This spectacular, HUGE, BEACHFRONT PENTHOUSE, has approximately 1700 square feet (400 SQUARE FEET LARGER THAN THE NORMAL SUMMER HOUSE CONDO), 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, nine+ foot ceilings, and a FIREPLACE. The south wall is entirely glass and has an awesome view of the Gulf.

Professionally decorated with exceptional furnishings, but fine for kids too! Designer tile throughout living areas and under-the-counter ice maker at breakfast bar, granite in the kitchen. Dining table seats eight to ten comfortably. FULL SIZE washer and dryer, four TV's all with DVD players, 5 CD-stereo, board games & library. The beds include a King, queen, and two fulls. FREE HIGH-SPEED INTERNET.

THIS IS A WONDERFUL VACATION HOME! All you need to bring is a bathing-suit!! UP-TO-DATE RENTAL CALENDAR!!!

Great location, beautiful property leads to a perfect Christmas vacation!

The pictures do not do this place justice- it is beautiful! First class appliances, plenty of room, and a stunning view of the beach! We had no issues- zero. Communication with the owner was fast I appreciate her checking in on us. Not having a balcony leads to more space for everyone which means this place is huge! Opening the bottom access windows on the beach-side glass windows adds the sound of waves which makes it REAL easy to relax. This was a perfect location and allowed my family to have a perfect Christmas vacation! Already looking to come back next year!

Best location

The property had a very convenient location, there was a grocery store close by, shops and restaurants! We loved staying here! The big windows made up for not having a balcony! I was much more at ease with the kids and they loved being able to watch The sun set and rise everyday! Perfectly clean, enormous! I would recommend this to any family with kids. The owner was very easy to talk to and very kind!

We loved the complex but our unit was not up to par for what we payed.

The unit we stayed in didn’t have a balcony just large nasty windows that needed cleaned in a bad way. This was not advertised as no balcony. The unit was very dated other than updates in the kitchen. The bedrooms had nasty old carpet. The furnitue was old and broken and needs replaced. All our sheets had holes in them. None of the rooms had lights with working light bulbs we had to go buy light bulbs the first day. The ice maker didn’t work just dropped water all over the floor. We called maintenance and they said I️t had been turned in many times but she still hadn’t fixed I️t. Overall we loved orange beach and the complex but will absolutely never ever stay in this unit again. Compared to several other units we saw we overpayed for what we got.

Great beach vacation!

We've stayed at this condo twice now and have loved it! The owner is so great to work with. We love that it is right on the beach and so spacious.

Poor customer service

I booked my family's Fourth of July vacation months in advance. I was extremely disappointed in the treatment by the owner. We arrived at check in time of 3pm and the room was disgusting, had not been cleaned. No linens, filthy toilets, etc... I contacted the owner and she said the maids would be there in 20 minutes .. I sent my family down to the beach because I didn't want to leAve our valuables and belongings. May I add I have a leg that is broken in three places and I'm unable to do much for myself. The maids didn't show up and I tried to contact the owner for 3 hours ... I even had to open s complaint with the vrbo site because I was about to have to go buy my own linens .. they were not happy with the disappearance of the owner either. The maids finally showed up at 530 and finished cleaning at 6:30pm which is when the owner finally contacted me to see if they had arrived... I couldn't even use the toilets in the condo while waiting in the maids. I explained to the owner the absolute horrible start to the vacation and she agreed to pay 100 back , I asked for the first night to be refunded due to the poor treatment and she told me I could leave but to please be out by 930 pm. I of course told her 100 would be fine because it was the Fourth of July the next day and where would an injured person and her husband and kids find on such short notice ? The sofa is stained and dirty, the master sweet has "pocket doors " that do not lock that separate it from the main family room... the light on the oven is always on, the mirrored closets are broken and look terrible. Believe me, the pictures do the place a much better justice than it is .. the lights in the bedrooms didn't work either... for the price the charge for the "penthouse" and the horrible customer service , you can find a much more appropriate place to spend with your family... I am very customer service oriented and I do not like leaving poor reviews, but there truly is no other review to leave....

Clean, very convenient location and very nice place!

Great place, my brothers and my family stayed there and it was great. I personally love the way the condo is decorated, I think some of the ocean and beach themed decor looks silly and ridiculous, this place was nice and comfy. Plenty of room, very clean, great location, great price!!!! We will be repeat guests.

Great views - large unit!!

