The Rockbridge House

Welcome to The Rockbridge House, an exquisite artist retreat nestled in the heart of Charlottesville, where curation meets timeless style. This thoughtfully designed property offers discerning travelers an escape surrounded by the natural beauty of Charlottesville. Rockbridge is the home of the famous custom Rockbridge guitar, played by some of the  most celebrated world-famous artists and hobbyist alike.

Reservations are not confirmed until approved by the owner.

Please note, the home does sit above the guitar ship which operates Monday-Friday during normal business hours (the very occasional weekend) and is the part-time home of the co-founder, Brian Calhoun. While not overly loud, you may hear a hum from the woodshop during the day, which can become more noticeable when machines are running. Here you can see and hear the story of Rockbridge and the creative designs that come out The Rockbridge House. Take a moment to browse through the reels and see if you can recognize any famous faces who’ve sat on the very couch you’ll soon be enjoying!

The communication was really good. We ran into a few issues, but they handled them quickly and did their best. The house itself is gorgeous. It has a really unique vibe. It’s located over the Rockbridge Guitar Company. We stayed there for a concert at Scott Stadium, which made the stay even more memorable. If you look into the story of Rockbridge, it’ll add even more to your visit. It is centrally located and within walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. Thanks to everyone for such a one-of-a-kind, special place.

We had a family gathering in town and this was an excellent location. We enjoyed the spacious house and having the half bath on the first floorIt is a beautiful, comfortable and well equipped home.

Cool house close to downtown

We loved the house, it is all newly renovated and well appointed. We walked to restaurants. Highly recommend.

Very nice, clean, comfortable property that is a short walk from the Mall/lots of restaurants and other attractions. The post was entirely as advertised. Would recommend staying here when in C’ville!

A fully functional fully furnished home

This is a gorgeous fully renovated old historic home in walking distance to shopping restaurants and more. One of the few homes we have stayed in that has enough seating for the number of guests. Very comfortable living space and beautifully decorated

The Rockbridge House was simply amazing. We were in town for a concert and had no idea about the history and significance of the Rockbridge house at the time of booking. The home is owned by one of the founders of the Rockbridge Guitar Company and sits directly over the guitar shop. Really cool and fitting for our weekend. The house was tastefully decorated with artwork throughout, very comfortable for 2 couples and the location can’t be beat, only 2 blocks from the downtown mall (walkable to all things downtown). I highly recommend and will stay here again on my next trip to Charlottesville. Thank you for sharing you the Rockbridge House with us!
