Your HOME away from home!

Nestled on a 3/4-acre private lot with a 1000 sq ft viewing deck. Each bedroom comes equipped with a smart TV. Fully loaded kitchen with basic amenities provided ensures that you can prepare your own meals. The living room also has a smart TV. Individual temp. systems in each room allow you to control the temperature to your liking. Fencing is not completely enclosed. Outdoor firepit, wood not provided. Fire safety expected. two steps away. There is a hose on the property for guest to use, but because we are on a slope it is difficult to access so we ask for guest to use extreme caution. We also ask guest not to access our private shed. ***There are 4 security cameras installed that monitor who comes and goes on the property. INSURANCE RULES STATE ONLY REGISTERED GUESTS ALLOWED. The cameras are located in the front facing the street/driveway, one facing the shed (at the bottom of the stairs) and one behind the shed facing the back of our property.*** We look forward to hosting you in our home away from home!!


Please note:
It is an old cabin with some funny quirks, so should you ever have any questions on how to work something, please don't hesitate to reach out! Please note that the style of outdoor chairs may change due to needing to be replaced if a guest breaks and the arrangement of the chairs, charcoal grill and propane griddle will vary. There is also an umbrella now on the table. Also please note the bedroom arrangement of furniture, and color of sheets/blankets may change.

The cabin has everything ya need except clothes and food…which are obvious things you usually take along on a trip or you could eat out the whole time in, Strawberry, Pine or Payson (30 min away). The Beds are comfortable, some games provided, Kitchen has pots, pans, coffee maker, plates, cups etc. (no toaster, but toaster oven). The Deck goes around almost the whole cabin and is not super close to another cabin as far as viewing of the forest. Pet Friendly, my dog loves to lounge in the sun and take strolls down the road to check out the Elk and Deer, saw some squirrels also. The Elk have a path that goes right by the cabin, also every morning and evening we did see some or one at least. Great get away location and peaceful.

I was impressed with the "cabin". Enjoyed watching the elk just hang around as if they owned the place. My little dog didn't pay any attention to them and the elk didn't even notice my dog it seemed. With all of the wedding going's on we only had one partial evening to sit on the deck and enjoy the scenery and weather with family from the Phoenix area. This would be something for me to consider again coming with my aunt (also from WI) and spending time during the winter. I used to live in Prescott Valley so the weather may be a little cooler in Strawberry, but it would sure be better than Wisconsin in winter.

The deck on two sides of the cabin and the view were fantastic but the rest was a nightmare. Concrete steps leading down to deck were steep and no handrails. Screen door did not latch, screen on it was broken. Arcadia door didn't have screen. Stairs from living room area to bedroom area no handrails. Kitchen counters made from old doors-you can see where the hinges were,. This was covered with plexiglass. Recliners on couches did not work. Security flood lights outside did not work. Outlet in bedroom sparked when I tried to plug my i-phone in. No smoke detecters in bedrooms. Rug on deck shredded in places I tripped twice. Coffee maker shown in picture not there. In order to use the air-fryer you had to move it to an outlet at end of counter to use it. The light in bathroom was on motion sensor, when in shower the light would go off. A disaster waiting to happen to happen at this place.In closing I could go on. We cut our vacation short ,I would not stay here again We filed an incident report with VRBO as of yet we have not heard from them.

Quiet place

Overall, it fit most of our needs. Close to where we needed with enough beds for our family. With some of house directions, we felt it wasn't necessarily the best for a family with young kids. However, for the time that we spent at the house during our weekend, it was fine for us.

We ended up leaving early as it wasn't as clean as we'd like and the furniture felt cheap/uncomfortable.

Great!

The stay was awesome, the elk right outside the door were amazing!! A couple things like trash bags were out, I had trouble reaching some things in the kitchen cabinets (I'm very short though so that's mostly on me) but overall the stay was great. The arms of the couch were loose but it didn't cause us any grief and it's tough if you have a toddler that gets into everything so keep that in mind! Not very baby proofing friendly.

Great place

Neighborhood is great. Home is great. I would say the water temp in the shower was not the greatest so we warmed up water and used the hot water from the bathroom sink to bathe our kids. Karen who helps the homeowner is great and very attentive.

Quiet and Quaint

Our family enjoyed our time at the home. The neighborhood is quiet and we loved watching the wildlife come through. The home had everything we needed and was comfortable.

Beautiful, peaceful

An amazing property in a central location to hiking and historic places. Highly recommend setting time to hang out on the deck and stargaze, the stars glitter the skies here! We’ll be back.

Elk Retreat

Need hand railings next to steps outside and inside house. Need more than a roll and a half of toilet paper. A gate would be great at the entrance to the porch. Other than that, seeing cow elk and 4 spikes up close was pretty Awesome!

Strawberry Cabin weekend

Very clean property located in the pines of strawberry approx. 6 miles north of pine. Cabin has large elevated patio with beautiful views. Large cow elk with their calves walk though the property just to say Hi. Cabin has 2 bedrooms and could sleep 6 comfortably, property also allows pets for those with extended family members. Restaurants and entertainment just down the road with groceries available in pine. Perfect getaway for a short weekend in the mountains.

Amazing

There was plenty of board games to play and it was cozy and beautiful we got to see many wild life like deer and squirrels. If your going to explore there are many good hiking trails if your there to relax that’s good to everybody was very friendly. One thing I do suggest is if your there to shop the small town does close down early through the week so might have to go up or down some more.

Cozy, rustic cabin.

First of all location, location, location. No luxuries but cozy and pleasant. Quiet and secluded exactly what we were looking for. You can't beat the price.

Great Cabin

The cabin was clean, and inviting. Me and my Mom and the weiner dogs felt right at home. The host is friendly and responsive. Would definitely consider staying again when looking into future visits to Strawberry AZ.

Cool vacay in the Pines

Quiet Neighborhood

Quiet Neighborhood with no fireworks! Wildlife experience included: Many Elk, Javelina, Humming Birds and a frisky Squirrel. Experienced for the first time, Pine Cones falling from the trees! Late into the night, We were Wowed by the view of the stars.

Perfect mountain cabin getaway

We had a perfect stay , listing and photographs are very accurate. Beautiful deck, full eat in kitchen we made all of our breakfasts and many of meals here. We mainly stayed in the cabin the whole time with some brief trips to see Tonto Natural Bridge and Shoofly Indian Ruins site. Just a pleasant and very restful mountain cabin . It was the perfect choice for us ! Just what we wanted . We booked based on the listing information and a recommendation of others who stayed here. The property is very well taken care of , and the host and manager do everything to make this a nice vacation home for your stay. If you like what you read in the listing info book it !

We love Strawberry for its close to proximity to SO many hiking trails and nature preserves but mainly because of Fossil Creek. We also love the small town vibe without the lack of things to do!
