Modern Home on Quiet Lake, Townsend WI

Welcome to your home away from home, where you'll find everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The lower level has a full kitchen, 1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom with a shower, laundry room and living room. Walk outside to enjoy the lakeside fire pit. Upstairs you'll find another full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, another full bathroom with tub and shower, and a spacious deck overlooking the lake. Go up one more level to the roomy loft with two more beds, a desk and more amazing views! This home sleeps 10 comfortably in beds.

Smoke lake provides a quiet oasis, and is connected to Little Pickerel and the fully recreational Pickerel Lake. The boating rules are set by Pickerel Lake Association - generally, no wake from 5PM to 10AM. Enjoy fishing year-round for Bass, Crappie, Perch and Northern right from the dock. (Boats may be available for rental at Powers Service Center right in Townsend, but make your reservation for it early!) Launch your boat or jet ski on Pickerel Lake and navigate through the channel to get to our lake and home where you can park your standard size boat. We do have two exterior cameras monitoring the driveway and the dock when the home is vacant.

PLEASE NOTE: Our dock is removed between Fall and Spring. (Specific dates depend on seasonal weather, but generally our dock is in place between Memorial Day and Labor Day.) If you are bringing your boat, or if having a dock is important to you, please inquire with us before you make your reservation.

In fall and/or winter, hop on your ATV or snow mobile and ride the connected trails which are only .2 miles away! There are places in Townsend or Lakewood that may have winter equipment rental for you, like snow shoes, etc.

Grocery and hardware stores, restaurants, and bars just minutes away. More dining and shopping is close by in the neighboring town of Lakewood. There are several golf courses in the area, and Carter Casino is 5 miles away.

The property on Smoke Lake made for a fantastic getaway. It was a quiet and peaceful setting for our family. We spent much of each day on the dock and deck while the evenings were either by the fire or around the large table playing cards. We truly enjoyed our stay!

This was our second time staying here. The house is cozy and plenty of room for the 8 people we had. The lake is quiet with great fishing. The ATV trail is right down the road so it makes easy access to go to all the surrounding towns. The local pubs are also great for drinks and food. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a Northwood's lake experience.

Once again our stay at this beautiful lake house was great. The only issue was the AC had went out but the owner went above and beyond it have it repaired within 24 hours. Could not be happier and hope to be back in 2026.

Townsend House on Smoke Lake

Loved our week here. It was quiet, the fish were biting, we used the fire pit every night. The loons, cranes and even trumpeter swans were so entertaining. Coffee on the deck in the mornings was beautiful. Plenty of room, great facilities and a relaxing wonderful week of family time was had by all.

Loved our 3rd stay!

This is our third winter stay here, and we continue to love it. Perfect layout for multiple families, plenty to do in the area, house has everything you need plus lots of things you want. I bet itā€™s fantastic in the summer too! Lovely view to wake up to, house is immaculately kept and tidy, and hosts are very responsive with clear instructions. Highly recommend!

Relaxing Lake House

This home was perfect for our family vacation with our adult children & our grandchildren. Plenty of space for everyone, comfortable beds and the lower level also has a kitchen with living room. We enjoyed the paddle boat, kayaks & dock to fish off of. A few minutes from a grocery store, restaurants & a place to rent pontoon. House was very clean. Everyone wants to go back again someday.

Best Ever!

Have been renting cabins for 40 years. This property had the best accommodations ever. Even had 2 ice makers that saved time and money. Dollar for dollar the best stay in 40 years. Hope to rent in 2024.

Great fall escape

Stayed for opening weekend of deer hunting with our family hunting group. Pictures are very accurate and it is close enough to everything but you feel like you are very secluded. Wonderful cabin with plenty of room for everyone. Will be back next year for sure.

Winter Weekend Get Away

Our crew of 4 adults, 5 kids and 1 golden retriever had a wonderful long weekend at the cabin. We went ice fishing, sledding and had a little snowmobile for the kids to run around on. The place was clean and ready for all of us and it was a perfect way to ring in the New Year. Couldn't have been an easier process or friendlier hosts.

Tom has been coming to the area for over 20 years and always dreamed of having a place "Up North." Taunya grew up in the desert, so having a home on the lake is a dream come true. We really hadn't planned to buy a property yet, but as soon as we saw this one, we knew it was the one for us! We love coming here with our family and friends, and are happy to share it with you! We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do!

We love that Smoke Lake is so quiet. It's great to be able to paddle through the channel over to Little Pickerel Lake, then on to (the bigger) Pickerel, a full recreational lake. It really is the best of both worlds.

Spending time on the deck or around the firepit is awesome. The views are unmatched. And listen closely to hear the loons!

Our location is easy to find. It is so peaceful that you feel like you're really remote. Yet you'll find everything you need, from shopping to dining and more, just minutes away.

O que faz essa propriedade ser Ćŗnica?

We fell in love the moment we walked in the door. We love that we can bring our whole family and everyone has plenty of room. We can enjoy big family meals at the dining tables, or coffee on the deck in the morning. We can sit around the fire outside, or by the fireplace inside. There's enough to keep busy - if you want to - with lake activities in the Summer or snow activities in the Winter. Or just relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the north woods.