We were only there for a long weekend, meeting up w/ family. Summer House is perfectly located and property well maintained This particular unit is perfect as it is large and layout well done. There is no balcony since unit is on the top floor, but large windows w/ awesome views! Didn't mind not having balcony as weather was really hot and several little ones w/us that we didn't want going in and out on a balcony. That being said this unit does have numerous maintenance issues. We were in touch w/ owner on several of them (and did get quick response to text). The worst issue being a constantly running toilet that wouldn't flush.as tank could not fill up. She did say maintenance was notified, but unfortunately they were off that weekend and by the time the offer was made to contact a different maintenance service on Monday we were already checked out. The other "issues" were mentioned and she said she would have maintenance take care of those as well.

Needs updating and cleaning. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, in spite of some issues.

When we arrived, the condo had not been cleaned, on July 13th. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but there are a few things that, if I were the Owner, I would want to know. Below are just some of the things issues that we encountered. • The newly installed tile in the kitchen and living space is very nice! Great job on that update! • However, the tile is NOT clean…..could not walk barefoot because our feet were BLACK from dirt still on the floor. • The carpet in the bedrooms is so dirty that we would not even walk around barefoot in there either. • Overall, the condo is NOT clean. • The icemaker in the refrigerator made hardly any ice at all. We had to buy ice to have enough for tea. • The big icemaker made almost NO ice…..it would drop 2-3 cubes after making a horrible noise in churning to try to produce ice. It was very annoying. • The bottom strip of the mirror trim in the hall bathroom was barely attached when we arrived. It was so bad that we placed it in the queen bedroom closet. • Pots and pans are in such a horrible disarray that we could hardly find lids to go with cookware, blender, etc. • With the inside of the kitchen cabinets being painted black, it makes it VERY dark when you search for cookware. • We had to replace light bulbs to have even enough light to see with the lamps and some of the overhead lights. There are some fixtures / lamps still with no light bulbs. • Lights above the vanity in the master bathroom does not work. Very dark in there. • Knobs on most of the light fixture controls are missing. Had to use tools to turn the knob to adjust what lighting there was. • Overhead fan in Queen bedroom runs only on LOW speed. • Overhead Light in full bedroom does not work at all. • Closet in Queen bedroom is so full of “stuff” that we couldn’t get anything in the bottom of the closet. Therefore, all our bags and suitcase had to be lined up all around the room. • Information on VRBO should tell people there is no balcony. • Pictures on VRBO site are very misleading as to the living space. • Advertising should let people know the tennis / basketball courts are across the street.

Good Space, great view. Wiring issues.

When we first entered the condo there were lights out in the master bathroom and guest rooms. There was also sand all over the couch. We were missing the hotel keys also. I did contact the owner and she had maintenance come the next day to replace the bulbs and she told us to use the codes and not worry about the keys, so that was fixed quickly. The light switches and ceiling fan controls in the condo are insane. All the knobs for the fans are missing and some of the light switches control the power for the entire room. The water to the entire condo shut off on us about 3 times during our stay lasting a couple hours each. The view and the space are the biggest positives of the unit. The beach was nice, amenities were great for our 1 year old. I think with some maintenance and updating this could be a really nice condo, but I doubt we would stay in this particular condo again.

Needs Maintenance

The Summer House complex is in a great location. The beach was beautiful. The complex itself was nice. The particular condo our family chose for our yearly trip to beach together was disappointing. We selected it because it was spacious. The view out the windows was nice. However, it was not as clean as we would have liked so we spent time cleaning when we first arrived. The kitchen sink & master bath sink both had clogs causing them to drain slow so we cleaned out the clogs to get the water draining adequately. One bedroom had no working lights. Several lamps in the condo had no bulbs so we bought light bulbs & got a working lamp in the bedroom that needed light. The mattresses were not the best. The closet doors in all the bedrooms were glass & some of that glass was cracked. The toilet flapper in one bath was leaking so it made noise at regular intervals. One bathtub had a drippy faucet. The ice maker in the kitchen made an annoying whistling/ringing sound so we turned it off. The place needs some attention & updating. In spite of a list of issues, we did enjoy our stay & enjoyed the fact that we had plenty of room & privacy for 8 of us. Everyone agrees that we will not return to this particular condo or complex. For the price we paid, we expected better.

Beautiful Beaches and awesome stay!

This condo was large and spacious, everything we thought it would be. The views are to die for, absolutely beautiful, you feel like you are on top of the gulf! The owner was easy to deal with and we will be back!!

Great location that needs a little love from the owner.

