Beach & Bay View Home On Cape San Blas


Sea Glass is a 5-bedroom, 4 full bath, 2 half bath home built in 2015 with a marvelously convenient location. The house is a short walking distance to Cape San Blas favorite, The Trading Post, and offers a close-up view of St. Joseph’s Bay while the rear of the home looks out to the Gulf. This positioning offers a beautiful water view from almost every room. Private beach access is a short walk to the sandy white shorelines of the Cape. You will never tire of the long views of St. Joe Bay, up-close sights of the tip of Pig Island where the bird watching is great, and the sunrise from this side of the home is incredible. Every level is easily accessible via an indoor elevator.


Top Floor Features:


Open and airy, this is a wonderful space to gather and stretch. The Living room with a 60” Smart TV and Sound Bar is open to the dining table which comfortably seats 8. The upgraded and fully stocked kitchen features Stainless Steel appliances, Quartz Counter Tops, and a large Island with extra bar seating for 4. French doors open onto a large balcony that serves as outdoor living space for all. This floor offers (1) bedroom. Guests with mobility limitations and the “early birds” have enjoyed this suite since it is like a 1-bedroom ranch. This King room offers the best Gulf views of all the rooms in the house and features a private bathroom and sliding glass doors that open onto a large private balcony. A half bath finishes out the top floor.


Second Floor Features:


The Second Level offers 3 bedrooms. (1) The Master bedroom faces the Gulf. The views from the king bed of the sunrise over the Bay are incredible. Some might be inspired to get up and bike the 9-mile bike path, others may want to just lie and enjoy the majesty of the morning or turn on the 52” smart TV to get the fishing report. The master has a large walk in shower, soak tub, water closet, double sinks with quartz counter top. French doors lead to the shared balcony. (2) The second bedroom is dubbed the “bunk room.” This room sleeps 4: a double bunk, a single top bunk, and a single trundle. It is equipped with its own private bath and 40” smart TV and shares the large balcony with the Master. (3) The third room is a Gulf view bedroom featuring a queen bed, private bathroom and 32” Smart TV. It is the only room with access to the pool via a large private balcony. A full-sized washer/dryer laundry room are on this level.


Ground Level Features:


The Ground Level features 1 cozy bedroom dubbed “the whale room” with a twin bed and twin trundle. On this level is a large half bath. The half bath is loved for its imported Mexican sink and quartz counter top. A second refrigerator is also located on this level.


Most people seem to live outside the home at the private pool (can not be heated). There is a covered area with a table and seating for 6. In this space is a sink and a private outside shower offering hot/cold water. The pool has a sun shelf that is wonderful for supervised small children to sit and splash. There are 4 lounge chairs for sun bathers and Adirondack chairs to kick back and relax in. The gas grill is ready for your BBQ.


This home features parking for 4 cars and a parking area for large toys or 2 more cars. There are Beach Chairs, Beach Umbrella & Beach Buggy/Cart for hauling items to and from the beach. Don’t forget your flip flops and sunscreen to make Sea Glass the perfect get away destination!

Very peaceful and restful.The only suggestion that I would make would be more linens for the bathrooms and the dishwasher might need to be replaced. It did not clean very well.

Relaxing Stay at Sea Glass

Located on the Gulf side of the highway, Sea Glass is a short walk from the beach while having a wonderful view of the bay from the front balcony. We enjoyed mornings at the beach, afternoons in the pool, and evenings in the large family area. We found time for trips to PSJ, pickleball, bike rides, shopping, and visits to the ice creams shop and Weber's Donuts. Overall, we had a great week of R&R and family time in the sun.

Cape San Blast!!

The beach is a short walk down the street, and down a well hidden boardwalk that felt only used by us the whole week. We've rented a lot of houses in the past, and it was a nice surprise to see how adequately stocked up the supplies were, especially in the kitchen. The cookware was an abundance of all sizes, and in good condition. Was initially concerned that traffic noise would be an issue, but houses are built strong in Florida (Hurricane proof?) and couldn't hear much from inside. Bedrooms were all comfortable. Pool and pool supplies, 2nd fridge, bikes, walking distance to The Trading Post....all added bonuses. Would definitely stay again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was in a great location with just a short walk to the beach. It was a great size house for our group and had nice amenities. Our biggest complaint was that the dryer broke, so we didn’t have a working dryer for six of our seven days. The rental company allowed us to bring laundry to the office to dry, but that wasn’t what we wanted to do on our vacation. They did bring us extra bath towels, so that was helpful. The Wi-Fi also didn’t work upon our arrival, and we had to wait to get that fixed. The house didn’t feel very clean upon our arrival, and one of the beds wasn’t even made.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sea Glass is a nice, large home in a great location (about a three minute walk to the beach). The views of the bay side can't be beat! Beautiful sunrises. Even though the house is directly on the main road, it is not a noisy, heavily traveled road so we weren't really bothered by this. Plenty of bedrooms, but it would have been nice to have more King size beds and better mattresses. The pool and outdoor shower are wonderful and well maintained. The elevator in the home was very nice to have for my 81 year old mother (the house is 3 stories and has lots of stairs). We did have two minor problems--ants in the kitchen and a faulty smoke alarm that caused ALL of the alarms to go off at 10 p.m. one night (Coastal Joe staff were super quick to remedy both issues), but otherwise we enjoyed the house.

