Quandt Cabin - Old Tahoe Cabin - WALK TO LAKE!

The Quandt Cabin is a charming Old Tahoe style 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. It has a knotty pine interior with forest green colored carpeting. There is a large living room area with stone fireplace, television with cable, VCR, DVD, telephone, wireless internet and washer/dryer. The kitchen is small, but has a gas range, microwave, dishwasher, pots, pans, dishes, etc. There is a large deck which wraps around the back side of the house with patio furniture and a charcoal barbecue (summer only).

There is level access and parking for up to 5-6 cars. This house is walking distance to Tahoe Park Private Beach area and is easily accessible to the bike trails. You are minutes to world class skiing at Palisades/Alpine Ski Resort, Homewood Mountain Resort, and Northstar at Tahoe!

This home does not allow any parties or events as this home is in a residential neighborhood, and quiet time is from 9pm-8am. Thanks for your cooperation!

There is an electric fence system at this house to protect it from bears when unoccupied. Detailed instructions will be given to you once booked.

Cleaning fee includes linens and towels. You may want to bring beach towels, as those are not provided.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location to the lake is amazing, we loved the patio and the # of beds was great for our family of 9 people. We loved that it had great kitchen amenities, showers had great water pressure and got hot very quickly. It was very convenient that it had a washer/dryer. However these are the items that would have made it better. #1 No driveway so you are parking on the street going down steps to get to the cabin, a little difficult for handicapped or elderly and that should be noted in the description. #2 There is not much exterior lighting so it's very dark at night on the outside of the cabin, should have some exterior lights added. #3 I was concerned about the electrical; the downstairs receptacles and charging points getting very hot while plugged in. Potential fire hazard. #4 I rated the cleaning a 4 out of 5, there were cobwebs on the walls and windows. #5 The downstairs King/Queen bed was a very hard mattress with a topper on top. I would recommend changing out the mattress or box springs as I had back and hip pain after sleeping on that bed. All other beds upstairs were reported to be comfortable. #6 I do think for the condition of the property, it is a bit overpriced.

Nice neighborhood

This property was great for our group of four adults. It’s location was close to where we needed to be. It would have even nicer if there was comfortable outdoor seating.

True mountain cabin experience!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beyond Satisfied! We had such high expectations as we were cabin owners who lost our cabin in the 2021 Caldor fire. This was such a perfect time and place for us to take a family vacay. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay, this is a wonderful cabin. The picture is deceiving as it is MUCH bigger than it looks. Clean and well-maintained. Managers were there for us, but gave us the privacy we wanted. Fireside cafe is walking distance and the private beach has so many cute activities available (summer) - worked well for us (we had both - a couple grandkids and a couple of dogs - they both did well). Close enough to Tahoe city stores and attractions to bike or ride, but far enough away to have it quiet. Neighbors were a mix of renters and owners, but all were nice!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Quandt Cabin is cozy and clean yet also dark inside and somewhat run down. There was a fully stocked kitchen and the location was fantastic (easy walk to lake and shops/restaurants). However, the bath towels were threadbare and the table on the deck was very small and unuseable for a larger group so not condusive to grilling and eating outdoors. Also, we were not given notice that there would be tree trimming occurring outside the cabin during our final morning...this impacted our stay.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I had the experience of being fleeced by a company willing to capitalize on the supply and demand curve. The condition of your property was appalling. As a result, I would scrutinize future purchases from your firm.Broken lock on master bathroom, uncomfortable beds, dryer didn’t work, kitchen sink clogged (needs a thorough rooting), furniture in poor condition. Front stone landing was broken. The back deck had nails sticking up. I’ve seen cleaner carpets in a fraternity.

Great Summer weekend in Tahoe

We had a great time staying here! It’s only an 8 minute walk to the private beach. We grilled at our cabin since all those are closed at the private beach (probably for the rest of the summer). Highly recommend!

Great location for walking to everything-beach, market, and restaurants plus biking and hiking.

Place had spider webs and dusty. WIFI not verry good.Dined of access to the privite beach. Quiet are good to rest and be with your self.

The house was a bit old however so one could hear creaking and movement in the night. The property was clean and well-maintained but the photos made it appear as if the amenities were newer.
