Beautiful home, amazing views, 40 acres, French Creek meandering through valley

This 3000 sq ft, custom built home sits on 40 acres and has huge deck off the side and a covered front deck. There is a huge fully appointed kitchen that features a gas range, 2 ovens and a warming drawer. The views are spectacular from the full length covered front porch or the huge side deck (perfect for watching the stars). The 40 acre property is right in the middle of the Black Hills and is surrounded by forest service with French Creek rolling through the valley. There are an endless amount of trails that can be accessed directly off the property for all your outdoor activities (ATV's, horseback riding, hiking and climbing).

The outdoor activities are endless with great hiking, ATV or mountain bike riding, horseback riding or just relaxing in the heart of the hills. It is also very close to downtown Custer, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, great restaurants, bars and much more. Horses and ATV's have access to endless trails right off the property.

And we just added a hot tub!!! Relax after a busy day in the hills by sitting out in the hot tub under the stunning stars. A perfect way to end the day or enjoy your morning cup of coffee.

Absolutely incredible cabin, tucked into the surrounding forest of the black hills, easy/scenic drives to many of the national park attractions and local towns, our family had wonderful time exploring the area with this as our home base.

We lived the location- close to Crazy Horse Monument and to Custer but no noise on the property except for the wind and wild life. We heard elk! (My first time) We walked everyday on the property. We enjoyed the deck and how well the property fit everyone. We grilled out and ate out 1 night in Custer. Beautiful kitchen to cook in. We also loved that the basics were there- ketchup, odds and ends. Maybe we got lucky with that..?. We did a lot of things in the area- Custer state park, Jewel cave, etc. hands down would rent here again! I’m sad we didn’t get to use the great big fire ring. This place is perfect if you want access to what the Black Hills area offers but also might just want to stay home and sit on the deck for a day!

We have gone to the Hills for a family get together for the last 10 years. This cabin is by far the best place ever! Spotlessly clean, spacious and stocked with all the essentials and more. Loved the hot tub and the awesome deck with the spectacular view! Such a peaceful and secluded location. We plan to come back next year for sure. Highly recommend!

Awesome, beautiful property inside and outside. We especially enjoyed the large wrap-around deck. Great views! Super place to hangout with our kids, grandkids, and dogs. 2025 is our third family vacation at this house on French Creek. Amazing! The house is clean and efficient with ample space for each family to have privacy. Kids love the swing and pool table. Hot tub is a must. Early on our second morning we saw five bull elk in the meadow in front of the house. How awesome is that!!?Hosts are very attentive without hovering, great attention to detail. Love the quiet, clean air and mountain views. Check-in couldn't be simpler. Thanks Sarah & Dave

Easily one of the best cabins we’ve ever been too. If you like to cook the kitchen has anything you could need. Same with activities for the whole family. The property was absolutely a paradise. We LOVED it. Every time I thought I might need something I’d simply find it already provided.

We have rented quite a few vacation homes and this is one of the best we’ve ever stayed in. It was very clean and had everything our family of 8 needed to have an amazing time. Communication with the host was excellent and we loved the seclusion, privacy, and most of all the beautiful setting and access to hiking and mountain biking trails. Would give it 10 stars if possible!

Beautiful and well appointed home on stunning land

We enjoyed a lovely three night stay and would highly recommend this property. Excellent communication from hosts, welcoming flowers and chocolate, cozy and beautiful home. We saw countless deer on the property and enjoyed the hottub and stunning deck. Many games available and a pool table led to great times with the kids.

Quiet and Spacious

Cannot say enough about this property and host…beautiful, restorative, quiet, fully stocked, comfortable, spacious, responsive & communicative…. Know that you are getting remote and quiet. This is what our group wanted and it delivers perfectly! To include bugling elk! Amazing kitchen and baths. Beds were a touch soft for our crew, but that’s a very personal preference. Fire ban in effect during our stay because it was so dry. We were looking forward to fires and I’m sure they would have been top notch with the beautiful and substantial fireplace and fire pit. Thanks so much Dave & Sandy for creating such an amazing home and stewarding these very special lands.

Peaceful Getaway in the Hills

House was very well equipped and nicely furnished. The best part was the properties secluded location with National Forest Land surrounding it. Elk were bugling down the valley and the stars were awesome.

We love this place!!

This was our second vacation at this house. If it was not good the first time we would not have been back. House is modern and clean, well stocked and set up for families. Family Vacation

This property is amazing. Private, quiet, big space inside and out, space for the dogs to run, close to the sites in Custer State Park and the town of Custer. If you are looking for a secluded get away, that is close enough to the things you want to do in the Southern Black Hills, this is the place. Dave was great at communicating with us, the house has all your cooking essentials from spices to cookware. We loved it, our kids loved it and our dogs loved it!

French Creek Cabin

There are no words that can describe the peacefulness and beauty of this property. It’s set in a beautiful little valley. The only sounds you hear are French Creek meandering through the property and the birds singing. The cabin is fully supplied with many items including shampoo, body wash and conditioner. Plenty of space for a group to spread out and relax on the wraparound deck. If that’s not enough jump in the nice hot tube or go down to the fire pit and make some s’mores. This place is perfect. Cannot say enough about our host Dave. He has great communication skills and will text you once in a while to see if there’s anything that you need to make your stay even better. You can’t go wrong renting this property. There were eight in our group and had room for more.

Awesome, relaxing getaway!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Black Hills area has plenty of wonderful activities and attractions, so we had a week full of inspiring daytime adventures. Nonetheless, this property was the biggest hit of our stay. It is a peaceful, secluded, beautiful and relaxing setting that creates indelible memories all by itself. Campfires, hot tubbing, hiking on property, nature, wildlife, grilling, upgraded kitchen - the complete package. David was a wonderful host as well. Very highly recommended!