The umbrella needed to be replaced! It broke while we were using it. Only 2 of the 3 bikes worked. The beach buggy’s tires were messed up. We had to fix one & air it up every time we used it. The house was good other than that. Had everything we needed. Could have used a better deep cleaning. Found someone’s laundry under couch and beds along w dirt.

We love everything about this home. Our only complaint this year was the cleanliness of the house. There was still sand everywhere, the refrigerator had dried grime where meat had leaked, and there were also dirty towels found in two of the bathrooms. I contacted Coastal Joe within 45 minutes of our check in and they promptly sent someone over. The only problem was the person they sent did not speak English and did not know what to clean. They tried to get us to use a translator. Eventually, they vacuumed up a couple piles of sand and left. Cleanliness is of the utmost importance especially during this time. We are sadly considering other rental options for next year.

The house really needs a deep clean. Lots of sand in corners, urine on the back of the toilet seats, and mouse poop in a few cabinets. We also had several dishes in the cabinets that were still filthy from the previous renters.

We were pleasantly surprised by what an amazing view we had of the bay. Every window you looked out had a view of the bay. The porch furniture was very nice. The living room and kitchen area was big with lots of room for everyone. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook, lots of storage and the 2nd fridge was awesome for drinks. The elevator was perfect for luggage and groceries. Between it and the main level bedroom and bathroom it made a perfect home for a handicapped person to enjoy. The sizes of all the bedrooms were nice, comfortable beds and the ensuite bathrooms were awesome. We had so much room to spread out. Not a bad walk to the beach and the pool was perfect to use in the heat of the day when you didn't want to be burning up on the beach. Even though there are houses around, you have plenty of privacy because nothing is built on either side or directly in front. Great house at a great price!

Sea Glass was very comfortable, close to thee beach, with a fully stocked kitchen and thee pool was a hit! Beds were comfy and the views were amazing! Sept 2020 Cape San Blas visit

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our usual June family Cape San Blas vacation was postponed to June 2021 thanks to Covid. Cape San Blas is such a perfect beach vacation spot. No high rise condos and crowds of people and stores, just lovely homes minutes from the beach. By Labor Day the family was tired of staying home and missing our annual beach week. So after an hour or so on Google, we found Sea Glass and it was available Sept 12-20. Coastal Joe's staff are great and responded so quickly to our questions. So after a few emails, we booked the home. The following week, we were comfortably settled in Sea Glass. It is exactly as described and perfect for our family of 10 - clean, well-maintained, great WiFi, short walk to beach. The grandchildren spent each morning attending online zoom school, and then off to the beach. The home has everything needed and more and is so tastefully decorated, but with families in mind. The kitchen has everything you could want. We cooked all of our meals at the beach house with all the cooking Utensils and appliances available you could wish for. We did get take-out from the Indian Pass Raw Bar our last night, a family tradition. The pool is an added plus and great to relax and read in the poolside lounges. All the necessities for the beach are provided - beach wagon, chairs, umbrella, boogie board, etch. We enjoyed the 3 bikes - riding to the state park and to the Trading Post (which is just a few blocks away). We highly recommend this home if you are considering renting.

Very nice house that was beautiful and mostly well stocked. Overall, it was very positive stay and we loved that they had beach chairs and bikes. There were three downsides to us: pool wasn't heated and was freezing, no direct beach access and no idea how to easily get to the beach (nothing in the check-in materials) and the other were the towels. The towels were sized for small kids and are of Motel 6 quality.

The kitchen had everything you could ever need and more.. they even had a crockpot for us. A beach view out of some bedrooms and an amazing bay view from the main living area deck. All the furniture was far superior to any rental home we have stayed in before. The location of the home is perfect for the cape. Close to the Trading Post, Weber’s Donuts, Peachy’s and St Joe Shrimp Company. Plenty of space to relax on the beach. The house has a great storage area full of pool rafts, beach chairs, beach cart and even has 2 bikes to explore the cape with. It’s a 3-5 minute walk to the beach with toddlers. We rented a golf cart to visit family also staying down the street and it was a great way to drop off beach stuff at the access point every morning. Coastal Joe was great at helping us get a door handle replaced that was not working properly anymore. They came and went without even a peep. Check in was a breeze. We would love to stay at this home again!

Fantastic home for large family.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We just left Sea Glass last Saturday. We had a wonderful vacation with all our children and grandchild. The house layout is one of the best I have seen; kitchen has everything you need and more. Loved having two refrigerators and a bathroom on the lower level; easy access from the pool. Walk to the beach takes less than 5 minutes.
