Real Kiwi Bach at the Heads, short drive to beach, shorter walk to estuary.

Come stay and kick back at our real kiwi bach. It's a basic 80's box! and a mod con free zone eg. no wifi. More importantly it is a short walk to estuary (which is swimmable in all tides) and boat ramp, short drive (or longer walk) to ocean beach.
The Wood St shops and eateries are in close walking distance, as is the golf course.
Large deck and large fully fenced and level section. Great for small kids on bikes and BYC.
Great base from which to explore the beaches, walks, vineyards and other attractions of the Greater Mangawhai area.

Special conditions:
We wont charge a cleaning fee, as it is quite pricey to get someone local to do it. Please leave the bach as you found it. To be clear, this means shower, toilet etc, clear fridge, sweep floors, remove rubbish, do dishes.
No parties or loud music.
No extra people beyond the number booked.
Please tell us a little about yourself and your visit.
Family groups preferred.

Please bring own bed linen and towels. Beds are 1 king, one queen, one single.

NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; and remove all rubbish from site. More info after booking.

Very enjoyable stay. Lovely to have so much space. Estuary was just a short walk. Pohutukawa flowering in the garden and great to be able to eat on the deck. Quiet neighbours. Heaps of board games. Thanks for a great stay.

Great stay. Bach was described accurately so it was exactly what I was expecting. Clean, tidy and everything there that we needed. A short walk from the estuary beach and we really enjoyed being able to use the stand up paddle board. Hope to get back for a longer stay sometime soon.

Fabulous

We had a great stay and loved this kiwi bach. It was an easy walk down to the safe estuary beach and a short walk to a little block of shops with a great op shop, little supermarket for supplies and a pizzeria. Lynda was easy to deal with, providing clear instructions.

The bach had everything we required and was in an excellent location; very close to shops and estuary and a 3 min drive to the main beach.Communication with Lynda was effortless.Thank you, we would love to stay again!

Great homely bach fab location

The bach is lovely and has a very homely feel. Beds comfy and shower good. Nice outside area and plenty of room to park off street. Quick stroll to the shops or estuary in a quiet street. Well equipped and we would love to stay again sometime. It was height of summer so I took a small fan which was good for us.

This Bach is all you could ever want. Walking distance to the beach, the shops. Obviously loved and used by its owners. And best of all itā€™s not flashy and itā€™s easy to clean.

Holiday at the bach

Great to arrive at the bach. Heaps of room and we wanted for nothing, it had all we needed and more. Went out for a fish in my little boat, which we towed up there. More than enough room for our two cars plus the boat. Caught 3 good sized trevally. We also took our Papillon "Louis". Great to walk on the white sandy beach. Went out to dinner for one night, good food. Good to taste tank water again, after the not so good Auckland water. We will be going back again.

Classic kiwi batch experience, spacious setting, great location

Thanks so much for sharing your batch with us. Was a great family long weekend for my partner and me, 2 kids and Finn our 12mo pup. Our first time staying in Mangawhai - we were treated to a great weekend of sun, sand and surf. Made all the more enjoyable by staying at this lovely batch. Fully fenced on a quiet street within walking distance to the inlet, Foursquare and eateries. That said, the batch was so well equipped we ate in every night. As mentioned the oven has a few simple quirks and the beds are a bit tired themselves but these are all a bit part of the experience. Made up for the huge selection of family games (yes we taught the kids to play poker and they promptly cleaned us out ;) .. spacious indoors and out. We're already talking about popping back. Thansk again.

Good little bach

A clean and tidy bach that worked well, for my husband-and me and our dog Eddieā€”good location, close to beach and shops. A nice stay unfortunately cut short by the cyclone warnings.

Convenient Location

We really enjoyed our stay at Mangawhai and liked being able to easily walk up to the shops. The house is clean and comfortable - a traditional Kiwi bach. We felt well accommodated and the communication with Lynda was excellent. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Great Stay

Perfect bach holiday for our small family in Mangawhai. Walking distance to estuary which the kids loved, short drive to surf beach. Bach is basic but well stocked with everything you need. Great place and the best location in Mangawhai Heads!

Loved everything! Big house with big garden for our kid to explore and also lots of games for her to play. Absolutely best location in the area, close to everything and also private!
