Peaceful and cozy home in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains with partial views of Lake Hiawassee. Enjoy time together with an open family room/kitchen/dining floor plan with floor-to-ceiling windows and a stone fireplace. This comfy home has 8 beds, 2 sleeper sofas, and sleeps up to 12 people: 2 king beds, 4 twins, 1 full/twin bunk bed, and 2 sleeper sofas.
Enjoy being outdoors on the wrap-around porch or the screened-in porch, and cook up your favorite dinner on the outdoor grill.
This home is located in a private gated community with a staffed 24-hour guard station. The private community features an outdoor pool, fishing pond, tennis courts, basketball courts, a volleyball net, an adorable playground, and a clubhouse.
Boat access and rentals are available at the Marina which is located inside the Bear Paw gated community. www.mountainviewmarina.com
The house has a circle drive and an adjacent street for parking. Two smart televisions with Directv, internet access, DVD player, VHS player (lots of VHS movies!), pool table, dartboard, and outdoor grill.

This is a great place for family vacation and surrounding is really amazing greenery quite and calm. Place is designed to keep children in mind. We had a great time here during our trip. Bruce our host is excellent in answering any questions which we have. It was great to hear to from Bruce a day before we arrive, which guided us as what to expect and what to bring with you to have a pleasant stay. Bruce went above and beyond and helped us with Tubing on lake and kids enjoyed fun filled 2 hrs on lake. Will visit soon!!!

Bruce was great. The house had everything we needed. There was plenty of room and the kitchen had all we needed for our Thanksgiving dinner we had. The view was gorgeous. If we ever go back to NC we will definitely stay here again.

We were beyond happy with this cabin. It was extremely comfortable and a great location. Will definitely look into renting this location again.

Friend Time in Bear Paw

Celebrated the year of us all turning 60, had dinner and played games in the evenings with all 6 of us, sleeps a good amount of people. Great time!

Calm and quiet

We enjoyed our quiet stay in Bear Paw. The community was calm and quiet. The cabin had a beautiful view of the mountains and the lake. It had plenty for things and space for the kids. It was very relaxing! We recommend the stay!

We enjoyed how family friendly this cabin was. There was plenty of space for the kids and lots of toys/games for them to do. The views were nice and the area was beautiful. The host was easy to contact and went out of his way to return something left behind. Definitely would recommend.

Cozy cabin with gorgeous view from the deck.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of 4 nights at Bear Paw. There was plenty for our grandsons to do with video games and a pool table in the cabin and a basketball goal at the entrance to Bear Paw. The kids also went mining for gems in Murphy.

Great Vacation

This is our second time staying at Sam's cabin and everything was wonderful. The house was perfect for 2 couples and 4 teenagers. We love Lake Hiwassee, the Bear Paw Community and the people at Mountainview Marina. We spent Labor Day weekend on the lake and it was beautiful- clear water and not crowded like other lakes. Great vacation, I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful and peaceful

We had a great time and the cabin was perfect. Thoughtfully stocked with just about everything we needed minus food of course. The area is beautiful! Bruce was awesome and very helpful. Thank you again.

Great place!

This house is absolutely beautiful, it has everything you need and it's in a great location. Beautiful view of the mountains and of the lake. In the morning we would see Deer out back, it was so cool. I talked to the owner Sam a few times and he was very nice and accommodating. I would love to return!

Thanks for the great review Jackie despite the stair incident. We’re u ever able to pound the screws back in or at least below the carpet enough ? Or did u leave a towel over them. I’ve led the cleaning lady know about so she’ll get it taken care of or I’ll drive up before next renters arrive. Thanks again.

We had a wonderful stay! Plenty of space, 8 adults, a 3 year old & a 1 year old. Loved the large kitchen living room area, loved the screened-in porch (used every day/night), loved the pool table & dart board. Bedrooms have plenty of room, large washer & dryer, lots of towels! Wished there was better signage & maybe solar lights along the driveway. Very dark at night. Overall, we had a great time & the house is beautiful! Thank you Bruce for making us comfy!

Wonderful

We stayed here last summer with our family and we had an amazing time. The home itself is beautiful and spacious. There was lots of room for the kids to spread out and they loved having the basement and pool table as their area. It is a bit of a hike to any kind of civilization but that's exactly what we were after. And the driveway and parking is a bit precarious. The property owner was super helpful and gracious when we spoke. We are looking to stay here again which is rare for us because we rarely like somewhere enough to visit more than once.

Our stay was amazing! This home has beautiful mountain and lake views! Sunrise and sunset were stunning. Anything we needed to cook with was available. Host was very responsive and easy to communicate with! Our family was able to make day trips to Helen, Eljjah, Blue Ridge, Delhonga, and snowtubing in Dillard. Some of my group went to the local casino and said it was spectacular. Everywhere was a bit of a drive. Go to the dam overlook (gorgeous…NOT crowded…beautiful for pics…we had a wedding proposal there!) and very close! We are Florida flatland drivers and were a bit nervous about the mountain terrain (the roads to the cabin are very narrow and one very steep climb) so most of us tried to be in the house before dark! My group played pool and card games everynight! So fun!! Highly recommend.

Fun!

Plenty of space. So much thought went in to entertainment for all ages. We played card and board games, puzzles, so much fun playing pool, darts, and Wii baseball, golf, and Mario cart. Our youngest granddaughters had plenty of toys that were there. We didn’t even touch the huge movie selection but we weren’t there long enough to need them. Bruce was very easy to reach before and during our stay with questions we had.

nice quiet area

Overall, it was a great property. I went down there with 3 friends in a ford pickup towing a 20' trailer with our motorcycles in it. That was about as long a vehicle as i would take in there and i am a professional driver. It did fit and we were able to get the trailer in the driveway but it was tight. Aside from that, the stay was excellent. It's a very nice house with sufficient amenities. I will strongly suggest that you go food shopping on your way to the house since the closest store is 20 mins away and the closest Walmart is 35-40 mins. All in all, i would rent this property again.

Great place!

It was a great price and great location if you want to stay away from town but close enough to drive to locations. We had three small families stay and it accommodated us just fine! I thought it would be too small when I pulled up but when you walk in there is plenty of room!

A nice comfortable home.

It's very clear the owners of this property are conscientious and have provided everything for their guests to have a comfortable stay. The recreation room with games for kids and toy-box for toddlers was a thoughtful plus. Nice pool table. Super comfortable lounge furniture in the living room was great for relax and movies. Nice modern appliances including washer and dryer. The extra drink fridge on the screened patio came in quite handy. The gas grill was nice and new with plenty of gas. We did have to clean it before use as the last tenant failed to do so. The kitchen has everything necessary and there is a lot of storage so you just have to locate it. I recommend an inventory/location list be posted to help. For example, we found the pot holders next to the last day; had been using a dish towel up to that point. If you've done VRBO before you already know to bring your own knives, or at least a good sharpener; we brought both. Tried to buy pool noodles at Walmart but they didn't have any. About four days before before leaving, we found some in the downstairs bedroom. Like I said, everything is there. Overall, a very nice and relaxing stay. Cons: Unfortunately, the pool was out of commission for most of our stay and the community center barely open. The pool however is very nice. The grandkids got bored with the playground very quickly. Internet access is fine for surfing but a bit spotty for streaming; specifically during peak hours. #prime time #bandwidth. The location is a bit more remote than we had anticipated. Nice for quiet and relaxation; requires a little extra planning for grocery shopping and daily outings. (You'll probably want to have a cooler in the summer months) All-in-all it was a great stay and I would recommend to anyone who wants to get away and enjoy peace, quiet and relaxation.
