved feeding the pigs, they were very entertaining. Enjoyed walking in the field at the back of the house. Loved the property very much and will return. Would highly recommend. Loved Laggan's restuarant & view, recommended by Sue and enjoyed exploring the surrounding area. Many thanks to Martin and Sue, excellent hosts.

Lovely and peaceful

Loving cottage in a quiet and peaceful location but within a short drive of shops and eateries. Views of the sea and hills. Home away from home. Clean and tidy. Hosts very nice and helpful.

Fantastic Holiday Home

Beautiful house which is tastefully decorated and a touch of luxury with large bedrooms and luxurious bathrooms. Everything you needed was provided including wood for the wood fired hot tub. There is plenty of space outdoors for you to use with a seating area and large grassed area. The views from the house are phenomenal with views over rolling fields to the sea in the distance. It was out of this world. Animals live in the field a few feet from the house including the owners pigs which gave us great entertainment and are really friendly. The hot tub was pretty easy to use, but did require a bit of forward planning. We absolutely loved our stay in this house and I would go as far as saying it is the best holiday cottage we have stayed in. You will definitely love it there.

Absolutely stunning house in a stunning location. Excellent hosts and facilities. Log fired hot tub and garden pod made this a really special stay. Very high spec interiors. LOVED IT!!

Peaceful location, great amenities, lovely property

The Duchy is a lovely property, annexed-off from the main house. Log burners, comfy beds, window seats, hot tub, and lovely hosts- all were highlights for us. Lots of outside space to run around or say hello to the animals and wildlife. We’ll definitely be staying again.

Duchy does the job

Views to the sea were an unexpected bonus, stayed cosy despite very wet and windy weather. Good location for getting around the area.
