Hawks Nest Hideaway. Ocean View, Private Bush Walk

We offer beautiful studio accommodation with a luxuriously comfortable queen bed. A small, clean, modern kitchen with complimentary tea and coffee.

The kitchen has an oven, induction hob, microwave and fridge with a small freezer compartment.
Air conditioning/ heat pump.
TV with Netflix and wifi.
Bluetooth player.
All linen and cleaning is provided.

This Bach comes with its own private bush walks to explore and beautiful scenery which includes expansive sea views looking out over the Barrier islands.

We are situated approx 10 mins from Matakana, 10 mins from Leigh and 20 mins from Omaha. This beautiful area offers many attractions. From surfing at Omaha and Tawharanui to regional parks. Close by is Goat island marine reserve for snorkelling and trips out on the glass bottom boat. Brick Bay sculpture Trail is 20 mins away. Saturday farmers Market and boutique shops in Matakana, as well as a unique 3 screen cinema. There are many places to eat and vineyards to visit.

We are at the end of a typical New Zealand rural gravel road. The adventurous drive will be rewarded with stunning views and peaceful surroundings.

3 night minimum stay.

Extras: Cleaning (included); Linen (included) This Bach is small but offers comfortable accommodation. The low price does not reflect the quality. Rather the owners are taking a backseat in providing any extras and allowing greater availability for those on a budget.

An instantly relaxing vibe with fantastic views. A lovely cottage with everything you need. Great location and the host was very easy to communicare with (but left us to our own devices when we were in the cottage). All in all - a great break.

Amazing slice of paradise

One of the best holidays we have had! Surrounded by bird song and views of trees and bays for days. The unit is beautiful and peaceful, and Sam went over and above with making us feel at home and ensuring we had a lovely relaxing stay. We are already looking forward to coming back in the future.

Perfect getaway for two.

Gorgeous accommodation in a tranquil setting. An immaculate with a friendly homely feel. Great walks and views on the property. Worth navigating the driveway, great instructions. So handy to Matakana and Goat Island. Wonderful hospitality. Thanks for the breakfast supplies and special treats of local honey and chocolate, a lovely surprise!

PURE MAGIC!

Best place we have ever stayed!!! Magic views and location. Samantha is really easy to deal with and is very professional. It has everything you need and all the extras - chocolate, breakfast included, robes, beautiful linen and cleaning done for you at the end make this place extra special. We stayed here for two nights while attending a wedding at Whangateau Hall, and it was absolutely perfect for our needs. The accommodation was beautiful, pristine, and set on well maintained grounds.Samantha and Simon were warm and friendly, with great communication throughout our stay. The studio itself had everything we needed and was thoughtfully set up.The location couldn’t have been better just a quick two minute drive to Whangateau Hall and super close to Matakana village.Set at the top of a hill, the studio is surrounded by bush and trees, making it incredibly peaceful.We would highly recommend this property and would happily stay again. A great little hideaway, we loved our stay. Nice and private, loved watching the birds and listening to the cicada's. Super comfortable and loved the little touches of breakfast provisions, honey and chocolate.

Relaxation, out of the way, in a nicely decorated cottage.

This place is well positioned with awesome views. You definitely feel liberated from the city and alone with nature. The cottage is beautifully decorated. We would definitely go again.

Beautiful cute getaway

My partner and I really love this bach. It was fully secluded with beautiful views that allowed us to relax. There is a very cute and friendly dog that may come say hello as well. We both highly recommend this bach.

Perfect getaway!

Hawks Nest Hideaway is the perfect little weekend retreat! It was so clean and warm and the views were just stunning. Sam was wonderful, provided lovely bread and butter and condiments for breakfast, as well as a jar of local honey that my husband loved. The location was also ideal, it felt totally secluded, but was only a few minutes drive from Ti Point and Matakana. Just what we needed for a relaxing weekend, we are already planning our next stay!

Tranquil Bliss

A lovely, relaxing long weekend watching the fantails acrobatic display above the lovely garden whilst taking in the fantastic views. A lovely, well-appointed little bach with some added extras just to make us feel at home - bread, milk, chocolate and a friendly welcome from the owner (as well as from Ted, a four legged canine companion who apparently likes to ensure that everything is in order). We had a fantastic time and are looking forward to coming back whenever we need a weekend of peace and tranquility.

Perfect retreat - peaceful and pretty

This property was amazing. After following the very clear directions to the property it was a delight to arrive to somewhere with everything you could want. The views are superb, fittings excellent, kitchen appliances and utensils first rate, along with all the special little extras that make it so comfortable (heated towel rail was on, bed had an assortment of high quality coverings, beach towels, umbrella, chocolate). Sam was a perfect host, introduced herself, making sure we had and knew what we needed about the local area. The drive into the property is worth it but it's not somewhere to just pop out for milk. Take in what you need and sit back and enjoy the amazing views, wildlife and serenity. Thank you Sam for sharing this wonderful place with us.

Relaxed and recharged

We had a lovely time here. We spent most of the time nestled inside the house, which was soooooo comfortable. When we did come out - we were welcomed by the gorgeous views right outside. We also enjoyed the sorrounding bush, scenery and views when we went on the venues own private walk. Will definitely come back again.

Absolutely beautiful little slice of kiwi paradise. Gorgeous little bach very thoughtfully decorated. From the locally made toiletries in the bathroom, to the proprietors home made honey in the kitchen we loved our weekend here. We will certainly be back. We would have to score it 11/10

Perfect peaceful retreat surrounded by beauty and in total comfort. Would love to return regularly!

This beautifully restored bach/cottage, set away from the main homestead and high on a hill commands sweeping sea views across to Little Barrier Island and the Coromandel. The absolute quiet created the perfect escape for us from city and suburban living. We felt so pampered by the thoughtful touches (chocolate, fresh milk and butter, a gift of honey and fresh bread) and absolute luxury of fine linens, furnishing, bath robes, and the beautifully appointed kitchen and bathroom. Despite the cold and wet of mid-winter the cottage was warm, dry and cosy. We loved walking the bush tracks on the property - felt as if we had magically stepped into the 100 acre wood and that Christopher Robin might pop out any minute! The fantails, wood pigeons and tuis were clearly quite at home all around the cottage. And having the cycle tracks and beaches at Pt Wells and Omaha, and the delights of Matakana just minutes away made the location perfect for us. Thank you Sam for being such a welcoming host. We would love to come again.

It was a beautiful hideaway modern cottage with everything we needed. We took advantage of watching the dvds during the storm. Sam took great care of us - loved the honey from their bees! Wonderful sea views. I would highly recommend this property for any couple who want to get away to a quiet place and rest.
