From the moment you pull down the secluded driveway you can spread out and enjoy this 2576 sq/ft home. 3 Huge bedrooms, 4 bathrooms plus game room and all lakefront. Double master suites! Bring your boat or just take a swim and enjoy the mountain and water view. Home also offers a Private Garage Space as well as ample parking. The home has everything you could need so bring your family and start building memories that will last a lifetime. We have floats for the lake as well as two paddle boards for SUP lovers and two Kayaks

Our home has a fully stocked kitchen fresh herbs growing outside. Choose between the Ducane stainless steel gas grill or wood firepit with a cooking grate for those who choose a real wood grilled meal... or a perfect place for making s'mores.

Enjoy outdoor dining or a glass of wine on one of the huge deck spaces overlooking beautiful Lake Hiwassee. Tranquility awaits you at Lakefront Life retreat!
Our game room has and Air Hockey table, video games, pin ball machine,dart board and plenty of board and card games as well as TV's with ROKU. Wifi password provided.
We also have a ping pong table and fishing poles located in the garage for your use.

Takea walk for exercise on the rolling hills! We have plenty of parking including two spaces at the top of the driveway.

Other things to note:
Enjoy the mountain view marina in the Bear Paw community and rent a pontoon boat to enjoy Lake Hiwassee.

Even if you do not rent a boat, make a visit to the marina and enjoy the beautiful gift shop or pick up a snack or ice cream cone.
Our House Manager will be sure to make your stay EXTRA special offering lake tours and evening cocktail cruises. If you need concierge service to bring you a boat or pick up your groceries for the week just give him the shopping list and you will have a stocked refrigerator upon your arrival! (additional fees)

Lovely stay in a lovely home. Felt very welcomed and comfortable. Had all the amenities and didn’t lack any supplies or extras. Loved that everything was provided and taken care. The house was very well laid out and loved the lake and Mountain Views. Would definitely come back again!

Wonderful Stay

My parents built this home and Mom was so happy to see it again! It was very clean and had everything we needed. Everyone agreed beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was perfect size and well stocked. The view with our morning coffee will be missed! Bruce was very friendly and helpful. We want to come back later in the summer and in the fall.

Great place, excellent location in a cove off the main body. Plenty of water toys at the dock. Just a note, the dock is 124 steps below the house so prepare yourself for a workout each day. Would stay again

Great Trip!

We had such a great family vacation this past weekend! This property was perfect! It has such great frontage on Lake Hiwassee, has plenty of space, is very welcoming, and well stocked with dishes and towels. Bruce, the property manager, was very communicative, supportive, and kind. We highly recommend this property!

The house was awesome. The description on the website was accurate. The only downside is the distance from Murphy and the access road. The road was a bit narrow and winding. I would recommend this house!!

Long Weekend Away

This clean, well-stocked, spacious and comfortable 3-bedroom home offers a lot to keep everyone entertained. Our grown kids enjoyed fishing, sun bathing, kayaking, and swimming in the cove where the home is located. The mountain-lake scenery was absolutely gorgeous and Lake Hiwassee was very quiet and peaceful the first week of August. I hope our family can return soon.

Most amazing stay!

There isn’t anything I would want different except to have been able to stay longer. Bruce is great as well as the great couple that takes care of the property. Bear Paw is a wonderful community. The home is stocked perfectly and is perfectly located in a cove with other homes around. So you aren’t isolated but not in the middle of things. The property has something for everyone. Lake Hiwassee is beautiful!

Beyond expectations

We had an amazing visit to Bear Paw! This home has ALL the amenities. The lake was perfect! We had so much fun kayaking, swimming, and fishing. Went to town and wached a movie at a cool little theatre and won a little money at the casino. Bruce was terrific! The driveway was something else but we made it! Absolutely tecommend!

Warm and Cozy

This was a last minute reservation to attend a family funeral. Although a sad time for our family your home provided a warm and cozy space for us to be together and share memories. The only thing I would add is providing a warning about the steep driveway. We arrived at night and it was quite the surprise.

Great Time

We very impressed with the condition of the house. Bruce the Manager was very helpful. The only draw backs was it stated there were beach chairs and towels. We could only find 3 towels and NO beach chairs. The water level was down and dropped daily so getting to the dock was very tiring but overall would return.

Lovely lake side home

This beautiful lakefront home was wonderful for our family getaway. It was clean and spacious with a kitchen stocked with everything we needed. The game room was a bonus to have when it rained one afternoon! The beds were comfortable. Like many lakeside/mountain homes, there are stairs to consider. We enjoyed the seclusion of the home’s location, as the dock is in a cove with very little boat traffic. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board. We also caught a lot of fish from the dock. Bruce was great to contact us prior to our arrival to give us a rundown on the property ins and outs. He was also quick to respond to my questions.

Great stay at the lake!

Can’t say enough about how great this house was for our Thanksgiving stay! The house is in a fairly remote area and was exactly what we were looking for to safely escape the city. The house was very clean, extremely comfortable and relaxing. The kitchen is well equipped and bedding's were plush and high quality. Lots of nice, extra touches throughout the house that really enhance a guests experience (well done and thank you). We had our two young kids with us and they loved the games in the house, exploring the lake/dock area and fishing. The driveway is quite steep but very manageable for us even without four wheel drive. Bruce, the house manager, could not have been more helpful and accommodating both leading up to our trip and during! If there’s anything any renter could think of needing while at the house, we have no doubt he would help accommodate. We look forward to returning and seeing the house and lake this summer!

