Thank you for the review. Our guests safety is a main concern and is very important to us. The smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors were in place we installed new ones before listing the property on VRBO. We tried to incorporate the new ones with the older ones already in place as well but decided to just use all new units. They all have ten year batteries. The smoke detector you speak of is an old one that is obsolete and will not work properly. Due to a knee injury the caretaker has not been able to get on a ladder and remove the old one yet. we tried to replace the battery in the old ones and most of them just didn't work properly. My apologies for not having working batteries in the game controllers. That was an error on our part. We never received any notice that those batteries were bad. There were replacement batteries in cabinet above the range in the kitchen. Not sure which broken items you mention except for a previous guest broke the cord for raising and lowering the blinds that cover the upper window in living room. That is also a job that a ladder is needed, since that window is very high up on the wall. We hope you do come back to stay again. It will be more to your lking when you do.
