Fun in the Sun at Surfside Beach.

The Beach Bothy is a charming Surfside Beach rental just a short walk from the beach. Two decks, three bedrooms, two baths. Rental includes gas grill, beach chairs and surfboard. Perfect for girls' weekends, two families or bird watching.

Artsy, mid-century décor. Fully stocked kitchen, regular coffee maker and a Keurig. Two decks. From the front one you can just see the waves of the Gulf and the back deck has a view of the Inter-coastal Waterway and great sunsets.

Guest access
Whole house. The master bedroom has a king and one twin bed. One bedroom has a queen and a twin, and the third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds with extra twin mattresses . The living room has a single futon. Propane gas grill available.

Other things to note
Everyone asks the definition of "bothy". It is a Gaelic word that means a small cottage, especially one for communal use in remote areas. Bothies are particularly common in the Scottish Highlands and are used by hikers. Everyone treats the cottage as if were their own and helps keep up the repair; often leaving something for the next guests. My friends have helped me furnish our Surfside bothy and I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Please treat it as if it were your own home. Also note that the Surfside tap water is not drinkable, bottled water is provided..

Great location

The house was perfect for our family of 7. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short due to the hurricane, but the owner of the property was great and went above and beyond to make sure we had some where else to finish our vacation. The house is very spacious and all the furniture is very comfortable.

Summer beach fun

We spent a weekend at this property with my spouse, 3 kids and grandma. We loved the location of the property. It is literally right next to the beach! The house was spacious for our family of 6 and the kitchen was well equipped. There were a few minor issues such as a few lights being out, the foot pedal on the kitchen trash can not working and the microwave being a bit unreliable. However these did not significantly impair our experience and we had a great time.

Classic Family Summer Beach Stay

We have a wonderful stay at the adorable Beach Bothy. One block from the beach & the wagon made going to and from with kiddie stuff easy. The front porch was my favorite. Highly recommend!

Convenient and Homey

The Beach Bothy was a perfect place to stay for the best Surfside Beach experience ever! The host provided a wagon and two boogie boards to use at the beach. It only took a few minutes to walk to the beach. It was so convenient to be able to go back and forth to the beach so effortlessly. There was a hose to use for rinsing off sand before going up to the house. Inside the house we found that we had all of the comforts of home, including tissues, paper towels, Culligan water, dishes, plenty of towels and washcloths, and complimentary soap and shampoo. And there's a washer and dryer with Tide pods provided for laundry. The floors were clean and the linens were nice on the beds. We slept well and the house A/C works great. My husband even found a book to read in one of the bedrooms that he said was a great book ("The Ocean at the End of the Lane" by Neil Gaiman). It's worth mentioning that the water in Surfside is yellow. It took a day to get used to the smell of the local water and to be ready to take a shower in it. The host provides Culligan drinking water. We do hope to stay at the Bothy again because we had the best beach vacation ever there. Our only disappointment was that the showers and tubs were not clean by hotel standards and the surfaces of the side tables and the kitchen countertops were dusty. We spent the first hour scrubbing the tubs with cleaner we brought. There was a soap bar from a previous guest still in the shower and soap scum on the shower walls. But Clorox cleanup and elbow grease went a long way to clean it up. The main bath tub drains so slowly that we ended up using only the master bath. The amazing experience we had there was so worth the extra time cleaning up the tubs a bit when we arrived. The floors, furniture, and linens were stellar. Overall this was a great place to stay!

Nice house

This was the first time that my family and I had been to Surfside beach. In the past, we've gone to Port Aransas or Mustang Island. It's a nice little community. The beach is relatively clean, and the waves didn't seem as strong as Port Aransas. My family and I had a nice time in the house and it's in a good location. We had a couple of minor glitches in the house, but nothing we couldn't get over. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Family Vacation

We were very happy with our stay. The house was beautiful inside and very well taken care of. It was just a short walk to the beach which was very nice. Communication with the owner was excellent also. Thank you for allowing us to use your property.

Thanksgiving Break

Owner was amazing and property was terrific. There was food left in the fridge from previous guests. I wasn't expecting that after staying in other aces. No complaints tho it was terrific

Real cute

Had an awesome time in this beach house. Walking distance to the beach, go early and set up your stuff. Very clean. We had 9 people and had plenty of room. We will be back next year.

Cozy home

Nice place to stay, plenty of room, they had everything we could possibly need. It was a short walk to the beach. Only a couple small negative things we experienced was the amount of mosquitoes around the property, ( I know that really can’t be helped, but would have been nice to enjoy the lovely patio) and the advertisement of a surfboard for our use. There was not a real surfboard. Normally not a big deal, but we picked this listing because of it. Overall it was a really nice house and location. Donna the owner was very responsive to any questions we had.

Sonja, Sorry about the surfboard issue, it was sold to me as a surfboard and other renters have referred to it as such. So I don't know what to say . . .

Wonderful stay at a family home!

Feels like you are staying at a family member's house! It's homey, quiant and well stocked. Loved the short walk to the beach. Quiet town, great place to unwind in a relaxing setting. Thanks Donna, for being responsive...we had a great time!

Daughters 16th fiesta

We just checked out from property & everyone loved it!! Way better than the pictures online! Def will recommend this property to others :) my daughter and niece really enjoyed themselves this wknd for their 16th birthdays & such a short walk to beach.

Perfect Beach Get-away

I highly recommend this property. The beach rental is cozy and I loved the beachy decor. The home was very clean and well stocked. You can walk to the beach but I recommend you purchase a beach permit so you can park on the beach so you don't have to haul your stuff. The only complaint is there are no steak knives (so bring your own if you're going to grill) and the 2nd bathroom shower water pressure is low. The water pressure in the master bathroom is great. I would stay here again.

As soon as I go over the bridge and see the waters of the Gulf I breathe a big sigh of relief and my blood pressure goes down. Surfside is much more relaxed the Galveston.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Cozy and decorated like a home, not a sterile rental. My friends have helped me furnish the house and it is truly a home away from home. Plenty of DVDs for the kids in the bunk room and everything you need in the kitchen.