Everything taken care of

Provisions were beyond our past experiences of home rentals- ample supplies and linens. Cleanliness was top-notch. The only thing not expected was the lake was drained substantially due to demands of the dam/river system. The host was also super prompt on the couple calls made regarding internet, gas pilot and hot water. No impact to our stay. It is a beautiful house inside and out. The kids enjoyed the air hockey downstairs as well.

Perfect, relaxing Family getaway!

The house was perfect and just as advertised and what other reviewers have said. Lake Hiwassee is so beautiful! Our family of five really enjoyed a very relaxing time at the home cooking, eating out on the deck, playing in the game room and lots of time on the lake. We rented a boat for a half day, took a sunset cruise with Bruce and went kayaking and paddleboarding -- was absolute heaven! Bruce is a delight to work with as many have mentioned in other reviews -- so easy to communicate with. My only caution, though not necessarily a negative, is they are not joking about there not being a phone signal and limited wifi, and that the property is very remote. It is truly a 45+ minute drive to any real food/restaurant/takeout, etc. But, if you are looking to really unplug and hang at the property the whole time, it is ideal. Just be sure to prepare on the way in and get more groceries than you think you will need. :) We loved our time here and made some wonderful memories!

Beautiful area to get away and relax!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this property! It has everything you need except cellphone service, which was great to get unplug! You didn't need a phone with all the activities the property has from kayaking, paddle boards, to the game room. Bruce was very helpful with the check in process and info of the area. We rented a pontoon from the Mountain View Marina and enjoyed a day on the lake for a very reasonable price. Murphy is a nice area to get out and about and explore with the family. If you are wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday routines, I highly recommend this area!

Really fun lake getaway! Loads to do for the entire family!

This place was perfect for our family (kids age 4-11). Lots of space and plenty to do for everyone. Between lake activities, game room, ping pong, fire pit, and the grill, there was always something for each of us to do throughout the day. The water was low and too cold to swim this time of year and we didn't have much success fishing, but we still enjoyed getting out on the water multiple times every day in the canoe, paddle boat, and kayaks provided. I'd recommend getting another double paddle for the other kayaks. We managed it fine, but the stairs up and down were long, so something to consider for those that struggle climbing 100+ steps. I was pleasantly surprised by how CLEAN the house was! No dusty corners, no grungy couches, no gross bathrooms... we felt right at home and totally comfortable from the moment we walked in the door. Also, Bruce was great to work with and extremely accommodating. We already are planning on coming back later in the summer to see what it's like in the heat!

Doesn't get any better than this!

A lot of stairs so come prepared to get some exercise! The house is perfect and the lake is also! Nothing better than this relaxing time on the lake. Property manager Bruce was amazing and helped us with anything that came up.

Wonderful Bear Paw Lakehouse!

We enjoyed our week in Bear Paw exploring the community, fishing in the pond and getting out on Lake Hiwassee in kayaks and a pontoon boat. The home was fabulous and had everything we needed. We took advantage of Bruce's concierge services and had groceries stocked in the house upon arrival which was a nice touch as the closest grocery store is 40 minutes away. Bruce is wonderful. "Let's ask Bruce," became our go-to phrase. We rented a golf cart from Bruce to get around the neighborhood which was much easier than driving our cars. There are some great mountain and lake views and amazing homes to see in Bear Paw, so be sure to check them out. Bruce gave us suggestions on things to see and place to go. He shared some fishing lures with my son and was available to answer any questions. He also checked in on us to make sure all was A-OK. We rented a pontoon boat from Harbor Cove Marina, on Bruce's recommendation. Lisa was great and she brought the boat right to our dock. Nice touch! We enjoyed time on the decks watching the sunset and the hummingbirds. The driveway is very steep, but we got used to it. Stairs down to the lake will get your heart pumping when you walk back up! We had no cell service but the home does have internet. During our stay the Internet was out for a day and then only came one for a few hours each day. Bruce and the homeowner did their best to address the problem, but this is an isolated mountain spot. Lack of internet meant plenty of time to get the family around the fire, at the air hickey table in the basement or playing other games. Would back in a heartbeat. Such an amazing home and location.

We have dreamed of owning a property in NC and mainly Bear Paw for years. We were fortunate to find this amazing Lakefront family home for us to enjoy and share with you as well. You will fall in love with Bear Paw and enjoy exploring Murphy and the surrounding areas. Do not forget to look at the "Day Trip" books on the shelves for fantastic ideas of fun things to do and explore. We also have many recommendations or local restaurants if you decide on dining out. Besides the beautiful lake, expansive outdoor space, open floor plan and full bathrooms with every bedroom, this home has been appointed with updated decor and new fresh linens and bedding. We have stocked the kitchen with all of the necessary pots and pans as well as grilling utensils so you have all you need to cook for the family. The dining room inside and outside seat six at the table plus plenty of extra lounge seating.
