In the evenings, stroll along the boardwalk and out to the boat docks where you'll find a front-row seat for watching the spectacular sunsets. You won't have to go far for great food and drinks, since the waterfront restaurant Stripers Bar and Grille is conveniently located on-site.

Be sure to set aside a day or two to explore Downtown Manteo, truly a hidden gem of the Outer Banks. Browse an eclectic array of unique, locally owned businesses including boutiques, galleries and eateries. Walk to the Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse for a trip back in time, or cross the bridge over to Roanoke Island Festival Park where you'll find The Pavilion Outdoor Theatre, a live-entertainment venue with lawn-style amphitheater seating that hosts concerts and festivals throughout the year. When you're ready to hit the beach, you'll be just a quick ten-minute drive over the bridge to the Nags Head public accesses with free parking.