We rented this condo for spring break with the family. The location was amazing and all instructions worked exactly as the owner said. We had a wonderful trip however the condo needs a little routine maintenance. There were lots of little things broken or not functioning correctly. I notified the owner but she never apologized or made any inclination that they would be fixed. The property overall was great. The amenitites such as the grills, gazebo by the pool and the indoor pool made for a great vacation. This was our first vacation rental so I had a different impression on fully stocked. There was only one of everything so we ended up having to buy items like beach chairs, kitchen towels, bath towels, etc. Overall these little things did not take away from this gorgeous location right on the beach with easy access to everything!

absolutely love this place

This is the second time I have stayed here in the past 3 years. It is very clean and spacious so you do not feel like everyone is right on top of each other or crowed for seats when it comes time to relax. The owners are very friendly and helpful. All of the furniture is extremely comfortable. You can't beat the view! It is nice to be able to watch dolphins from inside the condo if it is still cold out or there is a storm. I am hoping I can turn this into a yearly trip.

Great Condo, Great time

We had a great visit to Summer House again this year. Once again we were very impressed by the accommodations. The condo was great, the weather was great, and we had a magnificent time. The rental process was simple and the condo was as advertised. We love visiting Summer House.

Stay here!

This condo was everything we hoped for and more. Clean, spacious, with a breath taking view. It accommodated our family of 8 easily. Close to everything! Owner is very accommodating and easy to work with. We will definitely stay here again!

Spacious Family friendly complex

We had a wonderful stay.. Very spacious for family of 7. Perfect location...beautiful beach and fun pool for kids, great food nearby. We would highly recommend to family and friends...will go back for sure!

Great Stay a family friendly complex!

We had a great stay at this large beautiful condo. The beds were super comfortable and the condo was spacious enough for our family of 6. The beach and pools were outstanding. The location was perfect, central to restaurants, golf, shopping, souvenier shops. My teenagers could walk everywhere, so we didn't have to drive them. We will definitely be back!!

Needs a good cleaning

We vistit this area often. We have stayed in numerous condos and haven't ever had any complaints. Let me start by saying the price of this condo was reasonable and it wasn't huge but did have enough room. I was disappointed when I arrived and realized this unit did not have a balcony. Also, this is by far the filthiest place we have ever stayed. The microwave had food splattered all in it. The refrigerator still had items from the guests before us and definitely needed to be wiped out. There was thick dust on all of the furniture. There was a non-working ice machine in the kitchen that was full of mildew. There was no sign to let you know it was out of order or not to open it so we opened it and that was a mistake. The tubs were dirty with hair in them as well as the bathroom floors. The other floors were covered in sand. The sofa is in bad shape with numerous stains on it. There were several dishes in the cabinet that were dirty. I could go on but I think that's enough to give you an idea of how nasty this place was. We spent half of our first day cleaning before we could even feel comfortable staying including washing the "clean" sheets on the bed because they had something on them.

Family friendly

It was very nice condo, family friendly, and very accommodating. Quick response on anything by the owner. Beach was easily accessible. Our child loved the pool and there was even a snow cone stand. A few shops across the street. Very clean. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect Getaway

We have been to Orange Beach a number of times & have stayed at Summer House once before. Our son was getting married in OB & we were looking for a place that was conducive to having guests in and out throughout the week. This condo fit the bill perfectly! The gorgeous penthouse view absolutely could not be beat & the extra square footage, due to the balcony area being absorbed into the unit with a glass front, was well utilized. There were no issues we had during our stay that were not immediately addressed by the owner. The indoor pool & hot tub were a huge hit with our tween-age children, especially since the weather was too cool, part of the time, to be on the beach. I highly recommend staying here...you won't be disappointed!

Excellent Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful condo. There was plenty of space and a beautiful view! One of the outdoor pools was nice and shallow which was perfect for the little ones. It was convenient having a grocery store practically across the street, and the kids loved walking to get ice cream and beignets. All in all we had a wonderful time.

Our family loves to vacation! Our favorite places to vacation are Orange Beach and Park City, Utah (see other listings). We live in Birmingham and it is less than a 4 hour drive to the beautiful white sands of Orange Beach.

Summer House is a great complex with one of the nicest pools and a lot of beach frontage. In addition, we have an indoor heated pool, 20 person hot-tub, sauna, fitness center, tennis courts, basketball court, playground & putting green.

This is a penthouse unit which is about 400 square feet larger than the typical condos at Summerhouse. We also have taller ceilings a log burning fireplace. This condo comfortable lives 8 people with ample living space for all.

We are an easy walk from restaurants, ice-cream, beignets, grocery stores, souvenier shops and an arcade. If you desire, you don't ever have to get in the car once you get here!!
