Gite Barbey - A 500m de la Mer

The Gîte Barbey is the perfect base from which to relax and explore Normandy and its heritage!

Just a few metres from Utah Beach, this charming little cottage offers all the comforts you need for a pleasant stay: a peaceful, rural setting close to tourist attractions, with linen provided and Wi-Fi – all you need to do is unpack your bags!

Accommodation
The cottage is semi-detached from the owners’ home. With a floor area of 30 m², it is laid out as follows:

- Entrance on the ground floor into the living area, which includes a sofa and a high dining table, and a fully-equipped kitchen with hobs, a microwave, a coffee maker and kettle, a fridge, a washing machine, etc.
- The shower room with toilet is also on the ground floor.
- Access to the mezzanine via a staircase, where you’ll find a sleeping area with two single beds.

Covering an area of 1,000 m², the enclosed garden is accessible and may be shared with the owners.

Free on-site parking. Baby equipment (travel cot and high chair) available on request. Pets are welcome.

Neighbourhood
The house is situated between the countryside and the sea, between Sainte-Mère-l’Église and Pointe du Hoc, just a few metres from Utah Beach, the D-Day landing site, and its museum.

Surrounded by nature, with cows and horses all around, you’ll enjoy a peaceful stay!

There are plenty of local shops: La Madeleine grocery shop, bakeries 4 km away, La Zone seafood restaurant 1 km away, and a Super U supermarket and petrol station in Sainte-Mère-Eglise 12 km away.

- Utah Beach Museum, the D-Day beaches
- Beaugliot Nature Reserve, Sainte-Mère Eglise, etc.
- Visiting historic sites in the Cotentin, hiking, horse riding, golf, sailing, boat trips, walking (the GR223 hiking trail), swimming, fishing, cycling on greenways, etc. There’s plenty to choose from!

Other notes
- The accommodation has a staircase that is a little steep for older guests.
- Pets are allowed, subject to a supplement of €3 per day, payable on arrival.
