Right on the beach, 20 metres from the high water mark just south of Paekakariki. Renovated to highest modern standards including fully equipped modern kitchen, walk-in shower with heated tile floor and heated towel rail in main bathroom, separate toilet downstairs, double glazing throughout, 2 sets of lieback bi-fold doors leading to beach-side lawn and balcony off main bedroom with glass balustrade to give uninterrupted view of Kapiti Island and the sea.
Stunning sea, sunset and Kapiti views and you might be lucky to watch a para-glider land on the beach in front of your holiday home. A totally relaxing experience where if the weather is fine you can go for long beach walks or just sit on the lawn and watch the waves, the seagulls or watch the sun go down. Or if it is wet you can just curl up with a book or look out and see the many moods of the sea. It is a 15 minute beach or bush walk to Paekakariki Village with 3 wonderful cafes, the village grocer which has everything you need. Just like an ā€˜old fashionedā€™ grocery store. Train station 15 minutes walk or 5 by car. Leave your car there to visit Wellington. 10 minutes by car to Coastlands Shopping Centre. The start of the Escarpment walking track from Paekakariki to Pukerua is 10 minutes walk away.
And if you don't want to cook Fisherman's Table Restaurant is just 3 minutes walk.

Worked for us

We used it as a base for activities in Wellington city which did not use the property to its full potential as a beach side holiday home. We wanted to be on the train line and near the Paekakariki Escarpment Walk entrance. (In fact the weather was mostly wet and windy during our stay.) But it worked for us.This property is priced justifiably on its location as quite high end but did not have all of what you would expect. No hand towels, no tissues, no face cloths and no milk but I'm sure this latter was just an oversight. The lounge tv is too small for the room and we would recommend it is updated to at least a 54 inch Smart TV. We found a used baby's nappy in the upstairs rubblish bin. Otherwise though, the house was spotless and the many personal touches were intriguing. The queen bed was excellent and as per the photos, the master bedroom has stunning views!

A wonderful break away!

We loved this place... it was awesome being able to see and hear the sea and to access it so easily. This property ticks so many boxes - we would very highly recommend it. Penny and Bas are fantastic hosts too :)

Awesome rental!

Of the five rentals I booked for our trek across the North Island, this is the one I was most looking forward to, based on the reviews. And it blew away my expectations. There is truly something magical about Ariki View. The awesome view/location, relaxing walks on the beach, the calming waves and sunset are all amazing. We had such a great time creating memories our family will never forget. We were sad to leave. That's when you know you stayed in a truly great place. Thank you, Penny. If we make it back to NZ we will surely book again!

Exceptional accommodation

This beautifully clean, comfortable, and luxurious house is RIGHT on the ocean--the beach is literally at the edge of the elevated lawn. Even on stormy days the view is mesmerizing and on good days the beach provides an excellent walk or swim if you are so inclined. Penny and Bas are right next door--welcoming, warm, and available if needed but also totally respectful of your privacy. Everything you could want or need, space very personalized but not in any way cluttered. Hope to return some day!

Amazing property with beautiful owners

We stayed for 3 nights and had the most incredible time, the owners went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. We checked with them prior and had an intimate wedding ceremony there and it was so magical, everything we ever wanted. I would 100% stay again! The property has everything you could need from kitchen items, board games, dvds and more. It feels like youā€™re in another world when all you see if ocean! So stunning! Thank you Penny and Bas x

Beach getaway

Penny and Bas made the stay very enjoyable, they are great hosts! The house had everything we needed. We absolutely loved being able to just leave the back doors open to enjoy the nice breeze and also being so close to the beach for evening walks. Would definitely recommend staying at this house if youā€™re looking to stay in the area! We loved it!

Refreshing beach stay

Absolutely fabulous location and property. The apartment had everything you needed. One exception- the main bed was a small queen, so no good for taller/ bigger people. It was too soft and caused bad partner disturbance. We ended up sleeping separately. Also only the option of a heavyweight duvet which was too hot. No other blankets or options supplied. View from the bed is stunning. Lively owners next door.

This is just the most beautiful, clean and welcoming home. The view is spectacular. Hosts are just lovely. The village is close and the QE park just a short drive or walk away was a lovely spot for the children to boogie board, despite the adults in winter jackets! Highly recommended. Well appointed, comfy, private, modern and clean! Super hostess who couldnā€™t do enough for us! Beautiful spot, perfectly located for our excursion. Fishermanā€™s Table is a minutes walk away and do fantastic meals at a super reasonable price! Highly recommended!

Amazing host

From the first contact to book, to the goodbyes in the driveway on the last day, Penny and Bas were amazing hosts who became our 6th and 7th Badminton team members by the end of the week. They generosity, friendliness and care for our well-being was beyond what we were expecting. They become friends and we will stay with them again 'in the unit next door' again in the future. What a fabulous property and location. We were in Paekakariki for a family wedding so Ariki View was simply ideal for usā€¦..we just wish we had stayed longer. The proximity to the Fishermanā€™s Table was also an added plus.

A family reunion in our childhood town staying in this lovely spot overlooking the water and spiritual home, Kapiti Island. Penny was a perfect host and our unit had everything and more, all the little touches made it so cosy and welcoming. My husband and I live most of our time at Fishermanā€™s Table, Paekakariki. We do have a small apartment in town which we use if we need to go to Wellington. I enjoy pottering in the garden out here and we both enjoy living in such a lovely place. I really enjoy hosting as I am a ā€˜people personā€™ (and a children personā€™- I taught for many, many years). As I also like to be busy. I spend a lot of time next door at Ariki View making it a really special place for our guests to come too so they can enjoy being out here as well.

Being able to look out every day to watch the waves, the sky, the sunsets and Kapiti Island and see the many changing moods of each. Once you catch your first glimpse of Kapiti Island as you pass Pukerua Bay and drive down along the Coast road before reaching Fishermanā€™s Table you have already started to unwind and though reading this you might think it a little poetic , I do feel we live in ā€œParadise.ā€







O que faz essa propriedade ser Ćŗnica?

Great sunsets, wave watching, out the door and straight down to the beach and if we donā€™t want to cook 3 minutes walk to Fishermanā€™s Table restaurant. It is the most relaxing environment. Being 15 minutes walk along the beach to the special character of Paekakariki Village and for the energetic 10 minutes walk from the beginning of the Escarpment Track certainly all make Ariki View stand out.
