MOUNTAINTOWN RIVER RETREAT IS A VERY SPECIAL PLACE. IT IS PEACEFUL, SERENE AND THOUGHTFULLY DESIGNED FOR FAMILIES.

Photos don’t do it justice. This cabin is large and mindfully decorated resulting in a uniquely enjoyable experience. It is filled with thoughtful touches and appointments creating an experience other rentals do not offer. It's riverside location make it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings.

The cabin is conveniently located within the Coosawattee River Resort whose main gates are just 5-10 mins from Ellijay grocery stores, restaurants, antiques and more. Wineries, orchards and farms are approximately 20-30 minutes away.

Please be advised that there are two exterior cameras facing driveway and front door. These are in place to validate the number of guests and adherence of rental policies (no pets, no parties and no indoor smoking).

We had the best time, the location right on the river was perfect for all our kids who wanted to fish and tube! The cabin is well equipped, we hosted Thanksgiving there with no problems! The host is super sweet and had great communication! We will definitely be back!

We love this community. Rent here every fall. First time at this property and we throughly enjoyed our stay. So many things here to entertain the grandkids. I especially loved the upstairs gathering area. A great space to getaway and read. The best bedding I’ve found in a rental. A nice touch!

Loved the layout of the home and all the extra touches. The kitchen, bedrooms, & bathrooms were well stocked and thoughtfully furnished. Kiddo loved the Lincoln logs - we loved the large table outside on the balcony , sitting areas, the fireplace, the views and the beautiful nature. The driveway was a challenge but we figured it out. The host was attentive as well. Would highly recommend the house for family and/or a friend gathering. We were close to Ellijay and Blue Ridge, Amicola Falls and apple orchards.

Kitchen was fully stocked with spices and utensils needed for cooking. House had 2 fireplaces. One inside and one outside. We loved the outside fireplace and had a fire each night we were there. Spacious bedrooms. Grandson loved the game room! Fully stocked with games for him! The only drawback was the driveway. It was steep. Thankfully we didn’t get out but one day to go to the apple festival.

Mountain Memories

Unfortunate initial introduction- extremely rude gate guard. Local deer population greeted us along the narrow mountain road! Navigating the driveway was a thrill! The house was more than expected! Welcoming, beautifully decorated, wonderfully stocked kitchen. All ages of our family enjoyed it immensely!

Cleaning

We were disappointed with some of the way the place was cleaned. I asked for a refund on the cleaning since we had to clean for over an hour before enjoying the place. I was told it was a different place to call. I feel if your the owner you should have the responsibility to make sure it was done or compensate the renter who has pictures the cleaning was not acceptable

Beautiful cabin on the river

Stayed for a weekend with 6 adults and 5 kids. Cabin was beautiful, spacious, and very clean. Had lots of toys, and cooking supplies, and towels. We had no problem with the dirt road and driveway with our van and small sedan. Being able to walk down and splash in the river was awesome, but they was some mild climbing involved to get in and out. Pools and parks of the resort were also great, but that was extra actions/fees. Host was communicative and helpful and checkin and out was easy

This place is amazing! We spent 7 nights with our family and had a great time. The cabin inside was very clean. I needed to contact the host for a few items and very responsive. The river was easy to get in and enjoy! There were six of us and always felt you had space. Huge cabin inside! Will be back next summer and again, I would recommend this to everyone!!!!

New years mountain vacation

The property was perfect for our group. We enjoyed the space fir 3 family’s and fresh mountain air. Best time was hanging by the fire and listening to music. Very relaxing. Perfect getaway.

Home Away From Home

This property was a home away from home for myself and my extended family for our Thanksgiving vacation. After familiarizing ourselves with the ins and outs of everything we settled in and felt right at home. There were 10 of us ranging in age from 9 to 75 and the cabin had plenty of room for us to feel comfortable for the week. The neighborhood was secluded and quiet and offered tranquility and nature. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything (and more) that we needed for cooking twice a day and Thanksgiving. The fireplace on the porch and the hot tub were two amazing features! Being from Florida we needed time and practice adjusting to the one lane road and steep driveway but they were not deterrents to us having the best week ever. The owners were very responsive and great hosts. We would love to stay again in the future!

Great time

This was a lovely, large and wonderful property. Our group of 13 had a great time and the creek in front of the house was a huge bonus for the kids. We would definitely stay again!

Family adventures

The whole family absolutely loved our time spent on property. The cabin had everything we needed to make great memories. Seeing the deer throughout the community made the drive up the mountains road worth it for this Florida family. Hummingbirds visited every morning while enjoying our coffee on the balcony. Couldn’t ask for anything more, except to stay longer.

Sweetest Host Ever!

Our Christmas gift to our grown children and grandchildren was renting this cabin in Ellijay. We had 9 Adults and 10 kids (ages newborn to 10) and had a fabulous time. The cabin is beautiful. The extras (toys, dishes, firewood, etc.) were incredible. The fireplace on the porch with a view of the river was amazing!

There's so much to do at our riverside retreat. Downtown Ellijay is 12 minutes away and Blue Ridge is 20-30 minutes. You will surely enjoy the quaint antique shops in Ellijay and some great locally owned restaurants and breweries. And if wine is your “thing”, we have several awarding winning wineries to choose from in our amazing little mountain town. Ellijay hosts the Apple Festival every year in October. We have many local orchards and farms that offer fun things to do (especially for kids) and wonderfully unique opportunities for local ware and fare. And if that isn't enough, just south of Ellijay is Carter's Lake and Amicalola Falls. You can rent a boat at the marina at Carter's Lake or Lake Blue Ridge. We think you will find everything you need to create wonderful memories in this truly unique cabin. With views of the river from nearly every room, and two stacked stone wood burning fireplaces, it is easy to relax. The cabin is located on private road nestled in the woods. Fishing, tubing and wading are just steps away. And if you visit us in the colder months, we have abundant wildlife (deer are plentiful year round on your way and at the cabin, bear, mink, fox and so much more). We also have a firepit, outdoor fireplace, indoor fireplace (wood provided October-March) and hot tub to enjoy when the weather is crisp. The changing of the leaves is quite nice Sept - November (depending on the year of course)

This cabin is equipped with everything you need and more. We continually hear from our guests how they bring things they never need because we provide it for them. We have added extra touches and essentials that other vacation rentals just don't offer to their guests. We want you to have everything you need and even things you don't need but will enjoy. We want to provide you with the perfect environment to relax with love ones and friends so you can create wonderful memories rather than spending time at the store having to pick up numerous incidentals yourself.

There are 4 spacious bedrooms with French doors leading directly to either the terrace, the porch or the balcony and all of them have views of the river. Our cabin is NOT the place for parties of any kind. We welcome families and mature guests.

Mountaintown River Retreat is uniquely suited for adults and kids. There is a special place for everyone. The loft caters to adults with a dry bar & large screen tv. While the game room area is designed for kids with an air hockey table, large screen tv, dvd player, 300+ movies, PS3 (and games), board games, puzzles, books, toys and more are provided.

There are multiple outdoor spaces to enjoy as well and all of them with river view. There are several porches, balconies, outdoor swings, hammock, fire pit, hot tub and a variety of outdoor dining options.

There are many attributes setting our cabin apart from others and it's been creatively and thoughtfully appointed to promote quality time and to simply unplug. WiFi & cell service isn't ideal in this mountain setting.
